Earlier this week, reports sparked of OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei’s apparent departure from the company. As of Friday, the news is official as per a farewell letter posted to the OnePlus forums. Thank you. @PeteLau @oneplus https://t.co/2RD9AdyWhO— Carl Pei (@getpeid) October 16, 2020 After nearly 7 years at OnePlus, I’ve made the difficult decision to say goodbye. I grew up spending tremendous amounts of time on the internet, building products and communities. Seeing that ideas in one’s mind could be turned into reality and impact people’s lives gave me lots of joy, and I knew...

OnePlus 8T video teardown goes hunting for the two batteries inside

The OnePlus 8T became official this week, and we've already seen it subjected to JerryRigEverything's trademark 'durability test', right on the day of the event. But what if you wanted to go deeper? Inside the device? To see what it looks like under all that fancy glass and metal? Well, for that purpose, the same Zack has you covered with this here teardown video, in which he goes hunting for the two batteries inside. Two batteries has to do with how Warp Charge 65 works, itself merely a licensed Oppo technology. Think of this 65W system as two 32.5W systems working in parallel to...

So, without further ado, here it is: The vivo V20 is definitely interesting in its own right, with its upper-midrange specs and premium-looking design, and it's due to go on sale in just...

Sony Xperia 1 II in new Mirror Lake Green color is headed to Taiwan with more RAM

Sony's Xperia 1 II has so far been offered in black and purple, but soon there will be a rather intriguing third color version. The 1 II in Mirror Lake Green is apparently headed to Taiwan, due to be officially unveiled for that market on October 20. The new hue is definitely interesting looking, but looks are not all here. This green Xperia 1 II is also going to up the RAM amount, from the 8GB featured in the other two colors, all the way up to 12GB. It's unclear at the moment if this means we should expect to see a higher price for the green model, but that wouldn't be surprising...

Apple to introduce the first ARM-powered Macs on November 17

This month Apple is dealing with the first iPhone 12 pre-orders and sales, starting with the 12 and 12 Pro. The other two will come next month, but November will be marked with another major event – the official introduction of Apple-powered MacBooks. The company announced that it will be moving away from Intel and towards its own silicon back in June during the WWDC. However, the only actual hardware unveiled that day was the Mac mini-based Developer Transition Toolkit, powered by an Apple A12Z Bionic. Leakster Jon Prosser reports that the ARM Mac event is scheduled for November 17. He...

The reasoning behind the potential new release schedule is still unknown though it’s...

The design of the X-S10 is meant to appeal to DSLR owners, hence the new deeper grip. Some of the dedicated control dials on top have been replaced with customizable blank dials. The design is smaller and lighter than X-T4 and features a...

AnTuTu scores suggest iPhone 12 chipset is downclocked, GPU is slower than on the 11-series

Yesterday we saw the first AnTuTu scores from the Apple A14 Bionic inside the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro. Now results have come out for the same chipset, except this time powering an iPad Air (2020) and they are much higher. In the past we’ve see X versions of Apple’s chipsets used in iPad Pros, e.g. the A12X had two extra large cores and a beefier GPU. But as far as we know this is not the case with the new Air and the iPhone 12 series, both use the standard Apple A14 chipset. There is an Apple A14X on the way, but that chip is reportedly intended for the new MacBooks. AnTuTu tests...

The company has acquired 3C's approval for a phone with the model number SM-G9910 which is likely the vanilla Galaxy S21. The listing reveals 25W charging, matching the Galaxy S20's capabilities. We are pretty sure this is the smallest Galaxy S21 because of the model number - the Galaxy S20 arrived with SM-G981X model codes. The last symbol, in this case the digit 0, indicates the market where a certain device is heading to. Sadly, the listing does not say...

Hum to search is triggered when you ask Google “what is this song?” and then proceed to perform bits of the tune to your best abilities. After you’re done, Google will present you actual songs based on a percentage match score which it thinks comes closest to your performance. Google says its machine learning algorithms transforms the audio input into a number-based sequence which it then matches to other song melodies and tries to find the closest one. The model was...
