Verizon may carry Moto E4, according to leaked renders
We've already seen the Moto E4 and E4 Plus launch just a couple of days ago, but what we haven't seen was these press renders of the Moto E4 with Verizon's branding on them. While neither Moto nor Verizon have confirmed availability with the carrier, these renders are pretty strong proof that Big Red might, in fact, be selling the Moto E4 alongside the Moto Z4 Play and the Moto Z2 Force, expected later this summer. The renders show the Moto E4 in black and gold color options. Though, so far we've only caught word of the Moto E4 and not the E4 Plus. While the E4 Plus will make it to Amazon...
Supplier reportedly confirms new iPhone will have wireless charging
We've already heard many rumors about Apple's next iPhone and whether it will support some kind of wireless charging. Today's report comes from Nikkei Asian Review who says that the CEO of Wistron, Robert Hwang, said: Assembly process for the previous generations of [iPhones] have not changed much, though new features like waterproof and wireless charging now require some different testing, and waterproof function will alter the assembly process a bit. This is why we still need to be skeptical with reports like these. If we wanted to speculate on exactly what Hwang said, it's a...
Live photo of the Meizu Pro 7 leaks
With the Meizu Pro 7 just over the horizon, we are getting a better idea of what the unreleased smartphone would look like. A couple of days ago, we saw a leak of a red back panel that confirmed the leaked renders of the Meizu Pro 7 with a secondary display on its back. Today, a new live photo of the Meizu Pro 7 has leaked, showing what the e-ink display on the back looks like. The photo shows the back of a black unit (which makes it harder to see) with the backlit e-ink rear display showing the time, date, weather, and a couple of shortcuts for the camera and dialer. Right above this...
Google hires chief chip architect from Apple
Manu Gulati was a chief Apple micro-architect who just changed his employer to Google on LinkedIn. This could mean significant changes are coming to the Pixel devices in the next years. With adding such specialist on board, Google is hinting on either developing its own SoC or thinking of new ways to improve how the current ones work. Google still doesn't have an in-house chipset - the Google Pixel is running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon, and the Nest home automation system uses a chip by Texas Instruments. Google is already posting many SoC-related job offers. It is currently looking...
Latest leaked image shows us one corner of the OnePlus 5
Yesterday we showed you a leaked render of the OnePlus 5 that portrayed the entire height of the handset, unlike a previous one. However, it still didn't actually reveal all because of how dark it was. Today a new render has been leaked, and this one is incredibly specific. It shows just one corner of the phone, as seen from the back. This is the top right corner when looking at the rear of the device, it's the one that doesn't have the dual camera arrangement nearby. So what do we see? Once again, iPhone 7-like antenna bands. We also get a close-up glimpse at how the back of the...
Samsung Galaxy Note FE may not launch before the end of July
A couple of days ago a report from Samsung's home of South Korea told us to expect the refurbished Galaxy Note7 units to make their debut over there on July 7, branded as Galaxy Note FE (Fan Edition). Today however a new revelation comes from unnamed industry sources, claiming that release date was way too optimistic. Once again, the culprit for Samsung not being able to make that is said to be a steep increase in demand (from Korean carriers, presumably) which meant the company will produce 450,000 units compared to the originally intended 300,000. Two days ago this has been said to have...

Google has sold around 1 million Pixel smartphones
Google doesn't officially disclose the number of units sold and in the case of the Pixel smartphones that's particularly irksome. However the company's Play Store gives us a pretty accurate estimate of how many Pixel and Pixel XL phones Google has sold. See Google's Play Store gives a range number for app installs and in the case of the Pixel Launcher app that number just passed from the threshold from the 500,000 - 1,000,000 to 1,000,000-5,000,000 meaning that Google has sold around 1 million Pixel smartphones since their launch some 8 months ago. The Pixel Launcher is exclusive...
Galaxy S8 duo pronounced best smartphones by Consumer Reports
The independent analysts from Consumer Reports reviewed the Galaxy S8 duo and delivered their verdict. In short, the phones are outstanding, but the price tag might keep many consumers away. Starting from the design, Consumer Reports mention the lack of bezels and how they allow a larger screen to fit within the same footprint. The dual-curved screen-dominated front also contributes to the "minimalist, modern, and elegant" design. Consumer Reports praises the battery life, with the Galaxy S8+ scoring higher than the Galaxy S8. Consumer Reports even put the devices in a...
