Gmail increases attachment size limit to 50MB, but for incoming emails only
Up until now, Gmail only allowed you to send and receive attachments of up to 25MB. That, however, has changed now, as the size limit for incoming emails has been increased. "Starting today, you will be able to receive emails of up to 50MB directly," Google said in a blog post. So, this means that Google's email service will now allow attachments of up to 50MB in emails coming from users subscribed to a non-Gmail email service. Size limit for outgoing mails, however, remain the same at 25MB. "However, just as before, you can use Google Drive to send larger attachments," the company...

Nokia 6 and Nokia 3 camera samples
The MWC didn't bring a new Nokia PureView phone as some may have hoped, instead Nokia and HMD are starting with the mid-range and entry-level segments. We already saw what the Nokia 5 and 3310 (2017) cameras can do, now it's time to put the Nokia 6 and Nokia 3 to the test. Nokia 6 The Nokia 6 camera is built around a 16MP sensor with relatively small pixels - 1µm. The aperture is average at f/2.0, though you do get dual-LED flash and Phase Detection autofocus. When the Xiaomi Mi Mix came out with a 16MP 1µm f/2.0 camera, we were a tad disappointed. In the price range of the model...
Google launches Meet, an online meeting service for businesses
Google has launched Meet, a new service for businesses that will allow users to have meetings online. Nokia 3310 arrival in United States trumped by carriers
Nokia 3310 is the talking point in the last week after HMD Global announced the return of the legend. Well, it's not really a legend since it's quite the different device than what the original 3310 was back in its day and is not really a return since it won't get to the United States right away. The reason - carriers over there do not support the 900 MHz GSM band. Nokia 3310 (2017) Nokia 3310 (2017) is a simple phone many would love to give to their grandparents or kids since it is practically indestructible. American children and old folks would have to wait for the 2G...
Sony Xperia XZ Premium hands-on: A closer look
MWC is an information overload galore. Now that we've covered the main announcements and we have them out the gate, we spent some extra time with one of the stars of the show - the Xperia XZ Premium.
Samsung has quietly made the Galaxy Xcover 4 official
A few hours ago, the Galaxy Xcover 4 was spotted in an official FCC listing - traditionally indicative of an impending release. Still, Samsung might have just broken some kind of speed record, since the handset is already up on its German website. The specs info in the press release does seem to mostly match what we already know from previous rumors. Design-wise, it bears quite a bit of resemblance to its Xcover 3 predecessor. The main frame is strengthened and covered in rubberized coating. The back has received a similar treatment and so have the three physical buttons on the...
No more Chromebook Pixels, Google confirms
When you hear Google and Pixel in the same sentence you probably would think of either the smartphone series or the Chromebooks. Well from now on, the Chromebook Pixel won't be a thing anymore. Google SVP Rick Osterloh was asked by journalists about any plans for the Pixel laptop, and his answer surprised everyone - the company has no plans in the future for Google-branded laptops. Rick Osterloh, Senior VP at Google, said to a bunch of journalists at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that the company has no plans whatsoever for any future Chromebook Pixels. And there's more: the...
Samsung just slashed the Galaxy A9 Pro price in India down to INR 29,900
The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro, which was made official in China back in March last year is now, thankfully, enjoying a much wider international release. Initially, the Korean giant was unwilling to let it escape the Chinese market it was intended for. However, its great combination of a premium body and value-oriented and capable internals proved to hold too much of a universal appeal and made its way to Malaysia in June and then to India. There, it was originally launched for INR 32,490 (around $486), but at a local event held today, Samsung announced it is slashing that price down to INR...
NVIDIA announces GTX 1080 Ti at $699
NVIDIA has announced the much anticipated flagship of the GeForce series, the GTX 1080 Ti. Based on the same GP102 GPU as the Titan X (Pascal), the 1080 Ti promises to offer nearly the same gaming performance as NVIDIA's most powerful single GPU graphics card but at nearly half the price. The 1080 Ti is closer to the Titan X than it is to the 1080. It takes the GP102 GPU from the Titan X but with two of the 30 SM units disabled. Both cards have the same number of CUDA cores at 3584, same 224 texture units and the same 12 billion transistors but the 1080 Ti has 88 ROP units compared to 96...
Samsung is making good progress on its foldable Galaxy X smartphone
Samsung has been going on and on about Project Valley for well over a year now, but, we can't really say we mind. The idea that foldable display tech is finally here and almost within end-user reach is enough to get any tech enthusiast excited, the long wait being the only real problem. Luckily, it finally looks like Samsung is making actual progress on taking project Valley out of the lab and into user hands. The Korean giant officially has a trademark for the Galaxy X moniker. This new model family has already been tied to Project Valley in more than a few leaks. The prevailing...
Jio and Samsung join forces to expand coverage to 90% of India population
Reliance Jio is one of the fastest-growing companies in India, and Samsung Electronics logically decided to work together with the telecom outside of the smartphone market. The Korean company announced partnership with Jio to upgrade the current LTE services across India, expanding both the capacity and the network coverage. Samsung and Jio are utilizing spectrum in the 850, 1800 and 2300 MHz bands, enabling seamless coverage in dense urban areas. The project, named "I&G (Infill & Growth) Project" will also expand Jio's coverage in the rural zones to over 90% of the population of...
LG X230Z and M320H clear US FCC, look like midrangers
Two new LG phones - the LG-M320H and LG-X230Z - have received certification from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC). While we don't know anything about the former, the latter looks to be a variant of the LG X230 that received Bluetooth certification last month. The LG X230 was also spotted on Geekbench late last year. The benchmark listing had revealed Mediatek MT6737M SoC, 1GB RAM, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow, suggesting that it's a low-end phone. The LG-M320H could also be a budget phone. Via

Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 gets FCC certified
After receiving WiFi certification and being spotted in benchmark listings, the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 has now cleared the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States. The device is the successor to the Galaxy Xcover 3 from 2015. Unsurprisingly, the FCC listing for the device doesn't reveal anything related to the phone's specifications. But from what we've collected so far, the handset will be powered by a quad-core 1.4GHz processor, and sport a 4.8-inch HD display. Memory configuration will be 2GB/16GB, and the camera department will be handled by a 13MP/5MP...

The LG G6 wallpapers: the story behind their making
You'd think that stock wallpapers would be computer-generated images with not much soul and backstory to them, but in the LG G6's case you'd be wrong. The Korean company has taken a more authentic and personal approach and has made the wallpapers from actual physical sheets of card stock. LG has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the process and it sure looks like a lot of work for just a wallpaper. The designers went all arts-and-crafts on it and drew circles with compasses, used utility knives to cut the paper, measured angles with protractors - who knew these were still a...

Popular note taking application Google Keep has now been made part of the company's G Suite. Being a core G Suite service, "Keep now has the same technical support and service level commitments as any other core service, like Gmail or Google Drive," the search giant said in a blog post. G Suite admins will be able to control Keep usage in their organizations - they'll have the power to turn the app on or off for their domains. Aside from this, Google Keep has also been made accessible from within Google Docs. "End users can now view and create Keep notes in Google Docs on the...
