Just last week, we told you about an LG V20 deal where-in you could grab a unit for $400. And now, you can get the device for an even lower rate. An eBay seller is currently offering the phone (64GB variant) for as low as $355. A quick look at the eBay listing reveals a price tag of $369.99. However, you can bring the price down to $355 by using the promo code PSUMMER15OFF during checkout. No information on when the deal ends, so those interested in availing it may have to act fast. Apple topped global wearable market in Q1, Samsung claimed second spot
According to data released by market research firm Strategy Analytics, Apple claimed over 50% - 53% to be precise - of the global wearable market in the first quarter of the ongoing year, retaining its top position. The second spot was bagged by Samsung, which claimed 12.8% share of the market. The South Korean tech giant overtook Fitbit, which came in at number three with 12.2% market share. The report attributed Samsung's improvement in rankings to the success of its Gear S3 smartwatch. As far as total product shipments are concerned, Apple again topped the list with 16% share,...

Our editors talk: what we think of the OnePlus 5
.inline-image.left{ margin: 20px 0px 20px 25px; min-width: initial; border:none} hr {max-width: 100%; margin: 30px; border: none; border-top: 1px solid #b6b6b6;} #review-body .author-name { padding-top: 2.8em; padding-left:10px;} Victor OnePlus has always been a unicorn of sorts in the mobile industry. And that's not necessarily the tech geek in me talking. Pete Lau and Carl Pei's creation is nothing short of a textbook example of viral marketing done right and I really admire its success on that front alone. Every time we get a new OnePlus handset at the office, we seem to...
Week 24 in review: OnePlus 5 goes official, LG announces G6+
The OnePlus 5 hype finally reached its peak this week as the handset got its official debut. It's no surprise then that it completely dominated the headlines over the past few days. LG also had an announcement this week, introducing the G6+ - a wireless charging-enabled version of its flagship with extra storage. A pair of upcoming Samsung phablets also gathered interest - the refurbished Galaxy Note7 and the flagship Galaxy Note8 are drawing near and rumors are understandably intensifying. .news-item .n-left { float: left; width: 28%; text-align: center; } .news-item...
Weekly poll: is the OnePlus 5 everything you were hoping it to be?
The OnePlus 5 is finally official so let's see what you think of it. Is it everything you expected, everything you wanted it to be? Or were you disappointed. The benchmark cheating probably doesn't matter much, the phone will play any Android game out there as well as possible this half of 2017. And you can still brag about the 8 gigs of RAM. The confusion about the "lossless zoom" is more annoying - 1.6x optical then digital zoom isn't great. We didn't love the tele photos, but at least it enables Portrait mode and the main camera is excellent. The pricing is higher than the...
Top 10 trending phones of week 25
We have a change in the lead for a second week in a row as the OnePlus 5 took another step forward and claimed the crown. It gathered three times the hits of the second-placed Nokia 6, so it will probably stay there for a while longer. The Nokia mid-ranger still managed to keep the Galaxy S8 at bay, while below those two the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime retain their positions. Another Nokia handset makes the chart this week - the 3 jumps straight into sixth as its global rollout gets going. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 has slipped down to seventh, just head of the Galaxy...
Counterclockwise: the phones that did it first
Phone makers can be quite prideful - they love boasting about being the first to bring a new feature to market. It's a solid marketing strategy, it makes them look like innovators and it makes their gadgets seem cutting edge. So let's settle a few scores. Apple may be the first company to convince the public they need a fingerprint reader on their phones, but it wasn't the first to put one on a handset. That honor goes to the Pantech GI100 from mid-2004, three years before Apple even made the iPhone. Pantech GI100 Speaking of the Cupertino-based company, it is also responsible...
OnePlus 5 defeats HTC U11 and Galaxy S8 in battle of Snapdragon 835s speed test
We've seen our share of head-to-head YouTube speed tests of the latest smartphones, but there's always an extra 5 minutes for another one. In this case, it's the OnePlus 5 vs. the HTC U11 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 - a battle of the 835 Snapdragons, if you will. In this iteration, it's 20 apps run in succession on the three phones, against the clock. A second round is performed to see how quickly the phones can access the apps already launched on the first go - RAM management is key for this one. Oh, and the amount of RAM too, of course - 8GB for the OP5, half that for the S8 and...
