Oppo Reno Ace2 live image surfaces with quad cameras

The Oppo Reno Ace announced last October with a Snapdragon 855+ SoC and 65W fast charging might soon get a successor, as a live image of what's allegedly the Reno Ace2 has surfaced. The picture shows the smartphone in blue color. It has four cameras on the back inside a circular setup, which is reminiscent of the OnePlus 7T. We don't see the flash in the photo, but it's likely placed on the left side of the cameras. Other details we can glean from the photo are the volume rocker and SIM card slot on the left side of the phone, and the USB-C port placed at the bottom flanked by two...

The Xbox Series X won't have an optical audio port

If you are not entirely in the loop, regarding the upcoming generation of top-dog gaming consoles, here is a very rough and quick recap of recent events. A few days ago, Microsoft detailed its Xbox Series X hardware and yesterday Sony streamed a presentation of its own, detailing the upcoming PlayStation 5. This, naturally, re-ignited interest and discussions around both consoles and initiated a wave of comparisons, using the early, incomplete specs and info on both. A little detail that garnered some interest recently has to do with optical audio output (S/PDIF) interface. Some of the...

Enter the Redmi Note 9s - a rebranded version of the Note 9 Pro which will launch in Malaysia and Pakistan on March 23. Xiaomi Malaysia and Xiaomi Pakistan's official Facebook pages confirmed the Redmi Note 9S arrival, while a Geekbench listing gave us confirmation that the device is indeed identical to the Note 9 Pro. The device is running on the Snapdragon 720G chipset paired with 6GB...

Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 get an exclusive 007-branded Kevlar case

HMD Global may have announced a few new devices today (we're talking Nokia 8.3 5G, Nokia 5.3, Nokia 1.3, and Nokia 5310), but the company hasn't forgotten about its older phones. Case in point: the Nokia 6.2 and 7.2. Both of these models will get an exclusive 007-branded kevlar case. This has been quickly shown on the live stream video, which wasn't exactly the highest-quality ever, hence why these screengrabs aren't the best. Anyway, the case will make it to global markets at the end of this month, and can be yours for €19.99, regardless of which phone you have - the 7.2 or...

The Nokia 8.3 5G, 5.3, 1.3, and 5310 weren't the only things HMD Global announced at its online event today. The company has also unveiled HMD Connect, which is a global roaming data SIM card, with associated plans. This works in 120 countries. The price for a bundle is the same no matter the country you plan to use it in - €9.95, but you get varying amounts of data for that money. The aforementioned 120 countries are divided into 3 zones. So, for €9.95 you get 1GB of data in Zone 1, 500MB in Zone 2, and 250MB in Zone 3. Each bundle of data is valid for 14 days since activation, and...

HMD unveils Nokia 8.3 5G with Snapdragon 765G, ZEISS quad camera

HMD took a gamble that didn't quite pay off with the 9 PureView, but now it's looking to return to form with a formula it knows well - meet the new Nokia 8.3 5G. Positioned in the "flagship killer" segment its claims to fame are a great big display, a quad camera with ZEISS certification and unrivaled 5G support. HMD says the Nokia 8.3 5G is all about futureproofing - it supports more 5G bands than even the priciest flagship out there, which will make it compatible with all of the existing and upcoming 5G networks around the globe. The phone is built around a 6.81" Puredisplay of...

Samsung is temporarily closing its US and Canada shops as a COVID-19 measure

YH Eom, CEO of Samsung Electronics America, just announced that the company will temporarily be closing all of its US stores, effective immediately. The Company's Canadian branch put out a similar statement. While it is sad to witness another major business succumb to the COVID-19 crisis, it is also really encouraging to see proactive reactions to the situation all-round. Samsung is far from the only company to take drastic steps and temporarily close brick and mortar locations. Even within the industry, such moves have been fairly common, with Apple notably recently doing the...

Watch the Nokia phones announcement live here

This is the first of several livestreams promised by HMD as a replacement for the MWC event that never was. It starts at 4:30pm UTC and can be viewed on YouTube below: So, what's coming? The Nokia C2 is already official, but the leaks show that there are several models eager to launch. Given the James Bond-themed announcement of the event, we expect to see the Nokia 8.2 5G - HMD's first 5G phone that starred in the trailer for the new movie (rumored specs include a S765G chipset and triple camera on the back). Also expect some accessory tie-ins like the Nokia 6.2 rugged case...

The new image comes from Chinese tipster DigitalChatStation and shows out the Axon 11 and its waterdrop notch screen which follows in the footsteps of its predecessor - the Axon 10s Pro. We can also spot another new silver colorway of the phone alongside the black one from yesterday's leak. The new image of the Axon 11's back reveals the main camera will have a 64MP sensor and we can also spot a dual-LED flash module below the...

Samsung One UI 2.5 will enable gesture navigation for third party launchers

One UI 2.0 has been a major milestone in Samsung's ongoing UI development. It brought many tweaks to the interface, as well as usability improvements. It was quickly followed by the minor refresh One UI 2.1 that powers the likes of Galaxy S20 Ultra and Galaxy S20. Now we are hearing the a more major update is around the corner - One UI 2.5. As per the new report, the 2.5 release will extend support for the extensive set of gesture controls to third party launchers. Currently, Samsung offers users impressive freedom of choice to either use a traditional navigation bar, with...

By the way, Flipkart advertises 10% discount on the 6GB models (less for the 8/256GB one), but the prices...

iPad Pro's new Magic Keyboard trackpad brings some macOS gestures

Apple brought the iPad closer to the laptop form factor with the introduction of the Magic Keyboard with an integrated trackpad. Is the iPad even ready for cursor support? It is and this is one of the reasons why Apple split the tablet OS from the iOS found on iPhones. You can see a quick demo of the trackpad and cursor below (we've cued the video up). The cursor isn't the usual arrow you know from desktop PCs, instead it's a circle (since the iPad UI doesn't require pixel-perfect precision). In fact, when you move it over a button, it expands to highlight the whole button. One...

Apple supply normalizing as China production restored

Apple supply is slowly improving as production in China is getting back to normal, according to a report by LoupVentures. The report interprets the lead times for some of Apple's most sought-after products to gauge improved supply. The lead times (the time from the start to the finish of an order) for the iPhone 11 64GB, iPhone 11 Pro 64GB, AirPods Pro and AirPods 2nd-gen have improved from their worst on March 4. The lead time for an iPhone 11 64GB and iPhone 1 Pro 64GB is an average of 2 days (6.7 days at its worst on March 4), the lead time for AirPods Pro and AirPods 2nd-gen is...

Our Samsung Galaxy Z Flip video review is up

The Galaxy Z Flip is Samsung's second foldable phone, but it takes a completely different take on the formula. Much like the Motorola Razr it goes for the compact-to-regular transition, instead of the regular-to-tablet of the Galaxy Fold. It's also cheaper and more widely available, which might make it the most popular foldable phone to date. We already published our full-text review, but now Ricky managed to wrap all the major pros and cons into a nice 15-minute video. During the process of reviewing the Galaxy Z Flip, Ricky managed to crack the glass behind the cameras, which led...

Apple iPad Pro 11 2020 AnTuTu benchmark shows 6GB RAM, 9% GPU boost

Yesterday Apple unveiled the latest generation iPad Pros - both 11-inch and 12.9-inch models - with a new custom A12Z chipset. And today the 11-inch variant of the iPad Pro for 2020 has been tested on AnTuTu. Now before we explore the scores, let's get a few technicalities out of the way. Apple's naming scheme might suggest that the iPhone 11 series have a more powerful chipset than the iPad Pro's, because A13 should beat an A12Z (or A12X, for that matter). However, that's clearly not the case. The iPhone 11's A13 has a six-core CPU and a four-core GPU. The A12X, found in last year's...

Xiaomi Mi 10 lands in India on March 31

The Xiaomi Mi 10 that was launched in China last month, and set to make a global debut on March 27, will arrive in India on March 31. The Mi 10 will be announced for the Indian market through an online event that will start at 12:30 PM local time (7 AM UTC). It will be streamed live across Xiaomi India's social media channels. Xiaomi also launched a Pro variant in China but it appears that one won't be making it to India for the time being. Either Xiaomi will have another event for it later on or it will miss that market altogether. The Mi 10 is powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC,...

Samsung Galaxy A41 announced with 6.1" OLED, vastly improved triple camera

The Samsung Galaxy A41 was seen in multiple leaks earlier this year and now makes its official debut in Japan. It's a preliminary announcement rather since the Galaxy A41 is only scheduled to hit the shelves in June 2020. The Galaxy A41 brings notable improvements over the Galaxy A40 starting with the larger 6.1" FHD+ Super AMOLED display. It still has a water waterdrop notch with a 25MP selfie camera, but there's now a fingerprint sensor underneath as opposed to around the back. The main camera setup uses a single vertical roll as opposed to the rectangular plates of most recent...

Redmi K30 Pro will sport a 60Hz notchless OLED display, new color confirmed

The Redmi K30 Pro is coming on March 24 and the company has started drip-feeding us its specifications. We already know the K30 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC, support 5G networks, and sport a 64MP quad camera. Now the Chinese phone maker has released a new image of the flagship, which once again confirms it will sport a notchless display. However, unlike the vanilla K30, the Pro model won't offer a 120Hz screen refresh rate. Not even 90Hz, since the company decided to settle with a 60Hz panel. But, this will be an AMOLED panel from Samsung and Redmi promises remarkable...

Honor 30S is coming on March 30

The Honor 30S that made an appearance in a couple of colors last week now got an official launch date. Honor revealed it's coming on March 30 on Chinese social network Weibo. The post also confirmed that Honor 30S will support 5G networks. We got no further details, but if the image shared by Honor is anything to go by, we'll see the 30S sport a notchless display. We exclusively reported last week that Honor 30S will pack a Kirin 820 SoC, pack quad rear cameras, and support 40W fast charging. Later, a couple of images that leaked online confirmed that 30S will come in at least...
