T-Mobile's LG V40 ThinQ is latest in line to get Android 9 Pie

LG may have been very slow to start the rollout of the Android 9 Pie update to its V40 ThinQ, but once it finally got the ball rolling there's been a lot of momentum for this release. We've already seen the update hitting units sold by AT&T, Verizon, and US Cellular, as well as unlocked ones in the US and Europe. Now it's T-Mobile's turn to join the fun. V40 units sold by the magenta carrier are starting to receive the coveted update notification. It's a 1.7GB download, so make sure you grab it where you have enough bandwidth so you don't have to wait a lot for it to be...

Here's the Google Pixel 4 in a transparent case

Google did a pretty unprecedented thing recently, by leaking the Pixel 4's rear design on its own, following a bunch of other leaks about the handset. Since Google's deed, the leaks haven't slowed down - on the contrary, they seem to have intensified. We've seen the Pixel 4 in the three alleged colors it's going to arrive in, we heard about its dimensions, and there was even a live photo of someone holding a prototype unit somewhere in the wild. Today we've been tipped about the image below, which seems to show the Pixel 4 inside a transparent case. There really isn't anything new...

Samsung Galaxy A90 might be part of a new Galaxy R series, have 45W fast charging

The story of Samsung's Galaxy A90 is weird. For a couple of months earlier this year it looked like the phone that ended up being launched as the Galaxy A80 would be released under the A90 moniker. After the A80 became official, new rumors started talking about an A90 again, except this time it's obviously a different device. That brings us to this point, when we're hearing from one of the most prolific leaksters out there that the Galaxy A90 may not end up being called that after all - instead, for the second time Samsung will forgo that name (this makes us wonder if it's cursed or...

LG W10 to launch in India on June 26, leaked invite reveals

LG's W10 was outed yesterday by the Android Enterprise listing. This comes after Amazon India started teasing the upcoming LG W series earlier this month. The W10 is the first handset in that family to see the light of day, and its official launch in India will happen on June 26. That is, if we go by this image which is purported to be a leaked invite for the grand event. The W10 will be affordable but still packing interesting specs, like a triple rear camera system (of which one is an ultra-wide shooter), a 4,000 mAh battery, Android 9 Pie out of the box, and a customizable...

Asus Zenfone 6 video teardown peeks at the flip camera from the inside

A couple of days ago the intriguing Asus Zenfone 6 was put through a torture test, focusing on its flip camera. This ended up being much more resilient than most people would've thought. But what if you feel the need to dig even deeper? Well then, this teardown video, from the same JerryRigEverything YouTube channel, is for you. Not content to just peek at the camera from the outside, Zack takes the whole phone apart this time in order to show us what it looks like from the inside. So you get a nice serving of interestingly stacked parts, bits, and pieces, but probably the...

Xiaomi discontinues Mi Max and Mi Note lines

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun went on Weibo today to shed light on the brand's product line strategy between the Mi and Redmi series. In addition, he stated that we won't be seeing successors to the Mi Max and Mi Note lines this year. The CEO specified that the Mi brand will continue to focus on high-performance models incorporating the latest innovations like the Mi 9, Mi Mix series and the upcoming CC range. On the other end of the spectrum, the Redmi brand will deliver cost-effective phones which offer all the essential features in a more affordable package. The Mi Max series was...

Check out the Huawei nova 5 series promo video

Huawei announced the nova 5 series today at a lengthy event in Wuhan, China. The family consists of three phones, but the most impressive device of all is the nova 5 Pro - pretty OLED on the front, cool design and powerful internals. During the presentation, Huawei played the promo video of the series, and later it is now uploaded on the social media channels. The clip gathers the most impressive specs in under two minutes. You can follow the narrative pretty easy - opening the phone with your finger on the screen sends you in a different world, where you can take pictures with...

Samsung Galaxy M30s appears on Geekbench

Samsung's new Galaxy M-line managed to quickly gain popularity selling over 2 million units in India less than a month after it was announced. The lineup already includes four phones, but according to a new Geekbench listing a fifth one might be coming shortly as an improved version of the Galaxy M30. The device bearing the SM-M307F model number managed to push out 1,680 on the single core test and 5,211 in the multi-core department. The listing shows us that the phone uses the Exynos 9610 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and runs Android 9 Pie. These numbers are a step above the...

Motorola Moto E6 appears in a new render with textured back

An image of the Motorola Moto E6 leaked earlier last month revealing the phone's design. Now, another, official-looking, press render of this smartphone has surfaced revealing its textured back. This image comes to us through reliable leakster Evan Blass, and it corroborates the previous leak which showed the Moto E6 with a tall screen, thick bezels, and a single rear camera placed in the upper-left corner. The back of the Moto E6 also has the Motorola logo, but it's unclear if it has the fingerprint reader embedded in it. The Moto E5 from last year did have one, so we don't see...

Samsung Galaxy Note10, Note10 Pro cases confirm design

CAD-based renders of the Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Note10 Pro surfaced earlier this month giving us a pretty good idea of what they'll look like. Now today, we are looking at the official Olixar cases of these smartphones listed on a UK retailer's website further confirming some of their design aspects. Both Note10 and Note10 Pro will come with their rear cameras placed vertically in the top-left corner on their backs. The Note10 will boast a triple camera setup while the Note10 Pro will have an extra shooter. Samsung Galaxy Note10 • Samsung Galaxy Note10 Pro Furthermore, the...

Oppo Find Y trademarked

We didn't really think Oppo is doing a Find X sequel, but according to a leaked document for a trademark, the company is keeping its options open. The trademark is for the Find Y name, which seems like an obvious successor to the Find X. Also, judging by the Find X's experimental nature, we have a feeling that the Find Y will introduce a crazy new design or breakthrough tech. The trademark aligns perfectly with the company's announcement of a true under-display camera on June 26. So there's a good chance that the Find Y will feature an under-display camera and perhaps kickstart a...

Huawei's 7nm mid-range HiSilicon Kirin 810 SoC announced

Huawei just announced its brand new Kirin 810 SoC - a mid-range chip based on the same 7nm manufacturing node as the flagship Kirin 980. It's also the only mid-range SoC with 7nm manufacturing process - Qualcomm's offerings do come close at 8nm, though. The SoC accommodates an octa-core CPU and a Mali-G52 MP6 GPU. The CPU consists of two high-performance ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.27GHz and six smaller ARM Cortex-A55 cores ticking at 1.88GHz. As far as the GPU is concerned, Huawei promises around 162% better performance over the last generation found in the Kirin...

In addition to the three nova 5 phones Huawei also introduced its latest tablet offerings with the MediaPad M6 duo today. We have two slates actually - coming in at 8.4 inches and 10.8 inches. The only other difference between them is battery capacity. Both MediaPad M6 versions come with LCD panels of 2560×1600 pixel resolution with nicely slim bezels (in tablet terms, at least). The larger 10.8-inch version packs a 7,500mAh battery while the smaller one comes with a 6,100 mAh cell. Both tablets come with 8MP front cams and 13MP rear shooters. This year Huawei also added a...
