Samsung Galaxy M31s goes on sale in India on August 6, new renders leak

Yesterday we found out that the Galaxy M31s would be made official in India before the end of this month, with it becoming available to buy sometime in August. Today a new report gives us the exact date on which it will go on sale: August 6. That's when you'll find it at Amazon and Samsung's own online store. The price is still rumored to be around INR 20,000, for what it's worth. Two new renders of the Galaxy M31s have also been outed, and the one showing the back seems to have a weird omission: a fingerprint sensor over there. This may mean that the M31s will come with an in-display...

Samsung Galaxy Buds Live leak in official-looking promo video, ANC possibly confirmed

Samsung's huge August 5 Unpacked event may be packing a pair of new true wireless earbuds as well, the oft-leaked bean-shaped Galaxy Buds Live. By all accounts, these won't be a replacement for the Galaxy Buds+, but will probably be sold alongside those. And that's because the Buds Live may be Samsung's first truly wireless pair to feature active noise cancellation, also known as ANC. That would make them perfect competitors for Apple's highly successful AirPods Pro, which also have ANC. Galaxy Beans pic.twitter.com/uJBO2BZbKB— WalkingCat (@h0x0d) July 17, 2020 The...

The new iPad Air could be cheaper but more capable than its predecessor

DigiTimes has reported that Apple is spinning up its supply chain to produce new ARM-powered MacBooks as well as new tablets. The company reportedly expects sales in both product categories to pick up this year compared to 2019. The new iPad Air, with a 10.8” screen this time, is said to be adopting the iPhone SE strategy – matching an affordable price with a powerful chipset. Possibly the Apple A13, the chip at the heart of the $400 iPhone SE (2020), though there are some conflicting reports on this. The iPad Air (2019) uses the A12 chipset and starts at $500 for the 64 GB model. The...

Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G enters South Korea as the most affordable 5G device on the market

Xiaomi is operating in many parts of the world and now the company is entering one of the most developed 5G markets - South Korea. The Mi 10 Lite 5G is the company’s first 5G phone on the Korean market and in typical Xiaomi fashion is betting big on aggressive pricing, undercutting offerings from the two main 5G players in the region - Samsung and LG. With a base price of KRW 451,000 ($374), the Mi 10 Lite 5G is half the price of LG’s Velvet and nearly KRW 120,000 ($100) cheaper than Samsung’s Galaxy A51 5G. The Mi 10 Lite 5G brings a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a waterdrop...

Moto G9 Play does Geekbench, has more CPU power and more RAM than the G8 Play

The first Moto G7 phones came out in early 2019 and were followed by the first G8 models later that year. So, it’s time for the next generation – the first of which may be the Moto G9 Play. Its development certainly seems to be going well as it already went through Geekbench 5. There’s some good news – the phone runs Android 10, unlike the Moto G8 Power Lite, for example, which embarrassingly came out this April with 9.0 Pie (most of the G8 series is on Android 10 though). The chipset is unknown, the benchmark reports it only as “guamp”. The results are pretty similar to what the Moto...

Red Magic 5S to sport silver-plated cooling system

Nubia has begun teasing its next gaming phone - the Red Magic 5S. The device was first teased by the company’s President Ni Fei at the start of this week and since then we’ve learned it will come with the Snapdragon 865+ chipset, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The latest confirmed detail is the phone’s cooling system which will feature a silver cooling pad which would be a first in a phone. Most phones that have a dedicated cooling system use a copper heat pipe while silver offers superior thermal conductivity which should result in superior cooling properties. We’ll have to wait and...

Google is preparing an emoji bar in Gboard for Android

Today is World Emoji Day and Google is joining in on the celebrations - the company’s own keyboard app Gboard is getting an emoji shortcut bar. According to a gif that Engadget provided, the bar will appear right over the autocorrect/features bar, which is on top of the numbers bar, if the user enables it. Currently, emojis in Gboard are opened rather primitively - the user has to long-press the comma key right between the symbols and language button, where the emoji panel is opened. Then there is the option to browse for the desired emoji, or simply use the search engine which works...

Xiaomi Mi Band 4C debuts with direct USB-A charging and sub-$20 price tag

Xiaomi introduced a Redmi Band back in April that has a USB-A port for a direct charge, while sharing many of its features with the Mi Band 4. Now, the wearable has escaped China and overseas market number one is Taiwan, where it will sell as Xiaomi Mi Band 4C. The Xiaomi Mi Band 4C actually has some advantages over the Mi Band 4, despite being cheaper. We are looking at a bigger OLED screen and no extra cables or chargers due to the integrated USB-A port. The battery is supposed to live 14 days, instead of the promised 20 for the regular 4, but it is still a decent endurance on a...

OnePlus Nord team talks cameras and performance

The team behind the upcoming OnePlus Nord wants to talk about the process of choosing components and what motivated their decisions. Simon Liu, who is Imaging Director for OnePlus Nord lays out the specs of the cameras - all six of them. The main camera on the rear is the 48MP Sony IMX586, the main sensor on the OnePlus 8/8 Pro (also used in the 7T series). The Nord team chose to once again use that sensor, paired with a bright f/1.75 lens and optical image stabilization, because of the software optimizations to the sensor OnePlus has made over the years. Accompanying the main camera...

Realme to attend IFA Berlin for the first time

Popular tech trade show IFA that's held in Berlin, Germany every year at the start of September will not go ahead as normal this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection, the organizers of IFA have decided to keep the show only open to journalists and not to general public, but it's unclear how many brands will attend the event since Samsung has already pulled out of it and others may follow suit. Now Oppo-offshoot Realme has confirmed its intention to attend IFA 2020 in Berlin making its debut at the show. This announcement was made through IFA's...

Samsung Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra certified in Thailand

The Samsung Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra have received certification with Thailand's NBTC authority. The devices carry model numbers SM-N980F/N985F and are both 4G. The certification doesn't in and of itself reveal any prudent information about Samsung's upcoming flagship devices, but it does confirm that Samsung will only release two Galaxy Note20 models - the smaller Galaxy Note20 and the larger Galaxy Note20 Ultra. No Galaxy Note20+. Samsung Galaxy Note20/Note20 Ultra certification, source: @yabhishekhd We're not sure yet of the differences between the two models, but we...

Here's our best look yet at the Asus ROG Phone 3

We've already seen leaked images and video of the Asus ROG Phone 3 arriving on July 22, but a new picture shared by reliable leakster Evan Blass gives us our clearest look yet at the upcoming gaming smartphone. The image shared by Blass corroborates previous leaks and you can see that ROG Phone 3 packs a notchless display like its predecessor - ROG Phone 2. The button placements also remain the same, but the stereo speaker no longer has the color accent. The back of the ROG Phone 3 houses a glowing ROG logo like the ROG Phone 2 with "Republic of Gamers" text right below it, but the...
