There's a slightly larger 6.3-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution with 20:8 aspect ratio. There's even word of an in-display fingerprint scanner and it'll have a larger 3,900 mAh battery. It measures 157.4 x 73.2 x 7.75...

IQOO Neo 855 in Carbon Black and Electro-Optic Purple The listing still doesn't reveal the phone's other specifications like the camera setup or the battery size. Instead, there are teasers wondering about the phone's features, hinting some kind of advanced thermal cooling, a large battery and...

Moto G8 Play leaks in live hands-on images

The Moto G8 Play leaked in some official-looking renders less than 24 hours ago, but what if you want an even better idea of what it looks like? For that, there are now a couple of leaked hands-on images of the yet-unannounced device to keep your interest level peaked. Here they are for your viewing pleasure. Moto G8 Play The G8 Play should become official in Brazil (where these pictures originate) very soon, apparently as soon as next week. But obviously someone in the country has already obtained a unit, and decided to share its looks with the world. As the previously leaked...

Google Pixel 4 face unlock worryingly works even when your eyes aren't open

Google's Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL have no fingerprint sensor anywhere, instead relying only on face unlock for biometric authentication. Thanks to the advanced hardware housed in the big top screen bezel, this should theoretically be as secure as Apple's Face ID, but there's one key area in which the two technologies differ. It turns out that the Pixel 4 will unlock even when your eyes are closed. This can become an obvious issue as people around you (a nosy spouse or child or friend) could unlock your phone just by pointing it at your face while you're sleeping. It's unclear why Google has...

Asus ROG Phone ll teardown reveals rear vent is just for looks

The Asus ROG Phone ll is almost certainly the best gaming phone currently on the market (and as we found out that's a viable niche to be explored). With its gamer aesthetic and active cooling features the phone certainly stands out and Zack from JerryRigEverything did his signature teardown to show us what's on the inside. The phone was harder to take apart given its distinctly shaped glass panel which is separated by the metal air vent. It turns out that the vent is hollow and is not connected with any components on the motherboard. It does offer a small copper opening but that's pretty...

The first cells are concentrated in busy locations like city centers, football stadiums, metro stations and so on. Here are the 5G custom plans you can...

The Google Stadia controller will require a wired connection if playing on your phone

The Google Stadia service will go live in a month and (at least at first) you will need a USB cable if you want to play on your phone, Chromebook or computer. That means that switching between devices during gameplay will not be as smooth as some imagined. But it's not as bad as it sounds. Here's how it works - the smart thing about the Stadia controller is that it has on-board Wi-Fi so it can connect directly to Google's servers and minimize lag. And that is indeed how it will work when you use the controller with the Chromecast Ultra. However, if you want to use your phone, tablet,...

Insiders are predicting that Pixel 4 shipments will top the Pixel 3 numbers

Sources from Taiwan's supply chain are predicting that the Pixel 4 duo will ship in higher numbers than its predecessors. The first two generations, Pixel and Pixel 2, were in the region of 2-3 million shipments. The Pixel 3 pair had a more significant presence with 12 million. The Pixel 4 and 4 XL is predicted to ship 12-14 million units globally. Google will be relying on carriers to help sell the phone, e.g. O2 in the UK, SoftBank in Japan and Taiwan Mobile in Taiwan. But the search giant doesn't have a strong relationship with retailers (both online and brick and mortar), which will...

Samsung will fix the bug that lets unregistered fingerprints unlock the Galaxy S10

A major security flaw on the Samsung Galaxy S10 recently came to light when a British user, Lisa Neilson, discovered that her phone could be unlocked with unregistered fingerprints. This happened because she installed a third-party, £2.70 ($4/€3) gel-based screen protector on her Galaxy S10, which doesn't work well with ultra-sonic in-display fingerprint scanners. Samsung responded by saying that it's investigating the issue and advised customers to only use official Samsung screen protectors. Now, the Korean giant has said it will soon release a software update to fix the...

Samsung phone with under-display camera coming next year

As per recent report, Samsung's efforts of bringing the under-display camera technology to the market are finally bearing fruit and will start mass production as early as this month. If all goes well with the production, Samsung is planning to build 30,000 units per month for a phone that should launch with UDC next year. With that kind of yields this clearly won't be the Galaxy S11 nor the successor of this year's Galaxy Fold. Samsung is still facing some technological challenges with the under-screen selfie cameras, though. Despite being transparent, the OLED panel still distorts...

Renders of alleged Motorola Moto E6 Play surface

Following the renders of the Moto G8 Plus and the images of the Moto G8 Play, we now get to look at one more upcoming Motorola smartphone, which is believed to be the Moto E6 Play. These renders confirm that Moto E6 Play will come in at least two colors - Blue and Black. And as you can see, the phone has a fingerprint reader on the back keeping company to a single camera and flash. However, from a distance or certain angles, one might easily mistake it for a dual camera setup. Alleged Moto E6 Play On the front, we have what might be a 16:9 or 18:9 display, surrounded by small...

Oppo to launch Qualcomm-powered dual-mode 5G phone this year

Qualcomm held its 5G Summit conference in Barcelona recently where the chipmaker confirmed it will be partnering with Oppo to deliver a dual-mode 5G phone. Oppo's Henry Tang elaborated that his company is ready to take the next leap in 5G deployment and will introduce the Qualcomm powered dual-mode 5G phone on the market before the end of 2019. Dual-mode 5G means the phone supports both SA (Standalone mode) and NSA (non-standalone) network modes. The SA mode uses 5G cells for both signaling and data transfer without the need of the existing LTE network. The NSA mode on the other hand...

Motorola Moto G8 Play renders surface

After we got our first look at the upcoming Moto G8 Plus two days ago, we are now treated to a set of renders for the Moto G8 Play. From a quick glance, the Moto G8 Play looks quite similar to the G8 Plus but upon closer inspection, you do notice the larger waterdrop notch and one less camera on the back. Moto G8 Play (left) and Moto G8 Plus (right) There is a 16-megapixel 117-degree ultra-wide sensor which will likely be accompanied by a 48 MP main shooter and a depth sensor. Next to them, we have the classic Moto dimple which houses the fingerprint scanner. The power and volume...

Meizu VP shares an official image of the 16T

An official image of the Meizu 16T that's arriving on October 23 has been shared by the company's Vice President. This image shows us the backside of the 16T and confirms the presence of a triple camera setup aligned vertically in the upper-left corner. Below the cameras is the flash module, and slightly below on the right side in the center is the Meizu moniker. We don't see a fingerprint reader here, meaning it's likely placed under the screen on the front. Meizu hasn't revealed any specifications of the 16T yet, but from AnTuTu and TENAA listings we know it will pack a...
