Watch the Realme 2 Pro live stream here

Oppo introduced the Realme 2 in the last days of August, and promised "one more thing" at the end of the event "2 surPrise you". This new thing appears to be Realme 2 Pro with impressive specs and the time to be unveiled has come - the launch is happening today at 12:30 PM local time and you can follow it in the YouTube video below. The Oppo subsidiary will introduce the Pro phone with a Snapdragon 660 chipset and up to 8 GB RAM, according to a Geekbench listing. A leaked photo suggested the device will have 128 GB storage, living up to its Pro moniker. The phone might also be the...

OnePlus 6T renders and 360-degree video leak

The OnePlus 6T is slated to launch next month as the Chinese phone maker's mid-cycle refresh that it's done for the past two generations. Today a new leak reveals what the phone would look like. The OnePlus 6T's design is mostly unchanged from the OnePlus 6 except for one major difference: there's a less-intrusive "waterdrop" notch, much like the Oppo R17 Pro. Of course, the other difference is the size: the 6T will supposedly use an ever-so-slightly larger display measuring 6.4-inched diagonally protected by Gorilla Glass 6. This should also yield a slightly higher screen-to-body...

Foldable phone prototype from Lenovo demoed in short video

If you aren't excited about foldable phones yet, maybe this video will change your mind. It shows a Lenovo prototype that appears to be fully functioning, it loads apps and everything. The phone is quite tall, which is alright as you can fold it in half. It won't fold flat, though, the "hinge" reminds us of the Microsoft Surface Book 2. #lenovo #foldable pic.twitter.com/6IHqOT9m0S— 📱 🖥️ 👦 👦 🔍 🇮🇩 (@bang_gogo_) September 26, 2018 Notice the black spot on the screen where the hinge is. It's only on the right side,...

YouTube adds HDR support on iPhone XS and XS Max

YouTube has enabled HDR support on the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max. The change was noticed by users after the most recent YouTube app update, although the app's change log doesn't actually mention anything related to this addition. Previously, HDR was only available on the iPhone X on iOS. The iPhone X, iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max are the only iOS devices with HDR support in software as well as hardware, although there are other iOS devices such as the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone XR, and select iPad Pro models that support HDR in software. None of these devices, however,...

Huawei explains why it doesn't supply other manufacturers with its Kirin SoCs

Have you ever wondered why Huawei doesn't sell its HiSilicon Kirin chips to other smartphone OEMs? Even Samsung's homegrown Exynos chipsets can be found on some of the Meizu phones, but tbe Kirin SoCs have always been limited to Huawei and Honor phones. In a recent interview, Body Ji, Senior Product Director, stated that they are not treating the HiSilicon Kirin chips as a product but instead as an intellectual property that gives the firm an edge over the competitors. It's what helps the company stand out in the market. Huawei founded HiSilicon back in 2004 and has since been...

Sony enables Fortnite cross-play between PS4, Xbox One and Switch

Sony has finally done what many Fortnite gamers have been asking for since the game launched, enabling cross-play support between the PS4 and other platforms. Starting today, a beta version of the game is being released which enables Fortnite players on PS4 to play against those on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC/Mac, iOS and Android. Users will also be able to sync their progress and purchases. Until now, PS4 cross-play for Fortnite only worked with PC/Mac and the mobile versions but not with other consoles. Sony had previously come up with numerous excuses as to why this did not...

Latest update disables AI on the Huawei P20 Pro's camera

Huawei just pushed a rather hefty patch for its P20 Pro flagship, which is around 525MB big and carries the build designation CLT-L29 8.1.9.156(C432). It brings Google's August security patch along with some minor bug fixes and improvements, but more importantly, Huawei disabled the AI scene recognition in the camera app by default. It's still there and you need to go into the settings menu and enable it if you find it useful. That's a somewhat odd decision considering that Huawei's marketing is heavily focused on the AI capabilities of its phones. We hope we get an official...

Google Maps lets you and your friends vote on where to go

Deciding where to go to lunch as a group is one of the easier ways to lose an hour in arguing. Since you're going to use Google Maps to navigate to wherever it is you decided on, why can't the app step in earlier and help the group make up its mind? Well, as of this week it can. Here's how it works. You pick a few places from Search and share them with your friends (any messaging platform works). They can add places you didn't think of (and delete places they really don't like). Finally, everyone can vote thumbs up or down for each place. Here's a visual explanation of the three...

Huawei Mate 20 (non-Pro) will likely have limited availability in Europe

The Huawei Mate 10 was not available in all of Europe, some countries only got the Mate 10 Pro model (which broke Huawei's sales records in Western Europe). This year things will be much the same - if your region didn't get the non-Pro Mate, don't count on getting the Mate 20 locally. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro should be widely available on the Old Continent, supported by a strong marketing push. The non-Pro model should be available in Mate 10's old stomping grounds like Spain and Italy. Up north (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland) stores only offered the Mate 10 Pro and Lite models,...

Google Go and Maps Go reach 10M downloads each

Google introduced the Oreo (Go Edition) for cheap smartphones with low-end specs, targeting the developing markets. Along with the optimized OS, the company launched several apps tailored for the Go platform, including Maps Go, Gmail Go, Assistant Go, etc. Latest Installs counter in the Play Store revealed that two of the more popular apps - Maps Go and Google Go reached 10 million downloads, becoming the first of the bunch to reach the milestone. Google Go features The Go Edition was introduced with Android Oreo, but Google promised last month that there are plans for a lite...

Early sales of iPhone XS and XS Max below Apple's peak levels, expected to slow down

With the iPhone 6 (and especially the iPhone 6 Plus) Apple made the move to larger screens, a move that proved wildly successful. The XS generation also bumped the screen size, but the chatter from the supply chain indicates that Apple will not be able to recreate the success. The first wave of sales of iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max wasn't as hot as the sales of the iPhone 6 duo. Insiders have attributed this to the high price of the more desirable Max model and the relative lack of upgrades of the XS. Some see the slower early sales as a sign that future sales will fall below...

Yet another Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro teaser and it's a strange one

Another day, another Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro teaser video. The company already teased their triple camera setup in more than one video while yesterday's one was all about the Kirin 980 and now we get a new one. It's not just you, we are just as confused. Is this about typing speed or multi-tasking? Surely the Kirin 980 SoC will be great at both but is there something in the video that we are missing?

Nokia 7.1 Plus/X7 appears in first live images

Now a third member of the lineup is coming dubbed Nokia X7/Nokia 7.1 Plus. There are eight days until the October 4 event, but the device already appeared on the Chinese social network Baidu, revealing some details about the back, including its two color options - Copper and Silver. Render of Pixel 3's wireless charger leaks, will have a custom Smart Display function

The Nexus 4 wasn't quite the first phone to support wireless charging, but it was a very early example. Google quickly dropped the technology and not long after that, it became a staple of flagships. The search giant may have finally seen the error of its ways as the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will have wireless charging. Pixel Stand - the official wireless charger for the Google Pixel 3 phones An image of the official charger - dubbed Pixel Stand - shows that it will hold the phone at an angle to accommodate the Smart Display function. Basically, while they are docked the Pixel phones...

LG V40 ThinQ press image shows off the notch and the triple camera

While we are waiting for the official October 3 announcement of the LG V40 ThinQ, we got some juicy details of the upcoming handset. The CAD renders a month ago suggested that the V40 will come with triple cameras on the back and a notch and this leaked official image confirms that. LG V40 ThinQ for AT&T pic.twitter.com/uMsxdsnXf0— Evan Blass (@evleaks) September 26, 2018 It comes from prolific leakster Evan Blass and it shows an extra button on the side frame, which will most probably be for Google's Assistant. It's been on the LG G7 ThinQ and the company is all about AI lately, so...

Three new Nokias spotted in the ARCore database: Nokia 9, 7.1 Plus and one more

The rumor mill expects two new Nokia phones, but there may be a third. An update to the Google ARCore database reveals support from three new phones: AOP_sprout, PNX_sprout and CTL_sprout. The first two are easy. The Nokia 9 leak that showed a whopping 5 camera setup listed the model name as AOP. Next up is the Nokia 7.1 Plus (aka Nokia X7), which is codenamed "Phoenix". The third model is a mystery. It could be the gaming phone that HMD has been teasing. So, what do we know about these phones? The Nokia 9 was supposed to launch by the end of the year (though it may have been delayed)...

Google Pixel 3 will bring real-time Lens in Camera app

Google is introducing the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL on October 9. While we already know what the phones will look like and what their wallpapers will be, some of the features are yet to be introduced. According to Twitter user IshanAgarwal24, Google Lens will work in the Camera app of the Pixel 3, mostly due to the improved NPU and the Hexagon 685 DSP that Qualcomm put in the Snapdragon 845 SoC. The leak is part of a series of features that will come with the Pixel 3 devices. While some of them like Now Playing, Active Edge, Google Assistant are well-known and used by many Pixel...

Hell freezes over: Microsoft brings mouse and keyboard support to Xbox One

Microsoft just made a surprising announcement that it will bring support for PC peripherals to the Xbox One. That means gamers can choose between an Xbox controller or mouse and keyboard for their gaming sessions. But there's a catch. According to Microsoft's blog post, the mouse + keyboard combo will be enabled on a title-by-title basis so it's up to developers to enable the support. This also means that some game studios will skip this feature altogether. The currently existing Warframe Xbox One game is going to be the first title to test the mouse and keyboard input and the...

ZTE nubia Z18s from all sides The benchmark is called Master Lu and reveals the phone with a model number NX616J that we already know is the Z18S...

Nokia 7 Plus' Android Pie update delayed

HMD Global promised to deliver the final and stable Android 9.0 Pie update to the Nokia 7 Plus this month but we are in the final week of September and there's still no OTA update. Juho Sarvikas explained the delay in a tweet. It seems that some certification issues needed to be cleared, and the developers are now doing a final round of testing before the stable software comes out. #Android Pie 🥧for #Nokia 7 plus met with a couple of tricky platform specific certification bugs. We've got them now and are running final round of tests for quality assurance. Apologies for the...
