If you are in the United States, and have pre-ordered a Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ through the company's official website, you'll likely be receiving a freebie (if not already). Some redditors - who placed their pre-orders on shop.samsung.com in the US - have revealed that they've received a free amplifier speaker dock from the South Korean firm. The accessory, as you can see in the images above, contains a USB Type-C port for docking the phone. It isn't yet clear whether all those who have pre-ordered the device will be getting the gift, or it's only for early pre-orders. The...

Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro starts receiving latest security update
Just a few days after it was launched in India, the Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro has started receiving an update in the country. Weighing in at around 35MB, it's basically a security update that bumps the Android security patch level to April 1. Aside from the latest security patch, there's currently no information on exactly what other changes (if any) the update brings along. As is usually the case with OTA roll outs, it may take some time for the update to hit your device. Meanwhile, if you feel impatient, you can manually check for the update by heading to your handset's Settings...
Nokia 3310 is on its way to Vodafone and EE in the UK
We already know that Carphone Warehouse will be selling the newly revived Nokia 3310 (2017) in the UK, because the retailer has boasted about seeing "an unprecedented level of demand" for the feature phone. Clove will also be offering the device, starting in May. But what about operators? Today both Vodafone and EE have confirmed that they will be stocking the new 3310. Unfortunately neither was kind enough to share a specific release date, so we'll have to stick to saying it's "coming soon". On the other hand, O2 and Three have no plans to sell the 3310, at least for now. The 3310...
HTC One X10 will have a 4,000 mAh battery, newly leaked promo materials reveal
Yesterday an official-looking poster for the upcoming HTC One X10 got leaked, and it promised us a "bigger battery". We were intrigued, for sure. Today a couple of additional promotional materials for the One X10 have been outed, as you can see below. And one of these thankfully clears up the mystery regarding the device's battery capacity. It's 4,000 mAh. That's great for a handset that should come with a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen, as per previous rumors. The One X10 will supposedly be powered by MediaTek's Helio P10, aided by 3GB of RAM. 32GB of storage will be built-in, and a...
ZTE sells tens of thousands of nubia Z17 mini units in 56 seconds
Following a short teaser campaign, ZTE sub-brand nubia made the Z17 mini official a week ago. The Cristiano Ronaldo-endorsed handset went on sale yesterday, and it's managed to sell out in just 56 seconds. That's right, all of the available units were gone less than one minute in. While ZTE hasn't publicly stated how many nubia Z17 mini devices it sold during that time, reports from Chinese media today are claiming that the total revenue exceeded 100 million yuan. Since the most expensive version of the nubia Z17 mini costs CNY 1,999, this means that at least 50,000 units were moved in 56...
OnePlus 5 name and model number confirmed by Chinese certification
OnePlus' next smartphone may have just got its name confirmed. A OnePlus device with the model number A5000 has been spotted in the database of China's Radio Regulation Authority. Since the OnePlus 3 had the model number A3000 and the 3T was A3010, it then stands to reason that the next handset in the line will be OnePlus 5. Thus the rumors about the company skipping the number "4" from its lineup due to tetraphobia have pretty much been confirmed. The regulatory listing doesn't reveal anything about the phone's most important specs, however. That said, if we go by past rumors the...
Check out this Galaxy S8 "Infinitely Amazing" video ad
Samsung Mobile USA uploaded a new Galaxy S8 ad on its YouTube account. It highlights all the new features of the flagship in one minute, combined with cool music and amazing visuals. The video starts with the device powering on "when it sees you." This is a reference to the iris scanner that Samsung made for Galaxy Note7, but after discontinuing the phablet, the technology eventually found its way in the Galaxy S8. Then it continues to the "Infinity Screen" and its (almost) bezel-free design, stating the world would get "infinitely bigger" with a camera that snatches "just about...
Galaxy S8 pre-orders in South Korea hit 720,000 units in a week
Another record bites the dust - the Samsung Galaxy S8 pre-orders hit 720,000 units for the first seven days. The previous best was 400,000 units in 12 days for now discontinued Galaxy Note7. Koh Dong-jin, Samsung Mobile president, said, that the Galaxy S8 "will be the first device to regain customers' trust and love. The market response is better than expected." The pre-order process will continue until Monday. Industry experts suggest that the number could reach as high as 1 million units, topping the Note7 2,5 times. Few of the new Galaxy S8 features that catch the attention...
