Sony will call this its CinemaWide dislpay. A few real images of the device have arrived from sumahoinfo.com . These (blurry) images show what appears to be an upcoming Sony device. LG and Best Buy are practically paying you to get a V40 ThinQ on Sprint until Sunday

There are good deals, there are great deals, and then there are those deals that are rather shocking. Here's one. Until Sunday, if you buy an LG V40 ThinQ for Sprint from Best Buy, not only are you paying an incredibly low amount of money for what is still the Korean company's top of the line smartphone, but you'll also receive a free TV. Let's go through the details. You can have the V40 for Sprint from Best Buy for just $15 per month using its two-year installment plan. That adds up to a grand total of $360, and this would be a great deal even so. But it doesn't stop there - register at...

2019 iPhones to come with varying notch sizes, maybe even USB-C

A new rumor today comes to purportedly shine some light onto Apple's iPhone plans for this year. The XS, XS Max, and XR are all getting successors. Interestingly, it's said that the next XR will have a wider notch than the successor to the XS Max, for unclear reasons. On the other hand the company has also made prototypes with a smaller notch, so it's unclear which will end up being the final design. On the same note, once again Apple is rumored to consider switching to the USB-C connector and finally killing off its proprietary Lightning port. Prototypes with either option are being...

First Oppo F11 Pro render confirms camera setup and full-screen design

Last month industry insiders in China revealed Oppo and vivo are working on more phones with pop-up cameras. Although speculations said vivo X25 and Oppo R19, we already saw an official teaser of the vivo V15 Pro with a NEX-like periscope selfie shooter. Now another official-looking render appears, and this time it is the Oppo F11 Pro. It pretty much confirmed that the leaked design from last week where the front-facing camera will pop up from the middle, but similarly to the vivo NEX S. The poster also says 48 MP and "Brilliant portrait in low light," meaning the Oppo F11 Pro...

Here's our first look at the Canary Yellow Galaxy S10e

This is our first look at the Canary Yellow Galaxy S10e, thanks to early renders of the device. We can't testify to the renders' authenticity as they are blurry but we assume this is what the Galaxy S10e-exclusive Canary Yellow color will look like. The images also coincide with the earlier renders of the Galaxy S10e and show the 5.8-inch Super AMOLED with a single punch hole camera and a dual camera on the rear. More importantly the renders show the side-mounted fingerprint scanner, embedded into the power button (the Galaxy S10 and S10+ will have in-display fingerprint...

Xiaomi patents a smartphone screen with 4 curved edges

Imagine the Samsung Galaxy S9 with its curved screen on the left and right. Now transfer the technique onto the top and bottom as well. This theoretical display was just patented by Xiaomi at the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO). There is no selfie camera in sight, meaning the Chinese company will either go with its in-display solution or will omit the front-facing shooter completely. The WIPO listing was obtained by LetsGoDigital and it has provided us with a neat visualization how such a smartphone would look like. The patent graphics also include a dual camera with a...

Google is looking for a Vice President for its Wearables division

Google recently outed its financial report for 2018. Over 80% of the income came from adverts, but the company is also relying on its devices to expand its ecosystem at key markets. The Pixel phones, Google Home speakers and Chromebooks are widely popular wherever they can be bought, and it looks like Google wants to introduce wearables to the portfolio. The company posted two job listings on its website for the Wearables division. Google is looking for a Vice President and a Design Manager to "create and guide the design of forward-looking, iconic products that delight...

Samsung will give away free Galaxy Buds with some Galaxy S10 pre-orders

Samsung will try and entice buyers to go for a Galaxy S10 by adding free Galaxy Buds as a gift to pre-orders - the new, wirelessly-charged Galaxy Buds. The information was cleverly dug up from the source code of the official teaser page for the Galaxy S10 on Samsung Russia's website, but we expect that similar deals will be available elsewhere too. The site also semi-confirms that the pre-ordered Galaxy S10's will begin shipping on March 8 as the pre-order period begins on February 20 (on the day of the Galaxy S10's unveil) and ends on March 7. It's not clear if the free Galaxy...

Spotify takes aim at ad blockers

Spotify released yesterday its financial results for 2018 and along with that updated its Terms and Conditions. The new rules say "circumventing or blocking advertisement in the Spotify Service, or creating distributing tools to block advertisements" will lead to termination or suspension of the account. According to a report from last year, around 2 percent of free Spotify users use apps or accounts that disable the ads between the songs. The platform sent emails to users with unusual activity to uninstall the ad-blocking software, but if they declined, Spotify terminated the...

Xiaomi Mi 9 is designed by Mi Liu, the man that designed the Mi 6

It looks like with its next flagship, Xiaomi will focus more on design than it did with the Mi 8. Xiaomi's Product Director Wang Teng Thomas divulged that the Mi 9 will be designed by the person behind the Mi 6 - Mi Liu. The Mi 6 was undoubtedly Xiaomi's best-looking flagship (sorry Mi Mix) with its seamless mirror finish, its quad-curved glass and its Blue and Gold paint job. The Mi 9 should be right around the corner. We've seen purported renders of it, we expect it to have a triple camera (including a main 48MP one), a Snapdragon 855 chipset and very fast charging. Xiaomi...
