Up until now we've heard that Apple is already mass-producing AirTags and they're ready for announcement and we even expected them to make an appearance both at Apple's September and October events. Then we heard that Apple will push AirTags' announcement to March 2021 due to manufacturing issues. Now it's...

This is new in Outlook version 4.60.0. Microsoft added Split View and Slide Over support to Outlook earlier this year (in February). The Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) has announced today that four companies are approved to compete in an auction for 5G spectrum. Two of the license conditions that PTS imposed are new installations must not be carried out with products from Huawei and ZTE; also existing infrastructure must be phased out by 2025. These two conditions are imposed by PTS alongside other local requirements, such as central functions that should take place in Sweden and the eventual license holder should make sure that the use of the bands does not cause harm to Sweden’s security. The four...

Huawei Mate 40 Pro event - what to expect

Huawei will hold its annual Mate event on October 22, but unlike previous years it will be a China-exclusive deal with the phone itself probably seeing little international availability before the early days of 2021. Still, it's going to feature one or more of the most exciting smartphones this year so you probably wouldn't want to miss it. Huawei Mate 40 Pro The centerpiece of the event will, of course, be the Huawei Mate 40 Pro. Xiaomi commits to reducing  the plastic used in its packaging by 60%, is keeping the charger

Xiaomi tweeted that it has committed to reducing the plastic used in its packaging by 60%, starting in Europe. And it looks like the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite is the first phone to make that step. Note that this the company is referring to just the retail box, not its contents – you will still get all the accessories. That includes the charger, a USB-C cable and even a case. The Mi 10 Lite (no T) got the exact same accessories in its box when it launched earlier this year. Anyway, if you read between the lines this tweet is a subtle jab at Apple, which just removed the in-box charger and...

The OnePlus 8T just got out so it's time to look forward to OnePlus 9, which is supposed to come around sometime in the beginning of next year. There's no doubt that the company is working on the successor but thanks to a reliable leakster, who is pretty accurate when it comes to OnePlus stuff, we now know what to look for. In a short tweet, Max J. revealed that the OnePlus 9 is codenamed "Lemonade". Actually, this codename has been thrown around lately but it's only now that we get some solid (sort of) confirmation about what exactly Lemonade means to OnePlus. Unfortunately, there...

PlayStation 5 to offer per-game fan control with data collected from the APU

In a recent interview Sony's mechanical design chief responsible for the PS5's cooling system revealed an interesting bit about the console. It turns out it will offer per-game fan control, using data collected from AMD's APU on board and will eventually improve the cooling performance of the console over time. As games go out and people start playing them, the APU will start collecting data so no "one size fits all" type of fan curve will be used here. There are multiple temperature sensors placed all around the board to help collect the data. Moreover, Sony's engineers designed a...
