Android 14 might see lock screen widgets return, shortcuts are now customizable

Remember when Android had widgets on the lock screen? Well, Android 14 might see the return of such widgets as Mishaal Rahman on X unearthed an intriguing reference in the latest Android 14 beta build. A new SystemUI flag named "widget_on_keyguard" suggests Google is working on bringing back widgets on the lock screen. However, since this is spotted on the latest Android 14 beta build designated for Pixels, it might be a Pixel-exclusive feature after all. And even though evidence is scarce, it makes sense for Google to bring back the feature since Apple implemented its widgets to...

Weekly poll results: the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the clear fan favorite, the 15 Plus gets no love

Last week’s poll leaves no secrets as to which of the new iPhone 15 models is the most popular – sure, it’s expensive, the periscope camera is an unknown and the older models are still competitive, but the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the one to have from this generation. Regardless of why it happened, the switch to USB-C is a big deal (especially with USB 3.1 speeds). The lighter build due to the switch to titanium matters too. And that longer lens on the tele camera addresses a long-standing shortcoming of Apple’s expensive flagship. And just as importantly, these are not things that you get...

Samsung accidentally leaks the Galaxy S23 FE, Tab S9 FE and Buds FE

Given the intensity of leaks regarding the trio of Samsung Galaxy Fan Edition devices in the last couple of weeks, the announcement date can't be too far. And the company's seemingly innocent misstep confirms our suspicion. The Argentinian branch posted an image showing all three products - the Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Buds FE. Moreover, the published image came with a description, naming all three devices, so one could argue that Samsung has already announced them. Of course, a proper unveiling is due as this leak didn't give out any new information. It just...

Realme teases smartphone with a periscope camera

Realme launched the Realme X3 SuperZoom in May 2020 with a periscope telephoto camera, but after that, the company didn't launch any smartphone with a regular telephoto or a periscope telephoto unit. However, Realme posted an image on X suggesting the return of the periscope camera on its smartphones. The picture posted by Realme shows a circular camera island having two circles and one rectangle. The two circles are possibly for the primary and ultrawide cameras, while the rectangle hints at the periscope telephoto camera. This light will shine on realme. Just wait......

iPhone 15 series shatters sales records in China

Despite the homegrown competition in China, Apple's new iPhone 15 series managed to outpace the iPhone 14 family from last year. According to one of the country's biggest online retailers, JD.com, which has partnered with more than 4,000 Apple resellers, the first two hours of the launch saw a 253% uptick compared to last year. This signals a huge interest in the new iPhones and to everyone's surprise, orders from customers in lower-tier cities jumped six times. Despite the higher price tag, iPhone adoption seems to be spreading outside of major Chinese cities. According to market...

The Google Pixel 8 duo is set to make a debut on October 4, but by now, we know almost everything there is to know about Google's top-tier handsets for 2023. Except for one little detail - how the new colors look. A previous leak already revealed the color variants but without any visual confirmation. The Pixel 8 Pro will seemingly launch in Obsidian, Porcelain and Sky Blue. Interestingly, the Sky Blue paint job made an appearance with the most recent Pixel 8a live images. Only the Obsidian colorway is ported from the Pixel 7 Pro. Pixel 8 Pro in Obsidian, Sky Blue and...
