Vodafone UK starts offering BlackBerry KEYone

The UK was the very first market where the BlackBerry KEYone was launched, something which happened back in April this year. Selfridges (Oxford Street, London) got to sell the device first, followed by Carphone Warehouse and other retailers. Now, Vodafone has started selling the phone in the country. A quick look at the carrier's official UK website reveals the handset can be purchased for as low as £10 upfront followed by £52 a month. Of course, there are several other plans available. The handset seems to be in high demand, at-least in the US, where it launched late last month and...

Asus Zenfone AR will launch on June 14 as per invitation

The Asus Zenfone AR was first announced back in January at CES in Vegas. That was several months ago and the Tango-enabled phone still isn't out yet. Late last month, it was reported that the Asus handset would launch in Taiwan in mid-June and the United States' launch is to follow shortly thereafter. A media invitation going around confirms the first report. The Zenfone AR will be announced in Taiwan on June 14 and the event will mention two variants, one with 8GB of RAM and the other with 6GB. We can safely assume the variant headed to the US will have 6GB of RAM. The Asus Zenfone AR...

After having launched it in the US, Samsung is now getting ready to release the Galaxy Book in the UK. The 12-inch Galaxy Book only comes with Wi-Fi, and it's much more expensive because it has a lot better innards. You can buy one for £1,099 if you don't mind it...

Unlocked Galaxy S8 and S8+ are already almost $100 cheaper in the US through open box deals

If you like your Android updates to be as timely as possible (at least for Samsung), then you might be wary of picking up an unlocked Galaxy S8 or S8+, given the fact that their predecessors were long ignored by their maker on the software front. But if you don't care about any of that and just don't want to pick an S8 or S8+ up from a carrier, Best Buy already has some deals for you on the unlocked units. These launched stateside at the end of May, but it looks like some people have already returned some phones without actually having used them. That's because Best Buy is offering...

Xiaomi Redmi 4a review: Economy Basic

With an asking price of about $100, the Redmi 4a is obviously at the very bottom of the company lineup - which pretty much equals the lowest there is in the smartphone food chain. If reputations are made or undone in the flagship category, the Redmi 4a must be well on the safe side being the polar opposite. We don't think this disclaimer is even needed but Xiaomi's entry level should be pretty much under most people's radar. It would've slipped under ours too was it not for a sudden spike in popularity in our charts.

iCloud 2TB plan becomes 50% cheaper, replaces 1TB option

Apple's cloud storage service, aptly named iCloud, has gone through some changes in the past 24 hours. The company has decided to discontinue the 1TB plan, but this actually isn't bad news at all. For the same $9.99 per month that you'd have to pay to get 1TB of storage up until this point, you'll now receive 2TB instead. The 2TB plan used to cost $19.99, so this means great savings for those who've already been using it. And for people who used to have the 1TB option, another TB is available for the same price. iCloud's free storage remains pretty limited at 5GB, and the other paid...

Newly leaked OnePlus 5 images show it looking a lot like the iPhone 7 Plus

Remember the days when Apple was suing Samsung because it thought the Korean company copied the design of its iPhones? Well, if the newly leaked image you can see below turns out to accurately represent the upcoming OnePlus 5, the Cupertino-based company might want to look into doing something similar with this Chinese upstart. The shot allegedly shows the back and sides of the OnePlus 5, a handset we just found out is officially launching on June 20. So we're definitely close enough to its unveiling for this to plausibly be an accurate leak. On the other hand, the similarity of...

WhatsApp for iOS now does photo filters, albums, and reply shortcuts

Despite the fact that they're all owned by Facebook, if you compare the frequency with which Instagram and Facebook Messenger add new features to WhatsApp, well, the latter doesn't fare well at all. That said, today might be the day when WhatsApp starts trying to get with the times in this regard. Its iOS app has received an update that brings three new features with it. First off, when you share four or more photos or videos they will be automatically grouped together in an album. This should make your chats look more organized, since you won't get that view showing multiple in-line items...

It's official: the OnePlus 5 will be announced on June 20

A short while ago a leak indicated that June 20 could be the day of the unveiling for the much-anticipated, oft-rumored, and highly hyped OnePlus 5. And today the Chinese company itself has decided to confirm this information, officially revealing that it will announce its next flagship smartphone on that date. It's sent an email to its newsletter subscribers, telling them to get ready for the online event taking place on June 20. It will happen at 12 PM EDT, with an official keynote being live streamed across the internet. Following that, the company is organizing a number of pop-up...

The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) boasts splash resistance (IP54), which the other two lack. It's also the only one with a 1080p screen (5.5"), though the whole family comes with Super AMOLED panels. Understanding the ProMotion display on the new Apple iPad Pro

Yesterday, Apple announced the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro and 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2nd generation. Among the many new advancements announced on stage, one that struck us as the most prominent was ProMotion. ProMotion is Apple's name for the adaptive high refresh rate display on the two new iPad models, which can now go up to 120Hz compared to 60Hz on every other mobile device on the market. This is a game changer feature but to understand the importance of it we need to take a look at the current refresh rate standard, 60Hz. 60Hz (or technically 59.94Hz) was chosen as a refresh rate for...

Huawei Honor Band 3 to be unveiled June 12, shortly after the Band A2

Huawei has another smartband in the works - the Honor Band 3. A press invite entices journalist to attend the June 12 unveiling (this Monday) without giving away too much about the band itself. Some water splash effects hint at what could easily be guessed - IP67 water resistance similar to the recent Honor Band A2. The Band 3 (no "A") is a more premium product, so it could have even better waterproofing. With that in mind, it's also expected to be pricier than the A2, which is an admittedly low bar - CNY 200 ($30/€25). The Honor Band 3 should have smartphone connectivity (Android an...

Two Exynos chipsets leak: 9610 with Cortex-A73 and Mali-G72, plus a China-focused 7872

Samsung could be working on the first Exynos 9xxx series chipset. Rather than a flagship-grade chip, this is a mid-ranger aimed at the Snapdragon 660. Then there's the Exynos 7872, which is something of a Snapdragon 650 alternative. Exynos 9610 Dubbed Exynos 9610, this chip will be made on the established 14nm LPP process (which was used in the Exynos 8890 for the Galaxy S7). It will have an octa-core processor based on ARM's Cortex-A73 and A53 (four of each). For one reason or another, Samsung didn't use its custom Mongoose cores for this one (the S660 does use Qualcomm's Kryo...
