OnePlus Bullets Wireless Review

The Bullets Wireless is OnePlus' first foray into the world of wireless headphones. They are also only the third pair of earphones released by the company, the first two being wired. You could say the company is still relatively new at this, especially at wireless audio. But with headphone jacks quickly disappearing from phones, there was never a better time to get into this business. Launched alongside the OnePlus 6, the Bullets Wireless are now officially on sale. We've had them for a few days now and here's what I think about them. Design The Bullets Wireless has a...

Week 24 in review: Bezelless vivo NEX duo is official, Oppo Find X leaks

What was just a concept in the spring has come to life as an actual product in the summer - the vivo NEX is now official in two distinct flavors. The NEX S and NEX A were announced this week and we went hands-on with them. Schematics of two sizes of next-gen iPhones surfaced and it appears the future iPhone X Plus will be smaller than the 8 Plus we have now. And rumor has it, Apple may adopt USB-C for next year's iPhones, though we somehow can't see it replacing the Lightning connector at the phone end of the cable. The Asus ROG phone showed up in benchmarks posting higher numbers than...

Weekly poll: vivo NEX phones, hot or not?

Jaws dropped as vivo unveiled the APEX with its pop up camera and under display fingerprint sensor. It was just a prototype, but the company quickly followed up with actual devices - the NEX S and NEX A. And these aren't some halo phones like Huawei's Mate RS Porsche Design, these are proper mass market handsets - and they are even reasonably priced. The vivo NEX S is the flagship of the bunch with a price in China equivalent to $700/€600. Not bad for a Snapdragon 845 device. Perhaps vivo's experience with the X20 UD an X21 UD helped it keep costs down (most other companies don't have...

Top 10 trending phones of week 24

At a time when the number 1 and 2 remain the same as last week, a new number 3 is still exciting news. That would be the Samsung Galaxy J6, climbing two spots to join the Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Mi 8 on the podium. The OnePlus 6 seems to be bolted in fourth - that's its third week in there after claiming the top spot 4 weeks ago and quickly slipping into second the following one. The biggest gainer this week has to be the Redmi S2 (a.k.a. Redmi Y2) - entering the chart last week in 9th, it's now all the way up in 5th. The Galaxy A6+ (2018) is the second Samsung to climb two spots...

Smartphone World Cup: Groups C and D

Here come the next two groups of our Smartphone World Cup (groups A and B are here. Group C The Apple iPhone X wasn't the first phone with a notch, but it's the phone that made all other notched handsets possible - once factories geared up for Apple's demands, they also made the tech more affordable for others. The iPhone X is also behind the push for face unlock and it was the first phone that does it right. It required a whole Kinect to be minified and put into the notch, but it's more advanced than iris scanners, not to mention the phones that just use the selfie cam. But, boy, is...
