Report: Apple to begin selling high-end India-made iPhones in August

India could see lower-cost iPhones hit retail shelves according to the latest report. Reuters cited an unnamed source that claimed India-made iPhone XR and iPhone XS could become available in the market as soon as next month. Apple already manufactures lower-cost India-only versions of its phones including the iPhone SE, 6S, and iPhone 7. According to the source, approvals are pending before the alleged higher-end iPhones can hit the market. Apple iPhone XR Back in May, India was actively marketing the iPhone 6S as a phone "made in India" despite its age (it was released back...

T-Mobile conducts first 5G call over low band 600MHz spectrum using Qualcomm X55 modem

On Thursday, T-Mobile announced an important milestone in its 5G rollout. In its Belleview, Washington laboratory, the carrier, Qualcomm, and Ericsson announced that it achieved the first 5G data phone call. This was achieved using the Qualcomm X55 5G modem in conjunction with Ericsson's 5G radio systems using T-Mobile's 600MHz band (Band 71). The test is significant because it was tested using a commercial modem. The Qualcomm X55 modem is a second-generation 5G modem that will eventually be built into off-the-shelf smartphones. Currently, T-Mobile's "Extended Range LTE" is...

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 leaks in official-looking promo image

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 has been doing the rounds in the rumorsphere lately, with mumblings talking about it matching the latest Apple Watch in offering ECG and fall detection, and maybe even one-upping its competitor by packing in body composition measurement. And now we get to glance at what surely looks like the first leaked official press render: As you can see, it confirms the name, as well as an overall design that's very similar to the first Watch Active - unsurprisingly, of course, as this is bound to be that device's successor. That's a little odd, though, given...

Images of a Sony Xperia 20 case show the phone will keep the extra thick top bezel

The design of the Sony Xperia 20 will remain almost entirely unchanged. The one difference from the Xperia 10 that we notice is that the Power key and the Fingerprint reader have been reunited (the case renders of the Xperia 2 from yesterday show that they will be separate on the upcoming flagship). Sony Xperia 20 case That aside, the five-head top bezel remains and it looks really out of place in a market where full-screen designs are available in the mid-range. According to a recent leak, the Xperia 20 will stick to the 6" 21:9 screen with 1080p+ resolution. Around the back,...

Samsung to unveil wired noise-cancelling headphones alongside Galaxy Note10

Samsung's Galaxy Note10 is shaping up to be a great phone, but nice surprises may stretch beyond the device itself. Popular Twitter tipster Roland Quandt reports that Samsung will unveil wired in-ear headphones with active noise-cancelling alongside the Galaxy Note10. It's not clear whether the headphones will come in the retail box or as part of some special edition. What is clear is that the headphones will be USB-C and not 3.5mm - because the Galaxy Note10 won't have a 3.5mm jack. Quandt also shares that the EP-N5200 wireless charger made for the Galaxy Note10 will indeed be specced...

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro's screen to be curvier than usual

The screen of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro will have curved sides, but its shape may be somewhat unique - this alleged image of the screen glass shows that the sides curve nearly 90°, much more than phones currently on the market. The OLED screen is expected to have a 6.71" diagonal, which will probably make holding the phone without your palm touching the side of the screen impossible. Palm rejection has been around for a while, though, so that shouldn't be a problem. Alleged Huawei Mate 30 Pro front glass But what will happen to the side buttons? With a screen like that, there can't...

Xiaomi Mi A3 and A3 Lite may get upgraded chipsets - Snapdragon 730 and 675

Xiaomi's upcoming Android One phones will be based on its new CC9 series with some modifications. The Xiaomi Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite are reportedly getting upgraded chipsets compared to their MIUI-running relatives. The Mi A3 is set to get the Snapdragon 730. Compared to the S710 inside the CC9, this chip uses newer big cores (Cortex-A76 based Kryo 470, up from A75-based Kryo 360). Also, the new Adreno 618 promises a 25% boost over the old one. The chipset is built on Samsung's 8nm LPP process, which improves power efficiency (the S710 is a 10nm chip). Snapdragon 730 and 675...

Artist creates Google Pixel 4 renders based on the leaks so far

The first renders of the Google Pixel 4 were rather dark, obscuring much of the detail. So, here's a new set of renders (which try to pass off as real photos). The back should be pretty familiar by now, with the square camera hump - a design element that will be shared with the new iPhones. There are two cameras on there (regular + tele), along with a 3D ToF sensor. The front is more interesting, as Google has returned to the classic top bezel (even on the Pixel 4 XL). It's pretty crowded too, a notch would have never worked with two cameras, an earpiece and an extra sensor (for hand...

The Realme 3i teased earlier this week is expected to launch in India on July 15 alongside the Realme X. Well now, the company has confirmed the Monday launch in addition to revealing the phone's design and a few specs. The 3i looks similar to the Realme 3, but it flaunts a back with a diamond-cut pattern. It will come in at least two colors, Blue and Red, with the latter having a gradient paint job.
