A cool fact Google left out of its keynote and all promotional material is that both the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL devices will include a discrete, custom silicon for image processing duties. This little system-on-chip or SoC will operate independently of the main Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. Foldable ZTE Axon M is official with dual touchscreens
The much leaked ZTE Axon M (codenamed Multy) has finally become official today. You can call this a flip smartphone, or a foldable one like its maker would like you to. This isn't foldable like in those tech dreams where the screen of the handset folds - instead, what we have here is a two-screen phone with a hinge in between. When it's folded, the Axon M has a display on either side. When you unfold it, you get a total viewing area of 6.75", but the bezels don't help create the illusion that you're looking at one screen and not two. Nokia 9 leak-based video shows a gorgeous phone
The Nokia 9 is not yet ready to make its official appearance but its leaks are starting to pile up. The latest entry in the Nokia 9 leak chain is this concept video based on the leaks provided by @OnLeaks last week. The video is does a much better job of revealing the design than the still photos and shows one gorgeous phone. Keep in mind that this design is based on rumors and the real phone could turn out different. Apple ordered to pay $440M to VirnetX
Back in 2013 Apple was found guilty of infringing VirnetX patents and had to pay $368 million. The company didn't repurchase the license then, so VirnetX struck with another case. Today the US Court ruled that Apple has to pay almost $440 million for the very same patents, used in FaceTime and other iOS apps. The Court granted all VirnetX's motions for "willful infringement and enhancing the royalty rate during the willfulness period". The verdict consists $302.4 million in fines, $41 million in penalties for "willful infringement" and costs for the case, including attorney fees....

In its latest report, US-based magazine Consumer Reports has once again put the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ at the top of its list of best performing smartphones. The Huawei Mate 10 series was officially unveiled yesterday. At that time, the Chinese company revealed the devices will go on sale in October and November, and also shared a list of countries that will get them in the first launch wave.
