A new report from Nikkei Asian Review says that Huawei is going to enter the television business. Huawei Technologies is planning to introduce the world's first 5G-connected TV as early as this year. Apple was recently granted a patent for "Methods of biometric imaging of input surfaces" which explains an acoustic imaging system that would be used to map a high-res image of something on the surface, such as a fingerprint. Report: Apple saw 30% decline in shipments in Q1 YoY, Huawei up 50%

A new report from IDC revealed some insight into the smartphone industry in terms of a number of shipments during the first quarter of 2019. Between January and March, a total of 310.8 million smartphones were shipped, which is a 6.6% decline year over year. In 2018, Q1 declined 4.1%; in 2017 - 3.5%.
