Samsung Galaxy J4 and J6 get certified by the NCC

This is not the first time we've heard about the Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6 but there's plenty of stuff we don't know about them. Xiaomi smartphone codenamed Cactus appears on Geekbench

A new Xiaomi handset, using the Cactus codename, just appeared on Geekbench featuring Mediatek's P40 (MT6765). It has its CPU to be clocked at 2.0 GHz and 2GB of RAM. The Cactus runs Android 8.1, presumably with a MIUI 9 on top. We are probably still some way off from an official launch since the Cactus phone doesn't have an official name yet, but we'll be on the lookout for more info and keep you posted. Via

Xiaomi's next European store is in Vienna, coming this month

A new Xiaomi store is opening up in Vienna's SCS shopping center. It was expected in March and then April but is now scheduled for this month - coinciding with Xiaomi's official arrival in France and Italy, and possibly with the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 7, rumored to be coming May 23. Whether this Austria store is an official Mi Store or an Authorized Distributor is yet to be confirmed. So is the catalog of devices and services it will carry. Walmart confirms purchase of 77% of Flipkart in $16B deal

Walmart, the largest retailer in the world, has struck a deal worth $16B with India's top e-commerce retailer Flipkart. The deal, which is pending regulatory approval in India, gives Walmart a 77% stake in Flipkart, putting the company's total value at $20.8 billion. Flipkart's other investors - Tencent, Tiger Global and Microsoft will stay on and work with Walmart. Canalys: Smartphone shipments in Europe decline, Xiaomi makes the top 5

Canalys released its quarterly report on smartphone shipments in Europe and the numbers do not look good. Overall shipment fell 6.3% between January and March, with British, French, and German markets declining 29.6%, 23.2% and 16.7%, respectively. The entire Western part of the continent declined 13.9% to 30.1 million total shipments. The picture is brighter in Central and Eastern Europe which grew 12.3% to a total of 15.9 shipments, with Russia seeing a huge 25.4% jump. Vodafone is acquiring Liberty's business in 4 EU countries for €18.4 billion

Vodafone has agreed to pay €18.4 billion (about $21.8 billion) for the Liberty Global business in Germany, Hungary, Romania and the Czech Republic that spans cable TV, brodband and mobile. Reuters reports that the deal is part of Vodafone's attempt to more successfully compete with Deutsche Telekom in Europe. Xiaomi Mi 7 is expected to debut on May 23, but live spy shots of the phone already started surfacing on the Chinese social network Weibo. The successor to last year's BlackBerry Keyone has passed a couple of major milestones in its journey towards officialdom.
