Smartphone have been advancing in computational photography so quickly over the last few years, and the leaders in this space are Google, Huawei, and Apple, all of which have made some really good progress with the help of software to produce some really excellent photos with lots of detail and excellent exposure. The photographer also posted the image, which shows exactly what the Nokia 9 and its heavily rumored five-camera phone could be capable...

This week, Samsung unveiled its foldable Galaxy Fold and the race is on for the next manufacturer to put a foldable phone on the market. Huawei is likely going to be the next one as it gears up for a press event this weekend at the MWC. A photo was tweeted showing working installing a display banner containing Huawei's device with a foldable display. Archos Diamond announced with a pop-up selfie cam and UD fingerprint reader

Archos went all in the last few days with a slew of new phones, but the Archos Diamond appears to be the most interesting of the bunch. And don't confuse it with last year's Diamond Omega. The 2019 Diamond is a totally different device and doesn't success the Omega from last year. This one's a mid-range device with high-end features. Right off the bat, we can see that the Archos Diamond has a full-screen, notch-less display because the front-facing camera is hidden in a motorized pop-up unit. The display itself is 6.39-inch AMOLED, 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio....

Rumor pegs the price of Nokia 9 PureView at just €600, Xperia 1's at €950

File this one under "maybe" - European prices for the new Nokia phones have leaked ahead of Sunday's announcement. And they start with a €600 price tag for the Nokia 9 PureView. Sure, it has Snapdragon 845 rather than the new 855, but it will be the first ever phone with five cameras on the back. For comparison, the Nokia 8 Sirocco was €750 at launch and it didn't have the latest chipset either. So, we'll believe the €600 price when we hear it straight from Juho's mouth. That said, the Xperia XZ4 (also S845-powered) dropped to €500 earlier today, a long way down from the launch price of...

Vivo to launch a new V15 mid-ranger in India on February 25

Hot on the heels of the V15 Pro announcement yet another vivo handset with a pop-up camera design is apparently also coming our way. Like the name suggests, the V15 is a slightly downgraded alternative to the V15 Pro that still retains the signature motorized selfie camera design, originally made popular by the vivo NEX S. As per leaked specs, the V15 will ditch the flashy AMOLED panel of the V15 Pro and settle for a 6.39-inch LCD instead. Other notable cut-backs include a MediaTek Helio P70 chipset, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Physically, we expect little difference...

DxOMark: Samsung Galaxy S10+ camera is as good as the Mate 20 Pro's

Samsung's new triple-camera setup on the Galaxy S10 and S10+ is undoubtedly one of the key selling points of handsets and it appears that DxOMark thinks so as well. The overall score is 109, which matches the Mate 20 Pro and the P20 Pro. And interestingly enough, the Galaxy S10+'s photo and video scores are 114 and 98, respectively, which are also the Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro's camera scores. However, the Galaxy S10+ excels in the selfie department. In fact, according to DxOMark's selfie ranking, the Galaxy S10+ takes the lead with the Note9 following closely behind along with the Pixel...

The end goal of this is to build multi-camera solutions for smartphones with 4 or more cameras. These multi-camera computational photography setups will be offered to smartphone makers for the next generation phones (in case it's not obvious, these will not be exclusive to Sony Xperia phones). Oppo has been hitting the rumor mill rather hard lately with teaser after teaser of its upcoming Oppo F11 Pro phone. Add a few interspersed leaks to the mix and it's already pretty easy to get a general idea of what the company's latest "Selfie Expert" will bring to the table. Naturally, the main attraction being a 48MP main camera on the back and a motorized selfie unit on the front. The company will be part of MWC as well, and we expect to see half a dozen new phones, according to a leak by Evan Blass. HTC has developed an enhanced Vive Focus standalone VR headset, the Vive Focus Plus. The key change is the addition of a second motion controller thanks to improvements in the ultrasonic 6DoF tracking system. Having a controller for both hands will make porting PC games easier as their gameplay relies on having two controllers. Most standalone VR headsets use only one controller (e.g. Oculus Go, Gear VR), but there are exceptions like the Oculus Quest. The Vive Focus Plus is still powered by the same Snapdragon 835 chipset as the non-Plus model and it features a "3K AMOLED display",...
