More Android Wear devices are now getting Oreo

Earlier this week, Google revealed names of Android Wear devices that already began getting Oreo, as well as those that will eventually get the update. Well, that list has been updated by the company. The following names have been added afresh to the section which contains devices currently getting the update: Hugo BOSS BOSS Touch, Movado Connect, Tommy Hilfiger 24/7 You, Guess Connect, and Gc Connect. So that naturally means the number of entries in the section containing names of devices waiting to get the update has reduced. Here are all the remaining names in that section...

Last week OnePlus sent out OxygenOS 4.7.4 to the 5T, its latest smartphone. The software for that and its predecessor, the OnePlus 5, still hasn't been unified. That's why the 5 not only didn't receive last week's update, but in fact is getting an entirely different version altogether. Rolling out starting today, OxygenOS 4.5.15 is on its way to the OnePlus 5. This brings with it the October security patches, and no, you're not reading that wrong - we're still in December, and two more monthly security updates for Android have been released since. Nokia 9 and Nokia 6 (2018) both get 3C certifications, could launch in January

The Nokia 6 went through TENAA but it wasn't alone - Nokia 9 may have been there as well. The Nokia 6 (2018) has a model number TA-1054, the other phone is TA-1042. And it's just this model number that matches the Nokia 9 in the image below, also TA-1005 and TA-1009 (though those are still MIA on TENAA). Anyway, there's a Nokia event on January 19 and the Nokia 9 will allegedly be the star. Other rumored participants include the Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 8 (2018). The original Nokia 6 launched in China on January 19 this year. We might get some action at CES too (January...

The company also shared that a "Tier 1" manufacturer will introduce the first phone with the tech at CES 2018. Clear ID FS9500 fingerprint scanner The Clear ID FS9500 sensor works only with OLED displays. When activated, it uses the panel to illuminate the fingerprint and then processes the beams of light. Synaptics claims the sensor can work under a sandwich of components up to 1.5 mm thick, including a screen...

Huawei LDD-xx spotted on TENAA with two dual cameras, might be Honor 9 Lite

As if the Honor family tree wasn't complicated enough, there's a new model incoming - the Huawei LDD-xxx, which some are saying is the Honor 9 Lite. TENAA hasn't given names, but has photographed the device. To spice things up, there's a leaked page from the manual, though no specs are given yet. Huawei LDD-xxx (perhaps the Honor 9 Lite) The phone has dual front and rear cameras and a design fairly similar to the new nova 2s. There's an 18:9 screen on the front and a fingerprint reader on the rear, once again an odd mix of design elements from other Huawei phones. The...

Images of Nokia 6 (2018) now added to listing

Yesterday we told you the Nokia 6 successor arrived on TENAA, a required step before a device hits the Chinese market. At that point there was not much to the listing, but this morning the Chinese regulatory also uploaded images of the phone. It will have 18:9 screen, and since there is no room for a fingerprint scanner on the front, it will move on the back, below the camera. Nokia 6 (2018) The phone will have one camera, with the actual setup looking a lot like the long one in the Nokia 5. There are also discreet antenna bands on the top and bottom and an orange accent...

Cortana can now connect to your Gmail account

Great news to Cortana users, who still have one foot in Google's econsystem: Microsoft has added the ability to connect your Gmail account to Cortana. That means you can now easily access things like your emails, contacts, and more importantly Google Calendar data through the digital assistant. To setup the new feature, first head to the Cortana Notebook section from your Windows 10 search bar. Once there, use the 'Add a Service' option (in "Connected Services") to add Gmail. That's it. You'll be asked to login to your Gmail account (if you haven't already) and provide Cortana...

Apple now lets you pre-order App Store apps

Do you hate the feeling of being left out when you forget to download the latest trendy apps? Well, Apple is here to help. The company has launched a new feature allowing you to pre-order apps. Also, if there is a fluctuation in pricing during the...

New Nokia phones (TA-1062 and TA-1077) get certified in China

A couple of new Nokia phones have received certification in China. The devices are listed as TA-1062 and TA-1077, but sadly we didn't get the actual names of the devices, nor anything related to their specs. And that's why it's a bit difficult to even speculate which phones these model numbers represent. They could be new feature phones, or variants of any of the existing smartphones - everything is up in the air at the moment. This comes shortly after the Nokia 6 (2018) - carrying model number TA-1054 - was spotted on the website of China's TENAA. Via
