Watch the Motorola Razr Indian launch live here

The Motorola Razr 2019 will launch in India today. As is the norm these days it will be an online event that will be livestreamed. Below you can find the YouTube stream, but you can also watch on Facebook if you prefer. The event starts at 12.30pm local time - 7AM UTC. The official shipping date and price should be announced at the event (and we'll report on them as soon as they are revealed). The Moto Razr first became available in the US in mid-February after a delay. We spent some time with it, so you can check out our thoughts on the phone. This is Moto's first phone launch in...

Top 10 trending phones of week 11

Redmi was the big winner of week 11, its newly unveiled Note 9 duo immediately gathering enough attention to shoot straight to the top of our trending chart. Interestingly enough, the Pro version edged the Pro Max. In third we have the upcoming Huawei P40 Pro Premium, which is the living proof that people are still following the Chinese maker closely and its divorce with Google might not be the end for it as a smartphone maker. Last week's leaders follow in the next three positions and they have retained their order - the Realme 6 Pro sits ahead of Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and Redmi...

OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Pro long-term review

The OnePlus TV is a bit of an oddball product for the company. Not just because it's the only product that they makes that isn't a smartphone or an accessory, and it is still exclusive to India, but also because it's the only product in recent memory from them that didn't impress us when we reviewed it. In our initial review, we felt that the TV was expensive, had numerous shortcomings and the performance didn't live up to our expectations. Five months after launch, a few things have changed. OnePlus has continued to work to mitigate some of the shortcomings of the TV through software...

Week 11 in review: Redmi Note 9 Pro and Pro Max are here, Pixel 4a leaks

The highlight of the past week was the announcement of the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max. Both have 6.67-inch LCD screens and huge 5,020mAh batteries but they differ in camera hardware. ?The Redmi Note 9 Pro will go on sale on March 17 while the Pro Max will follow on March 25. The other big story was the upcoming Google Pixel 4a's appearance in the wild as well as the leak of its pricing. Google's cheaper Pixel will have a punch hole camera on the front and a single rear camera. It will also retain the $399 starting price of the current Pixel 3a. The Huawei P40 Pro was in the...

Weekly poll: Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro borrow features from the X-series, but do you want one?

While Realme has waded into the flagship battle, the company's mid-rangers are still its most desirable products as they offer great value for money. The Realme 6 went on sale this Wednesday and the Pro on Friday, so we wanted to ask - will you be picking one up and which one? The Realme 6 and the 6 Pro borrow several features from the company's budding flagship line, the X-series, so the two phones feel tangibly more premium than the Realme 5 and 5 Pro. For one, both phones now have 1080p display panels. Better yet, they feature 90Hz refresh rate and 120Hz touch sampling. Also, Realme...

Flashback: the headphone jack has been around for over 100 years, still has a place on phones

The 3.5mm headphone jack is a dying breed - most smartphone manufacturers are skipping it, especially on higher-end devices. But its story deserves to be told, the jack has been around almost as long as phones, its original use was in 19th century switchboards when human operators manually connected your call. They needed a way to easily make and break electrical connection that carry audio. Today's use of the jack is much the same, even if most audio lives in the digital domain (of course, it's inevitably transformed into an analog signal before it can reach your ears). Phone jacks...

Realme 6i confirmed to feature waterdrop notch display, 16MP selfie camera and 5,000 mAh battery

The Realme 6i is set to be unveiled on March 17 and the company has already revealed that the smartphone will come with the Helio G80 SoC, 48MP quad camera and 18W fast charging. Now Realme has revealed that 6i will pack a 5,000 mAh battery, which from a previous teaser we know will charge through a USB-C port. The 6i will sport a 16MP selfie shooter, which is an upgrade over the 5i's 8MP front camera. However, this snapper will be housed inside a waterdrop notch, unlike the 6 and 6 Pro's selfie cameras that are placed inside punch holes in the top-left corner of their...

Huawei P40 Lite in for review

Huawei has made it a habit to release the Lite version of its flagship series before the actual flagships, and such is the case with the P40 Lite as well. The phone was initially launched as nova 6 SE in Asia, but was upgraded to a part of the P40 portfolio in Europe and other markets. The phone finally arrived with us for a review, but until that's complete here are our initial impressions. The Huawei P40 Lite is arriving with a Kirin 810 chipset, meaning it is an entirely new platform that is relying on Huawei Mobile Services instead of Google Mobile Services. Huawei is busy...

Weekly poll results: Oppo Find X2 Pro sees a lot of love, the X2 not so much

Last week Oppo finally announced the successor to the 2018 Oppo Find X. In fact, we now have two successors - the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro. As the name implies, the Pro model adds a couple of extra features on top of the vanilla and it's generally considered to be the proper flagship. And it's by far the better loved of the duo. The results are clear - the X2 Pro has ten times the approval rate of the vanilla X2. Somewhat worryingly for Oppo the "too expensive" option end up the most popular. However the €200 upgrade that gives you better ultrawide and 5x periscope telephoto cameras along...

Xiaomi Mi CC9 starts receiving MIUI 11 based on Android 10

Reports from users in China claim that the Xiaomi has started seeding MIUI 11 based on Android 10 to their Mi CC9 handsets. And this is the stable version of the software we are talking about. The update is around 2.3GB big and brings the intrinsic Android 10 features like system-wide dark mode and more granular control over app permissions. Additionally, the changelog says something about fixing some of the issues the phone had with the previous version of the OS and, of course, the February 2020 security patch has also been included in the package. This update hints at a...
