Motorola Moto G7 Power review

Motorola's launch event in Brazil was quite the Carnival. We got not one, not two, but four different Moto G7 devices. We haven't been always keen on this kind of fragmentation, but when done right, the consumers are more than happy to have more choices. So, please buckle up, as today we will take the Moto G7 Power for a ride.

Counterclockwise: counting cameras as single camera phones are on the way out

We're at a turning point - as of last year, over half of new phone models have a dual camera on their backs. The last time something like this happened was in 2003, except then the switchover was from "no camera" to "one camera". If you look closely, you'll see the green sprout that starts in 2017 and stretches to 2018 - this represents the phones with a triple rear camera. We expect the number to grow this year and keep getting bigger and bigger as time goes on. We don't see this trend reversing. Mechanical zoom is unfeasible on current mobile. Also, utility modules - things like...

Apple foldable display patent showcases multiple interesting designs

Foldable display tech is quickly and surely shaping up as the most explosive tech "hot topic" of 2019. Everybody who's anybody and their uncle seems to be working on a concept right now. And while the tech clearly still has its limitations, as evidenced by the first actual, even if obscure, devices we have seen out of the gate, the hype is very much there and growing rapidly. MWC 2019 will surely fuel that even further with players like Samsung, Huawei, LG and Xiaomi expected to touch on the topic in some way and perhaps even show off devices. Meanwhile Cupertino seems to be taking...

The 5G Moto Mod stops by the FCC - US release imminent

Back in August last year Motorola, or Lenovo, depending on you preference, unveiled the Moto Z3 - still its current flagship offer. Along with it at the special Chicago event came the 4G Moto Mod - a somewhat odd result of a new-found 5G hype, combined with an ongoing promise of Modo Mod compatibility and investment in the ecosystem. After that initial wave of viral media coverage for what was essentially, at the time, a shell, with a 2,000 mAh battery pack and space to eventually fit in one of Qualcomm's X50 5G modems, the 5G Moto Mod slipped into obscurity. Until late last month, when...

Huawei P30 and P30 Pro will feature FullHD displays and run on Android 9.0 Pie

Huawei's plans regarding the new P30 and P30 Pro flagships, upcoming 5G devices and MWC 2019 presence are kind of lacking particulars at the moment. As far as we know, the company will be teasing/unveiling or at the very least discussing 5G at its February 24 Barcelona event. That being said, however, a recent press release, dealing with Huawei's Polish branch did accidentally hint that the new P30 flagship will be unveiled in Paris at the end of March (likely March 28). A historical favourite combination of location and time frame for Huawei unveilings. Huawei P30 and P30 Pro...

Realme 2 Pro gets a price cut in India

Realme dropped the price of Realme U1 earlier this month in India. And now, it has dropped the price of the Realme 2 Pro as well in the country. The Realme 2 Pro is offered in three configurations - 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. The 4 GB RAM variant was launched in India with a price tag of INR 13,990 ($196), whereas, the 6 and 8 GB RAM variants were launched at INR 15,990 ($224) and INR 17,990 ($252) respectively. With the price cut in effect, the 4 GB RAM variant now costs INR 12,990 ($182), 6 GB RAM variant costs INR 14,990...

LG V50 ThinQ flaunts a 5G Sprint logo. Might be coming to MWC 2019

A rather interesting image was recently posted by one Evan Blass, also know as "evleaks" on Twitter of what appears to be the next member of LG's "V" lineup - the V50 ThinQ. Even though it showed up out of the blue, while most of us were busy discussing the G8 ThinQ as the next big thing in camp LG, it doesn't actually catch us by surprise. A quick recap of recent development surrounding LG includes info that the Korean giant will be bringing both the G8 and V50 to MWC 2018. More specifically - it will be unveiling both phones at its February 24 event in Barcelona. Coincidentally, the same...

Detailed Samsung Galaxy A50 renders surface online

The Samsung Galaxy A50 has actually been frequenting the rumor mill for a few months now. Starting from a benchmark leak all the way back in December 2018, followed by more specs leaks, a Wi-Fi certification, some body part shots and finally culminating in a recent full-specs leak. The latter showcased the first wave of Samsung's new and upcoming Galaxy A mid-ranger series, following the double digit convention, already established by devices like the Galaxy M10 and M20. Clearly, there isn't much mystery left regarding the Galaxy A50. Still, as the "top-dog" of the mid-ranger pack, as we...

Another official Xiaomi Mi 9 photo surfaces, this time showing off a deep gray color

Xiaomi has made sort of a habit of high-ranking employee teasers for its upcoming phones over the past few weeks. And while the social "campaign" for the Mi 9 flagship comes nowhere near the fruit-themed video series that preceded the Redmi Note 7 launch, company CEO Lei Jun did already publish a few official images of the phone. In a similar development, Lin Bin - Xiaomi president and co-founder posted what he says is an actual device photo as well. Unfortunately, it is just the one still, but it does show off a different color option for the upcoming Mi 9. One that can probably...
