The event will be streamed starting 12:30PM IST (7AM UTC) on Realme's YouTube channel. You can follow it with us by tuning to the stream below. The Realme C12 and C15 are both powered by the Helio G35 SoC, sport 6.5" HD+ displays, and pack 6,000 mAh batteries. However, the C12 charges at up to 10W, whereas the C15 gets 18W support. The US bans 38 Huawei affiliate companies that evaded the Huawei ban

On Monday, the US BIS (Bureau of Industry and Security) within the Department of Commerce has announced that it will further limit Huawei from accessing US chips. According to the press release, Huawei has been able to circumvent the ban by purchasing American components through third-party companies. The US Department of commerce will ban 38 companies all directly affiliated with Huawei across 21 countries, which have been used to go around the US ban that the Trump Administration extended through May 2021, according to the BIS. As we have restricted [Huawei’s] access to U.S....

A new Oppo A53 is coming soon, specs leak

Mid-range smartphones definitely have a quick turnaround these days, so with that in mind it makes sense that Oppo is already working on the A53, which is intended to be the successor to the A52 that launched just a few months ago, in April. Weirdly enough the new A53 will share its name with a different Oppo phone that saw the light of day in 2015. Apparently the company thinks five years is enough time that no one would be confused by such a move. Anyway, today a purported list of specs of the new Oppo A53 has leaked, and you can see it above. The phone is said to sport a...

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ review

Alleged Sony Xperia 5 II renders surface, but there's a problem

While the second generation Xperia 10 improved significantly, it’s still not a replacement for a proper Xperia 5 II flagship. Unfortunately, Sony has made no mention of such a phone - however, a few cases have surfaced on Alibaba, revealing a possible design. Alleged Sony Xperia 5 II renders The images show what is essentially a smaller Xperia 1 II with the recognizable 21:9 aspect ratio of the display with classic bezels. There’s a fingerprint reader on the side plus a 3.5 mm headphone jack on top. Around the back we find a triple camera that seems lifted strait off the...

OnePlus, Oppo, Huawei, Samsung and Sony phones win EISA 2020-2021 awards

The EISA committee has examined the smartphones that launched this year and awarded the best among them – here are the winners. The OnePlus 8 Pro got the Best Smartphone award. The panel of judges was impressed with how the handset blends design and cutting-edge features, highlighting the 120 Hz 1440p+ display, Warp Charge 30 Wireless and the IP68-rated body with a soft-touch finish. The Best Advanced Smartphone award went to the Oppo Find X2 Pro – the vegan leather proved to be a winner. The EISA team calls this “OPPO’s best smartphone yet” and is also fond of the 120 Hz HDR display,...

Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra survives durability test

As with most new phones coming out, JerryRigEverything decided to put the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra through the usual durability crash test. Spoiler alert, the phone handles most of the torture except the burn test which leaves a chunk of the display permanently damaged. We also get to see the new Corning Gorilla Glass Victus in action which manages to provide the same protection as previous generations’ with scratches appearing at a level 6 on Mohs hardness scale. Also, we get an-depth look at the S Pen stylus and its innards including its tiny lithium-titanate (LTO) battery at...

OnePlus is working on a 18 W charger, presumably for a cheaper Nord

TÜV Rheinland certified a OnePlus charger that outputs a maximum of 9 Volts at 2 Amps, which equals to 18 Watts. That’s a pretty common number for QuickCharge and USB Power Delivery chargers, but it’s odd to see it on a OnePlus-branded product. So far we’ve only seen two varieties of fast chargers from the company – 20 Watts (5 V, 4 A) and 30 Watts (5 V, 6 A). Keeping the voltage low is a major feature of the technology as it reduces heat. This new charger is clearly not part of the Warp/Dash family. OnePlus has hinted at plans to introduce more affordable smartphones after the Nord...

Asus Zenfone 7 series to launch on August 26

Asus has revealed the launch date for its Zenfone 7 series which will take place next week, on August 26. The event will be held in Taiwan and Asus’s official YouTube channel will broadcast the live stream which starts at 2 PM local time. We’re expecting two phones at the event with a vanila and Pro version powered by the Snapdragon 865 and 865+ respectively. Both phones are expected to carry over the motorized flip camera from their predecessor though a hint in the livestream thumbnail suggests we’re in for a four lens setup this time around. Previously, both the Zenfone 7 and its...

Check out the official Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra teardown video

Xiaomi launched the Mi 10 Ultra with mind-blowing 120W wired fast-charging. The phone is unlikely to escape China raising the question whether we’ll be able to see a proper teardown on YouTube, revealing the heat dissipation situation. Thankfully, the company itself posted a neat video where the device is stripped down to its internals, showcasing even more details than we would’ve seen in any third-party video. The clip is about two minutes and is pretty straightforward - there are no cheap jokes or puns, just animations, closeups, and details. The first thing we see when removing...

The Nokia 5.3 will launch in India on August 25, 5310 now available

HMD has not forgotten about the Nokia 5.3 – months after it was announced, the phone is finally ready to launch in India. The event is scheduled for the 25th (that’s Tuesday next week) and things being what they are right now, it will be a virtual briefing (using Microsoft Teams). The company sent out invites to the press that don’t reveal the price, which is the one unknown (also, there’s no mention of the Nokia 8.3 and 1.3). For the Indian market the latest entry in the 5-series is the 5.1 Plus from the distant 2018 – jokes aside, it has been a while since HMD updated its mid-range...

Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition renders confirm flat screen, but it will measure 6.4-6.5 inches

An image of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (or S20 FE for short) leaked earlier this month and it suggested that the phone will have a flat screen. The dynamic duo of @OnLeaks and Pricebaba released CAD-based renders that confirm this and give us a more detailed view of the phone. Interestingly, the screen size is between 6.4 and 6.5 inches, meaning it falls between the Galaxy S20 (6.2”) and the S20+ (6.7”). The selfie camera is in a centered punch hole, matching the rest of Samsung’s upscale lineup. Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (unofficial CAD-based renders) However,...

Oppo A92s to arrive on the global stage as Reno4 Z 5G

A new Oppo midranger has been certified by the Global Certification Forum under the market name Reno4 Z 5G. The model number is CPH2065, revealing the very same device has already received approval by the Bluetooth SIG and the Federal Communications Commission. According to previous leaks, the CPH2065 phone has the same specifications as the Oppo A92s 5G, meaning it could escape China under a new disguise. Oppo Reno4 Z 5G certification Even if rebranded, the phone will be the very same Dimensity 800-powered handset with 6.57” LCD in front. On the back, there will be four cameras,...

Huawei teases the new MateBook X Pro for August 19

Exactly one week ago a renowned tipster revealed that Huawei will be announcing a new laptop on August 19 but a new MateBook X Pro wasn't on the suspect's list. Now Huawei confirms that the MateBook X Pro is indeed getting a major update. The teaser video talks about how thin and light it is meaning that it's probably better than its predecessor in terms of portability. Previous rumors also suggest that the screen will have absurdly thin bezels almost as if it's a floating screen. And resolution would be bumped up to 3K. We are just two days away from the Chinese announcement...

Huawei FreeLace Pro Wireless headphones leak in full, price and box in tow

A famous Weibo leakster shared two photos of the upcoming Huawei FreeLace Pro wireless headphones revealing almost everything we would like to know about the pair. Including some of the features. Judging by the front of the box, there are some prominent design changes in the design compared to the older FreeLace headphones. Turning the box around reveals that the buds themselves support gesture controls on top of the already existing hardware controls placed on the neck band. And the USB-C charging from the neck band directly is here to stay, which is one of the best features of the...

Realme C11 is coming to Europe on August 26

The Realme C11 is officially coming to Europe – that’s the big reveal after several days of #DareToBe teasers on Twitter. The launch is scheduled for the morning of August 26 and while we know all the specs (unless there are regional variations), information about the price will likely be revealed at the launch event. The phone was unveiled at the end of June, initially for Malaysia, but then it went on sale in India on July 14, where it did pretty well and sold 150K units in 2 minutes. The price in both Malaysia and India works out to around €90 after currency conversion. We expect...

The two devices are virtually identical though the Pro brings a marquee 120W fast wired charging and a periscope module around its back. You’ll also find the Pro version in exclusive BMW M Motorsport flavors with back finishes in carbon black and white leather with BMW’s blue and red accents colors to commemorate the budding partnership between the two brands. Both iQOO 5 series phones come with curved 6.56-inch AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and punch hole cutout in...

Samsung planning big move of smartphone production to India

According to a new report from The Economic Times, Samsung is gearing up to move a sizeable chunk of its production line to India. According to sources close to the matter, Samsung already disclosed plans to the Indian government under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) to produce phones worth over $40 billion (Rs 3 lakh crore) during the next five years in India. The majority of phones made in India with a price above $200 (Rs 15,000) will be exported. The move will come at the expense of Vietnam, which is another hub in Samsung’s production efforts and is currently its...

Oppo brings Reno4 Pro 5G Artist Limited Edition in collaboration with James Jean

Oppo announced the Reno4 Pro 5G in China back in June in no less than five different colors. Now, another option is up for sale, but it is a bit more special - it is designed by the world-famous visual artist James Jean and is called Reno4 Pro 5G Artist Limited Edition. The new variant comes with a beautiful drawing on the back and two new UI themes to complement the looks of the phone. The project is called SoleLuna (Sun and Moon in Latin) and depicts “a summer carnival of dreams, an escape into a prismatic realm of adventure and discovery”, as James Jean put it in his...
