Nokia 9 PureView is $200 off once again

Last month during Amazon's huge Prime Day event, the Nokia 9 PureView was selling for just $499.99, $200 off its usual price. The price went back up afterwards, but we're happy to report that it's dropped again, to the same $499.99 level. The deal is live at Amazon, Best Buy, as well as B&H, but it is likely to be a limited-time offer only, so make sure you don't waste any time if you want to take advantage of it. At Best Buy you can even save an additional $50, grabbing the phone for a mere $449.99, if you choose to activate it with AT&T upon purchase. The Nokia 9 PureView is HMD...

Apple Watch Series 5 is coming this fall, analyst claims

Famous analyst of all things Apple Ming-Chi Kuo has published another research note today, and this one is about the Apple Watch Series 5, which is apparently going to launch this fall. That's interesting because so far we haven't seen many leaks about Apple's next-gen wearable. If Kuo is right (and he generally is right more than wrong), then we might see the Watch Series 5 make its debut alongside the iPhone 11 at Apple's big fall event, which could take place on September 10. The Apple Watch Series 5 and its successors will start to use displays from JDI. The Japanese company's panels...

According to the Android Enterprise Directory, the Huawei P smart Pro will get 4GB of RAM, 64GB of base storage, and support a fingerprint scanner. The listing also includes a single image of the phone from the front. Unfortunately, this is the only information...

Google updates Chrome OS with camera modes of all things

Google announced another update for Chrome OS, and this time it brought some rather unexpected features for Chromebooks and Pixel Slates. Key features include better media navigation between tabs, more photo modes and easier way to clean notifications. Google issues new updates every six weeks, but this one grabbed our attention particularly due to the Portrait Mode and Square Mode. We understand there are some people who take photos with their tablets, including a Pixel Slate, but we simply cannot fathom why would someone use a 12.3" device when a simple smartphone does a much...

Two new Xiaomi smartphones pop up on 3C, one of them has 18W charging

Xiaomi has just got two new phones certified by the Chinese 3C, and they are likely members of the upcoming Redmi 8 series. The devices with model numbers M1906G7E and M1906G7T have received China's Compulsory Certificate mark, alongside an 18W charger with a serial number MDY-10-EC. CCC certification The second line reads that another phone with two model numbers (likely different memory combinations) got the approval from 3C, but they appear to be low-end or mid-range phones since they'll ship with the MDY-09-EK charger that tops up at 10W. It is way too early to know what...

Motorola One Action promo videos show off the ultra wide Action Camera

The Motorola One Action was just announced and its unique feature, the Action Cam, is the focus of the first promo videos. You can read our review for an in-depth look into the phone and its cameras, but if you only have a minute, check out this video: It's shot in 21:9, of course. That's the aspect ratio of the phone's screen and you can set the Action Cam to record 21:9 video too, which works especially well with the 117° ultra wide-angle lens. Chances are that you'll be on the move when using the Action Camera, so video stabilization is important. There's no OIS, but here's a...

Motorola One Action review

The Motorola One Action unveiled with an ultrawide camera, 21:9 screen

Action cams may be the one species of digital cameras that retained its popularity in the age of smartphones. They are characterized by wide-angle lenses and 60fps video recording, geared towards capturing action-packed clips. But the action cams may soon follow their point-and-shoot cousins into the great beyond if phones like this one become popular. The Motorola One Action gets its name from the unique Action Camera on its back. It has a 117° ultrawide angle lens and captures video at 1080p/60. Its 16MP sensor uses 4-in-1 pixel binning to improve image quality in low light and...
