Google Pixel 2 will allegedly ditch the headphone jack
Google's Pixel and Pixel XL both have 3.5mm headphone jacks, but their successors might not. A new unconfirmed rumor is now claiming as much, and it's apparently based on "an internal Google document". The nature of that documentation hasn't been shared because it would put the source of this leak at risk, allegedly. While we don't get a picture of said document, we are told that "the language used presents the removal of the jack as a matter of fact" - so this isn't something that Google is just considering at the moment, instead the decision has already been made. That said, all of this...
Nokia flagship with Snapdragon 835 lands in June in two sizes, rumor says
Nokia has introduced two new smartphones at MWC recently, but neither of those is the flagship offering many have been hoping for. However, the brand is clearly working on a top of the line device of its own, judging by the number of leaks we've seen regarding a Nokia 8. And now we may know when to expect this to hit the market. According to a new rumor out of China, Nokia will release its flagship smartphone in June. This will come in two different sizes (thus emulating Apple's, Samsung's, and Google's strategies), with similar (if not identical) specs. Both will be powered by Qualcomm's...

We've already seen the recently announced Huawei P10 going up for pre-order in both Spain and the Netherlands, but over in Germany the situation is actually even better. That is, for people who are eager to purchase the Chinese smartphone maker's latest flagship product. It turns out that the silver P10 is already in stock and ready to be shipped to you by online retailer Sparhandy. The price you need to pay for a unit is 599 sans contract, which is a cool 50 below Huawei's recommended retail price. The retailer is also offering the phone bundled with carrier contracts, and if you...
Nokia 3310 pre-orders astonish retailers
Nokia 3310 is a phone that brings a lot of nostalgia and HMD rode this wave perfectly when it announced the resurrection of the legend last week. And interest might be turning to actual sales as people pre-order the phone a lot, according to UK retailer Carphone Warehouse. The retailer saw an "unprecedented level of demand for a feature phone." The levels of pre-registrations on the retailer's website prove that people want to buy the new edition even if it has more differences than similarities to the classic 3310. According to research, interest in the brand jumped...
Huawei P8 Lite (2017) gets another name - P9 Lite (2017)
Huawei wants to flood the global smartphone market with plenty of devices with kind of an unusual strategy - launch one device with different names across different markets. The Huawei P8 Lite (2017) was announced in January for some European markets. Then it reached the coasts of Baltic sea where it was renamed Honor 8 Lite before hitting the Japanese islands with the name Huawei nova lite. And now it appeared on a Turkish website named Huawei P9 Lite (2017). Huawei P9 Lite (2017) MediaMarkt's Turkish website listing of a device called Huawei P9 Lite (2017). At first, we...
Nokia 6 once again sells out instantly in China
HMD Global launched the Nokia 6 in China right after CES without any official event whatsoever. The device smashed various records and reached unexpected numbers of registrations and sellout speeds. The same happened with the latest stock of the 32 GB version of Nokia 6 - it went away in an instant. Nokia 6 officially went global at MWC 2017 in Barcelona, but meanwhile a 32GB version also went online at JD.com for CNY1,499 or approximately $217 and yet again it sold out in a couple of minutes. The device will hit the shelves globally with a 229 price tag for the 3 GB RAM + 32...
LG G6 escapes South Korean on March 22
With the G6 having a headstart over the Samsung Galaxy S8 pair, LG is looking to make best use of its position and maximize early sales. Naturally, the handset will see the light of day on its home Korean market first. There the company already has over 40,000 pre-orders and should start selling the phone as early as March 10. Now a new source claims Israel will be next in line and will get the device starting March 22. We are still unsure how the rest of LG's schedule looks, but we do have some bits and pieces to go by. For instance, Australia is said to get the device on March...

Here's yet another batch of leaked Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ photos
Frankly, this is getting pretty out of hand at this point and its starting to look like Samsung wants the Galaxy S8 pair out there, flooding the rumor space. Mere hours ago, we saw a few pretty detailed shots of the flagship duo and that was just the tip of the leak iceberg. So, here it is, yet another batch of shots for you to feast your eyes on. This time around, we have the basic 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 and its bigger S8+ sibling in the same frame. Lightroom Mobile adds "RAW" HDR capture
Adobe has added a new feature to the Lightroom Mobile app on iOS and Android, which it is calling "RAW" HDR capture. Instead of capturing and saving a single RAW file, it captures three at different exposures and then automatically align, merge, deghost, and tonemap them into a single "RAW" HDR file. The resultant file has greater dynamic range and also low noise. The reason I put RAW in quotes is because by definition this isn't RAW. A RAW file is the raw sensor dump, which isn't altered or processed in anyway by the camera software. It's what the sensor sees and the only thing...
Nokia 3, 5 and 6 all feature VoLTE support
Nokia, or rather its new HMD Global owner, turned a lot of heads at this year's MWC and understandably so. The legendary Finnish brand came back with a bang and one that extends beyond the publicity stunt that is the resurrected Nokia 3310. Premium looks and materials, a decent value-conscious balance of specs and a focus on a pure Android experience, all at a fairly reasonable price point - there is a lot to like about the new Nokia smartphone lineup. We have no doubt that the Nokia 3, 5 and 6 will all be enjoying quite a bit of popularity in the foreseeable future. To make the...
The Huawei P10, P10 Plus and P10 Lite go on pre-order in the Netherlands
We already spotted the Huawei P10 on a shelf in Barcelona, up for pre-order, along with the offer of a free Huawei Watch 2. It turns out Spain isn't the only country already running an early-bird sale for the phone and one of our readers informed us that a few stores in the Netherlands are doing the same. T-mobile, bol.com and Mediamarkt are among them and besides the basic Huawei P10, the latter has already listed the P10 Plus and P10 Lite on its website. All three models are available in black, gold and silver (well, white on the Lite, to be precise) and should start shipping on...
