Video shows a negligible difference in performance with 8GB OnePlus 5

We've already compared the OnePlus 5 to its doppelganger: the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, as well as Samsung's Galaxy S8. When it came to performance, the OnePlus 5 was beat by the iPhone 7 Plus, but it was a close race between the three flagships. Other phones aside, how does the OnePlus 5 compare to itself? More specifically: How much of an impact does the additional 2GB of RAM make in performance of these two tiers? Not too much, as we can see from the following video. YouTuber Timmers EM1 pitted both tiers of the OnePlus 5 head-to-head in a side-by-side speed test, running the same...

Moto G5S Plus detailed in new leak: 5.5-inch, aluminum body, dual rear cameras

At its event on July 25, Motorola may have another handset to showcase aside from the much leaked Z2 Force and X4 - the G5S Plus. This could be announced alongside a G5S, and a new report today details the upcoming Plus model. The G5 and G5 Plus were only introduced at MWC in February, so it's a bit odd for Motorola to be ready to out their successors so early. Then again, perhaps the company felt it was very important to have dual rear cameras on midrangers before 2017 is over. Thus, the Moto G5S Plus will come with 13 MP + 13 MP sensors on the back, one color, one black and white...

Honor 9 review: Light catcher

It's Honor's turn now - the time to wave Leica's license fees goodbye and welcome the annual Huawei P flagship on a bargain price. The Honor 9 is shinier, arguably more powerful, and above all - way more affordable. And Honor 9 is not just a P10 for the masses, it's also a OnePlus 5 killer. The bar is high, the expectations - big, and this review has just started.

Chrome OS is getting a touch-friendly makeover

Google's Chrome OS has traditionally been installed on low-end laptops, but recently more and more devices running it sport touchscreens. Thus you'd expect the company developing the operating system to adapt its user interface to this new reality - and you'd be right about that, in fact. It turns out that Google has started testing a touch-friendly iteration of the Chrome OS launcher. You only get access to this if you run the Canary version of Chrome OS, which is the most unstable and prone to bugs and crashes. Even if you're on Canary, you need to enable the new UI through a flag, so...

Nougat reaches double-digit market share as Marshmallow rules the Android world

Google has performed its monthly platform distribution chart update today, highlighting the changes that have occurred within the past week. The good news for Nougat is that the version launched last year is finally in double-digit market share territory, with 11.5%. That said, the previous iteration, Marshmallow, launched in 2015, reigns supreme now, towering over other variants with 31.8% of the market. Not far behind is Lollipop with 30.1%. Unfortunately, Android 4.4 KitKat still commands 17.1% of the pie, many years after its release. All the older versions combined are at 9.5%,...

According to previous reports, the LG Q6 should come with 5.4" screen, but the...

Its capacity was decreased to 3,200 mAh, as opposed to the original power cell with 3,500 mAh charge. The phone is sold in...

Just in: Huawei Honor 9 hands-on

When Huawei P10 was launched at MWC 2017 in Barcelona, everyone kept asking why the flagship does not have more RAM. Back then Richard Yu, COO of Huawei, said that having more gigs is like being at a cold war - you don't exactly win anything, you only have some fictional psychological advantage. That doesn't mean the hardware specs race is over. Today we have the Honor 9, made by a company, which is a Huawei's subsidiary. We have here the 64 GB model and guess what, it comes with 6 GB RAM. In a world where "revolutionary design" is having a new Dazzling Blue color, most phones tend to...
