OnePlus entering Australian smartphone market, OnePlus 5 launch set for this month
Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has announced that it's officially entering the Australian smartphone market. The announcement came in the form of a post on the company's official forums by none other than co-founder Carl Pei. He also revealed that the OnePlus 5 will land in the country sometime later this month. It will be a soft launch though - "the goal will be to test our product and supply chain, and we'll be opening up a limited trial run for sales," Pei explained. He further added that the team OnePlus will be visiting Melbourne and Sydney in September to take user...

The new Samsung flip phone is now official for China Mobile
Samsung has kept making phones in the clamshell form factor, though the only market that really sees these is China. Samsung has released the W2017 flip phone late last year and a successor is making its way to China Mobile. This is the new Samsung G-9298, also called the "Leadership 8" (translated from Chinese). The Leadership 8 looks to be an incremental update to aforementioned W2017 flip phone. The most notable updates are a slightly improved Snapdragon 821CPU, and a 12MP camera with a wider f/1.7 aperture to let more light in. The front facing camera is 5MP with an f/1.9...
OpenSignal's Q2 evaluation of US carriers ranks T-Mobile at the top
Open Signal released a report of the performance of all four major US carriers in the US: Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. T-Mobile takes the cake overall in LTE and 3G speeds and latency, download speed overall, and overall LTE availability. T-Mobile and Verizon were both very close in metrics. In fact, in most markets tested, both T-Mobile and Verizon were either tied or outright won. Sure there were markets where T-Mobile didn't do well and we're sure there are markets where Verizon beats T-Mobile. Based on over 5 billion test results between March 21 and June 29, T-Mobile took the...

Microsoft is working on an iPad Touch Cover, official document reveals
Here's an interesting idea: how about a Microsoft Touch Cover for that iPad? Does that sound far-fetched to you? Well, it definitely doesn't to Microsoft, because through an official document relating to lithium battery transport information it has confirmed that it is working on such an accessory. There's a small catch, however. Said document (a relevant excerpt of which you can see below) dates back to April. So there's a chance that the project has since been scrapped. Let's assume it hasn't, just for argument's sake, and see what a Microsoft-made iPad Touch Cover might...

Honor Note 9 rumored to come with 4,600 mAh battery, two 12 MP cameras on the rear
For Huawei's online-only sub-brand, what comes after the Honor 9 is probably the Honor Note 9 - at least if we go by what happened last year with their respective predecessors, the Honor 8 and Honor Note 8. The latter of those two got official in August 2016, so perhaps it's high time we see an Honor Note 9 being announced? That very well may be, since the first leak regarding the upcoming device has already surfaced. A source in China claims the Honor Note 9 will boast a huge 4,600 mAh battery, 100 mAh larger than its predecessor's. The Honor Note 9 should be powered by the...

AT&T confirms Galaxy S8 Active is on the way, still won't make it official
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active for AT&T still isn't official, despite the pouring rain of leaks we've seen about it over the past few weeks. We got official press renders and full specs already, but the carrier seems intent on postponing the launch as much as possible. Funnily, though, that hasn't prevented AT&T from confirming the fact that the Galaxy S8 Active is a real device indeed, and one that's definitely coming soon. Seen below is an excerpt from the FAQ section for a promotion that's gone live at AT&T. This, by the way, is still available on the company's website, at the Source...
Samsung Galaxy Note8 'final' specs leak in full
Samsung is officially unveiling the Galaxy Note8 phablet on August 23. That's exactly three weeks from today for what it's worth. And with just three weeks to go until the grand event, today what are purported to be the phone's "final" specs have been leaked in full by the usually reliable Evan Blass. So here's what you can expect. As evidenced by the leaked press renders below, the Note8's design will be similar to that of the Galaxy S8+, but not identical. For example, the corners are more squared-off (including those of the screen). And then there's obviously the addition of the S Pen...
