Redmi 10X with Dimensity 820 benchmarked, edges out Snapdragon 765G phones

Xiaomi has a lot of irons in the Dimensity 820 fire, benchmark results from a "M2004J7BC" device hint at a possible third phone - the Redmi 10X - in addition to the Redmi Note 10 and Redmi K30i. The phone's total AnTuTu score is over 400,000, while the slightly older Dimensity 800 only gets in the low 300,000 points. A big part of that seems to be the higher GPU performance, which is thanks to the additional GPU core in the Dimensity 820 (for a total of five). AnTuTu score of Redmi with Dimensity 820 The CPU plays an important role too with a decent jump in single-core...

Huawei places a new $700 million order to TSMC, but US actions stop it

According to a report coming straight from Taiwan, TSMC has received a $700 million order from Huawei for its 5 and 7nm chips. The 5nm bit is likely about the upcoming Kirin 1020 chipset while the 7nm order is all about the 5G baseband chips. However, TSMC is reportedly working on full capacity and won't be able to take any more orders. And that's not the only issue. On Friday, the US Commerce Department went on with the new rules, which requires manufacturing companies using US equipment and software to get a special license to supply Huawei. The battery has the product code EB-BN985ABY (SM-N985 being the Galaxy Note20+' likely product name) with a rated capacity of 4,370mAh and a typical capacity of 4,500mAh. That's the same battery that powers the Samsung Galaxy S20+. That one managed 87 hours of endurance at 120Hz refresh rate and 97 hours at 60Hz in our tests. The Galaxy Note20+...
