Realme X2 will sport a 32MP selfie camera

The Realme X2, arriving next week on September 24, will boast a 64MP quad camera setup at the back. Today, the company confirmed that the X2 will come with a 32MP selfie shooter. Realme also shared a poster on Chinese social network Weibo showing off the X2's rear design, which you can see, is similar to that of the Realme XT. Details are scarce about the X2 right now, but it's believed to be the Snapdragon 730G-powered XT that was teased by Realme last week along with 30W VOOC Flash Charge support. More information about the Realme X2 should surface until it goes official next...

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro European prices leak

It appears that some European retailers didn't get the embargo memo and listed the recently-announced Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro on their websites with prices and everything. Well, at least, according to a Twitter leakster. The handset will start at €259 for the 6GB/64GB memory configuration while doubling the storage will set you back €289. As expected - competitive pricing is at hand. Some European retailers have listed the #Xiaomi #RedmiNote8Pro for the following prices- 6GB+64GB @ 259 Euros 6GB+128GB @ 289 Euros pic.twitter.com/hK6j45baWA— Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414) September...

Amazon Music HD launches with two lossless audio options in four countries

Amazon is launching a lossless music streaming service to take on Tidal. Amazon Music HD is $5 more than the current plans (both individual and family). For an individual plan this means you're looking at $13 a month if you are a Prime member and $15/month otherwise. The service offers millions of songs with lossless encoding in the so-called Ultra HD quality - 24-bit with a sampling rate of 192KHz. There are also over 50 million HD quality songs, that's losslessly compressed 16-bit 44.1KHz audio. If you want to stream music, you'll need at least a 1.5-2Mbps LTE connection for HD...

Huawei Mate 30 series in hand pictures and specs leak

Just yesterday we got some renders of the upcoming Huawei Mate 30 series phones and now some real hands-on photos of the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro emerged. Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro front and back Up front, we see the difference in the displays where the regular Mate 30 will come with a flat panel and narrower notch compared to the waterfall screen and wider notch on the Pro variant. The Mate 30 Pro's notch seems to come with a triple camera array but it's likely a ToF camera paired with a light emitter and sensor. Mate 30 Pro hands on Going around the back we...

Google confirms Pixel 4's 'coral' color with Times Square ad

Google is announcing the new Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL on October 15 in New York, as previously rumored. It sent out the official event invites yesterday, and in the meantime it's also started an ad campaign for the announcement. One of the digital billboards in New York's famous Times Square has been taken over by Google, as you can see in the images below. They also confirm the 'coral' colorway for the upcoming handsets, which will be the third option along with black and white. It has been leaked a lot and now it's gotten official. That, oddly enough, isn't surprising, as earlier...

Samsung Galaxy A30s gets priced in Europe

A few days ago Samsung launched the Galaxy A30s in India, and it seems like this phone's European debut is on the way too. Belsimpel, one of the largest phone retailers in the Netherlands, has listed the upcoming A30s today, and that thankfully gives us pricing information. In the Netherlands, it looks like you'll be able to purchase one for €299 unlocked. Three colors will be on offer: white, black, and green. The retailer has the model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Whether the other two versions of the phone (3/32GB and 4/128GB) will be sold in Europe or not is unclear - as are...

vivo NEX 3 rules AnTuTu with record-breaking score

Yesterday vivo made the NEX 3 official, and while this phone's screen is probably what will get the most attention with its crazy curvature angle, it's also a beast when it comes to performance. That's because of the Snapdragon 855+ chipset it uses, of course, but we're also thinking vivo is using some secret sauce - maybe it's the hyped up vapor chamber that helps with cooling a lot. We say that because when we ran the AnTuTu benchmark on it, we got the best result ever - slightly topping the Asus ROG Phone II as you can see in the handy table below. The unit we used was the NEX 3 5G with...

Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ are the first Wi-Fi Certified 6 smartphones

The Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ are the first smartphones to get the "Wi-Fi Certified 6" designation from the Wi-Fi Alliance. This signifies that the Notes fully support the new standard and will allow networks to function optimally. The Notes aren't alone, the Galaxy S10 trio also features Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. However, it seems they are not getting the "Certified" accreditation. You can find the full list of devices here. Note that the new iPhone 11 trio also features Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, but isn't on the Certified list yet. In case you missed it, Wi-Fi adopted a...

Samsung Galaxy A20s arrives in Malaysia

Samsung Galaxy A20s appeared on TENAA earlier this month with specs and pictures, but now the device is finally revealed. The Samsung Malaysia division launched the device alongside the already known Galaxy A30s and Galaxy A50s, and looking at specs, it has some downgraded specs, but there are also some improvements on the hardware side. According to official slides, shared by amanz.my, the screen of the Galaxy A20s is indeed a 6.5" TFT LCD panel with HD+ resolution. The chipset is now Snapdragon 450 with octa-core CPU. For comparison, the Galaxy A20 that was launched in the Asia...

Huawei to bring the Kirin 990 to India

Huawei announced the Kirin 990 chipset at IFA 2019 and we expect it to arrive with the Mate 30 smartphones. They will be launched on Thursday, September 19, in Munich, Germany, although rumors have been suggesting the devices won't be for sale in Europe. Well, Indian customers are lucky. Today, the local division confirmed the "world's first flagship 5G SoC" will arrive in India "with upcoming Huawei smartphones". Given the Mate lineup is ready for launch, it is a pretty safe guess what the suggestion is. The Huawei Mate 30 Pro is expected to arrive with extremely curved edges...

OnePlus reveals OnePlus 7T design ahead of launch

It seems OnePlus is starting to get impatient, as the company just dropped images of its upcoming OnePlus 7T well over a week ahead of its official launch on September 26. The images were shown in a form post, where the company briefly talks about the thought that went into the design of the new OnePlus 7T, as well as discussing OnePlus' focus on design since the launch of the first OnePlus One. However, that's not what we are here to discuss today, so here are the images of the new OnePlus 7T. OnePlus 7T The two images released today only show the back of the phone. The...

Realme XT's first software update brings in September security patch and camera improvements

The Realme XT that was unveiled last week, and went on sale in India yesterday, is already receiving its first software update. The new build, bearing version number RMX1921EX_11_A.10, improves the performance of the camera previews. It also improves the quality of photos and bumps up the Android security patch level on the XT to September 5, 2019. The update is rolling out over the air, but it's likely a staged rollout, meaning only a limited number of users will receive it initially, and a broader rollout will commence if no bugs are found. The Realme XT is powered by the...

Huawei posts Mate 30 promo videos, expect virtual buttons and air gestures

Ahead of the official Mate 30-series launch date, Huawei posted several teaser videos on Weibo hinting at some of the features the duo will have. The first video posted is about the side control buttons that might end up being pressure-sensitive virtual buttons instead of the old-fashioned hardware keys. Perhaps just like vivo's NEX 3, Huawei is facing the same design challenges that come with the curved Waterfall screen. The next video suggests that the phone will support air gestures - probably something similar to the Pixel 4 gestures. We assume the upgraded hardware for facial...

Video compares Pixel 4 XL's cameras against the iPhone XS Max

The latest in the Pixel leaks saga is a video comparing the cameras of the Pixel 4 XL and the iPhone XS Max (never mind that Google announced the phone's unveiling date just yesterday). This video is by the same channel that compared the Pixel 4 XL cam with the Galaxy Note10+. The video starts with details on the camera hardware. The wide camera on the back is based on a Sony IMX363 image sensor - 12.2MP with 1.4µm pixels, 1/2.55". This is the same sensor that the Pixel 3 and 3a use. The telephoto camera has an IMX481 sensor - 16MP with 1.0µm pixels, 1/3.6". The selfie camera uses an...

Honor Play 3e is the latest affordable smartphone, costs about $100

In a world where flagships are easily selling for over $1,000, one might think there are no more affordable phones on the market. Oppo Reno Ace is the next upcoming flagship of the Chinese manufacturer and it is expected to come with a massive improvement - 65W fast charging. Today, the Weibo profile of the company revealed the device can fill the full capacity of its battery in under 30 minutes. For comparison, a VOOC 3.0 device can go only as high as 39% in the same time. The test has some caveats though - the Oppo Reno Ace starts from 10%, while the other smartphone has lower percentage. Since the power cell charges with different speeds at a different percentage, the Ace might have a slight...
