First Oppo K7 5G specs leak, reveal Snapdragon 765G chipset

Oppo is about to bring the 5G evolution to another of its smartphone lineups. After the Reno, the Find X, and the A series, now the K family will have next-gen connectivity, according to a rumor on Weibo by a well-known leakster. A phone called Oppo K7 5G is going to be introduced soon, and it will come with Snapdragon 765G. The new phone is the successor of the Oppo K5, and it will keep the same 6.4” AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution on the front. The main camera on the back will have a 48MP sensor, while the battery is said to arrive with 4,025 mAh capacity and 30W...

Top 10 trending phones of week 29

This week's 10 most popular phones in our database are exactly the same as those from week 28 and yet not a single one of them is where we left it. The hype surrounding the Poco M2 Pro launch has died down so the former leader founds itself all the way down in sixth. The Redmi Note 9 Pro and Samsung Galaxy A51 have now reclaimed the top two spots, while OnePlus is clearly successful in hyping up the Nord as it's already in third. The Redmi Note 9 and Redmi 9 duo follows, while the M2 Pro makes it three Xiaomi-made phones in a row. Samsung's Galaxy A71 and A21s take seventh and...

Week 29 in review: Oppo shows 125W charging, OnePlus Nord teasers intensify

As the OnePlus Nord is scheduled for announcement next week, we got a bunch of stories about it last week. OnePlus' Carl Pei showed off the phone in grey and cyan. He also appeared to be using the new OnePlus Buds, in matching cyan. The Buds were confirmed to launch alongside the Nord on July 21. The battery capacities of the iPhone 12 series were revealed by certification docs. It looks like the iPhone 12 models will have slightly smaller battery capacities compared to the current iPhone 11 lineup. The 5.4-inch iPhone 12 will have a 2,227mAh cell, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro will...

Oppo Enco M31 wireless earphones review

The Enco M31 are the latest pair of wireless earphones from Oppo. On paper, the Enco M31 seem fully featured, with LDAC, Hi-Res Wireless Audio certification, IPX5 certified water resistance, and Ai-powered noise cancellation for voice calls, all at a relatively affordable price. The inclusion of LDAC alone should put a smile on a few faces, as support for this codec is largely absent in budget audio gear. And the Enco M31 is well and truly "budget"; I picked up this pair for INR 1999 from Amazon India, which is only about $26. So what's the catch and how do they perform? Let's find...

Weekly poll: does 100W+ charging matter?

This week several companies announced 100+ watt fast charging solutions for future smartphones – iQOO’s 120W Super FlashCharge, Realme’s 125 W UltraDART, Xiaomi teased a 100W charger, Oppo announced not only 125 W wired charging but also 65W AirVOOC wireless charging. The Lenovo Legion will get close with 90W. How much is too much? According to Oppo’s numbers, a 4,000 mAh battery will be fully charged in 20 minutes. iQOO promises to do it in 15 minutes. Xiaomi’s 100W charger is no slouch either, doing 0-100% in 17 minutes. In the case of Oppo’s wireless option, 100% charge is reached in...

Weekly poll results: Poco M2 Pro fails to impress fans of the original

The original Poco F1 was born out of unique circumstances – Xiaomi managed to secure a cheap supply of flagship Snapdragon 845 chipsets and made an affordable, powerful phone, a true flagship killer. That was a lucky alignment of the stars that hasn’t quite happened since. Something else happened too – the Poco brand entered the mid-range market and more recently, the segment below that. But does that even make sense? Last week’s poll gives a definite answer – no. Adding 33W fast charging to the Redmi Note 9S (aka Note 9 Pro in India) is not enough to satisfy Poco fans. Was fast...
