As expected, LG has launched its mobile payments service LG Pay to compete with similar offerings by other major players such as Samsung. However, unlike Samsung Pay (which is uses Magnetic Secure Transmission technology), LG's service is based on Wireless Magnetic Communication tech. Users of LG Pay will be able to make payments by touching their phones to regular credit card devices. However, they'll be required to scan their fingerprints before each transaction. The service has been launched in South Korea, where it currently supports four credit card brands, including Shinhan,...

Nokia 9 appears on GeekBench again, this time with 4GB of RAM
Twenty-seven new GeekBench results have appeared for a device named "Unknown heart", complete with a Snapdragon 835 chipset and 4GB of RAM. Thanks to some other leaked photos we've seen, we know that the "Heart" refers to the unreleased/unannounced Nokia 9. Just a few days ago, the Nokia 9 was spotted on GeekBench with 8GB of RAM. Seeing that much RAM in a phone could only mean that the phone could be headed for the spec-competitive Asian markets. But seeing as there's another model being tested with 4GB of RAM, it could mean the Nokia 9 will also be intended for western markets like North...
LG will reportedly release a G6 Pro and G6 Plus in Korea
The LG G6 launched earlier this year and has received generally positive reviews (see ours here). According to a new report from South Korean site etnews, LG may be planning to launch two additional G6 models, initially for its home market of Korea. The site doesn't cite any sources, so we'll have to proceed with skepticism. According to the report, LG will release a G6 Plus and G6 Pro to be sold alongside the LG G6. The G6 Plus would feature wireless charging capabilities and come with a larger 128GB of internal storage and a higher price at 1,000,000 Won (~$891). Meawhile, the G6...
Huawei P10 Lite review: Travel light
Huawei's Lites are not unlike Samsung's Minis. They have little in common with the flagship, save for the name prefix that is, and more with riding the hype bandwagon. Oh well, flagships are always expected to pull more than just their own weight. That said, the Huawei P10 Lite does travel light and we don't just mean it carries one camera less. But it sure arrives in style.

HMD confirms Nokia 6, 5 and 3 will get Android O
The Nokia 6 and friends were sold on the promise that the company will take Android updates seriously. Sticking to that promise, HMD Global has officially confirmed that the 6, 5 and 3 will be updated to Android O. Presumably this extends to other devices that may launch soon. Google is still tinkering with Android O, it is slated to launch sometime the third quarter of this year. And then it will take some time for HMD to port the new OS over to its phones - the company did not commit to any time frames. The hope is that the mostly pure implementation of Android that the Nokias use...
Moto Z Play 2 goes official along with new Moto Mods

There will also be a few new Moto Mods to go with it. Crucially, the phone is also thinner by about 1mm compared to its predecessor. The frame of the phone is the same dimensions,...

Google announced new features for its Assistant and Home services last month at its keynote in Mountain View. According to Mary Meeker, an analyst from KPCB, Google's engine reached 95% accurate recognition, which is a level identical to humans. The recognition rate jumped 20% in four years and will continue to go up since Google now has voice recognition even in Google Translate and the company will keep collecting and analyzing voice data. The analyst also shared statistics that...
Galaxy S8+ leaks in Pink, Galaxy S8 gets official Pirates of the Caribbean version
For the Samsung Galaxy S8+, the Gold color option had a Maple flavor. That could change soon, with a Rose Gold version appearing in an unverified leaked render. Only the Galaxy S8+ was pictured, but there's little reason to believe the color will be exclusive to the larger version. Anyway, the S8 duo has been missing a pink hue. That was the case with the S7 generation too, a Pink Gold variant was made available a few months after launch. We'll wait for an official confirmation, though, there was talk of an Amethyst version that never materialized. Samsung Galaxy S8+ in Rose Gold...
