Counterpoint: China’s Q4 shipments fell 11% YoY as Honor ranks second since splitting from Huawei

The latest report from Counterpoint Research shows the Chinese market’s smartphone sales performance. Although overall shipments for the market fell by 11% compared to the same quarter in 2020, smartphone brand Honor managed to rank second for the first time since the brand became independent from Huawei. Honor’s market share more than doubled from 7.5% in Q4 2020 to 16.7% in Q4 2021. Apple took the highest market share for the quarter, with 21.7% of the pie. Both Black Shark 5 models will support 120W fast charging, 3C docs reveal

Two Black Shark 5 models surfaced on TENAA yesterday, now they have made their way through the 3C, which is interested in what charging speeds they support. Both phones will do 120W (20V, 6A) using the Xiaomi MDY-12-ED charger. According to TENAA, both phones will have the same battery capacity – 4,650 mAh – so they should charge at the same speed. Mediatek to launch Dimensity 8100 in March

Mediatek teased a Dimensity 8000 platform back in December, and reports were it is going to be manufactured on the 5nm process by TSMC.
