The HP Elite x3 Bundle (which includes Desk Dock) has received price cuts in the United States and Canada. In the US, the price cut ($200) is being offered by Microsoft, and is part of the company's President's Day Sale. This means that you can grab the bundle for $599. Over in Canada, the Redmond, Washington-based company is selling the bundle for CAD 749 ($570), down from its usual price of CAD 999. So, that's a CAD 250 discount. Less than a couple of weeks after the Gionee A1 leaked in live images, the device has been spotted in benchmark listings. Other rumored key specs of the phone include 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen, 64GB storage, 13MP/16MP camera combo, rear mounted fingerprint sensor, and a large 4,010mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. Sony Xperia Z5 family getting new update
Sony has started pushing out a new update to its Xperia Z5 family of devices. It's a minor, Nougat-based update that bumps the build number to 32.3.A.0.378. Aside from the Xperia Z5 range, the Xperia Z3 Plus and Xperia Z4 tablet are also getting the same update. Sadly, it isn't yet known what exactly the update brings along. Given that the roll out has just begun, it may take some time for the update to hit your device. Meanwhile, if you feel impatient, you can manually check for it by heading to your handset's Settings menu. Via
Sprint HTC 10 Android Nougat update is rolling out now
Today is a good day for US carriers to issue updates to Android 7.0 Nougat for various smartphones they sell, it seems. Earlier we told you about AT&T's LG G5 finally being graced with the tasty treat, and now it's time for Sprint's HTC 10 units to benefit from the same treatment. The Now Network has started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat for the HTC 10, as build 2.42.651.6. It's going out over-the-air, but it's a 1.3GB download, so you should grab it via Wi-Fi. Aside from the OS version upgrade, the changelog only mentions "system enhancements" as being packed inside the new...
Revamped, auto-expiring WhatsApp Status rolls out to all making it more like Snapchat
Facebook's quest to make all of its mobile apps more like Snapchat hasn't ended. The latest victim is WhatsApp, though the Snapchatifying isn't as prevalent here as it is in Instagram or Facebook Messenger, for example. The good news is that you can simply ignore the new functionality if you want to - it's easy. The bad news? Well, it's still there. The new WhatsApp Status is now rolling out to all of the app's users, following a testing period which began last November. Up until this point you were only able to issue a text status message in WhatsApp, but from now on it will basically act...

Following in the footsteps of Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and US Cellular, today AT&T has finally decided to push the update to Android 7.0 Nougat to the LG G5 units it's sold. Since the first batch of G5 units started tasting this treat back in November of last year, it's definitely a case of "better late than never" for AT&T here. The update is rolling out over-the-air, and it's going to be a 1.5GB download so you'll have to grab it via Wi-Fi. It comes with the January 1 security patch level, build number NRD90U, and LG software version H82020j. As always, it might take a few days...

Owners of Samsung's Galaxy S7 who have already upgraded to Android Nougat are still waiting for the promised Secure Folder app to become available to download officialy. However, its release seems pretty close now because earlier today it was leaked online. Those who tried it said it works, and even lets you add a Quick Toggle for it. Interestingly, when you first launch the app you are presented with a short tutorial showing you how to use it. In this tutorial, Samsung uses the outline of a phone that very much resembles all the leaks we've seen so far about the Galaxy S8. Take a look for...

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 images leak through regulatory certification in Taiwan
Since it's not ready to unveil the Galaxy S8 at Mobile World Congress (MWC) this Sunday in Barcelona, Samsung will use that event to announce the Galaxy Tab S3 instead. This has already been hinted at in the official invite, and the tablet may go on sale very soon afterwards - since it's already been certified by the FCC, Bluetooth SIG, and Wi-Fi Alliance. Today it has obtained a new certification, this time from the Taiwanese NCC, which means Samsung is now free to sell the Tab S3 over there. This has thankfully resulted in the two images you can see below becoming public. They show us...

Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus leaked by a retailer, specs revealed
When Lenovo acquired Motorola it vowed to put the beloved brand back on its feet and the Moto G series is a big part of that plan. The Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus were long-awaited and leaked bit by bit and just a week before MWC a Colombian retailer accidentally published the full specs list. The most interesting thing about the midrangers is the display is smaller compared to the previous generation. Moto G4 and G4 Plus had 5.5" Full HD displays but Lenovo decided to go with a 5.2" in the new Plus-sized device and with 5 inches for the G5. The resolution is still Full HD so the...

Samsung Electronics acquisition of Harman approved by shareholders
Harman International board of directors approved an acquisition from Samsung Electronics back in November. This is one of the steps the Korean company is taking towards the automotive industry since Harman produces components for infotainment, cyber security and over-the-air updates. Some shareholders tried to stop the deal, claiming the company is worth more than the $8 billion offered by Samsung, but after a vote the deal will go through. Harman is a company that is most popular with its brands JBL, AKG, Bang & Olufsen and works with Tesla, Mercedes, Porsche, Jaguar in building...
Xiaomi Mi 5c visits GeekBench several times, posts wildly different scores
Xiaomi has announced that it will be unveiling its in-house chipset a week from now on February 28. The SoC that so far goes by the unconfirmed name Pinecone may very well debut on the upcoming Mi 5c, which has also shown up at the rumor mill on a number of occasions since last fall. Today's one of those instances and word on the midranger comes from the GeekBench database, where the phone goes by the much cuter Meri (though obviously Mi 5c is a lot more meaningful). There are three recent entries, one from today, two from a couple of days ago, and those come on top of two more from last...
Oppo teases smartphone with 5x zoom ability
Oppo has sent out a press release teasing one of its upcoming smartphones, which will be unveiled during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month on the 27th. The release doesn't provide a lot of details apart from teasing the launch of "a 5x smartphone photography technology that will give users unprecedented ability to capture highly detailed images." The image, seen above, also has the tagline 'Go 5x further'. This leads us to believe with reasonable certainty that there is a phone with 5x optical zoom in the offing. Speaking about the technology, Sky Li, VP of...

And the latest leaked images prove that. The images reveal a device with a single camera on the back (as P10 doesn't support dual cam setup) with dual LED flash, a circular fingerprint sensor, a power button on the right side along with the volume rocker. The display is 5.5" Full HD and there is 3GB RAM underneath. Leaks also suggest a price...
Xiaomi to launch in-house Pinecone chipset on February 28

But now the Mi fans have something to really be ecstatic about - there is a date for the unveiling of the mystical Pinecone - February 28. An invitation for February 28 at China National Convention Center in Beijing for the Pinecone announcement Samsung, Apple and Huawei are the only three companies in the world that produce their own chipsets - respectively Exynos, A-series and Kirin. But now Xiaomi will become the second...
