Epic Games confirms Fortnite’s new season won’t be playable on Apple devices

Apple and Epic Games are still in the middle of an ongoing legal battle as the company sues Apple for unfair market practices in the App Store. Following the removal of the game from both Apple and Android’s respective app stores, Epic games slapped both tech giants with lawsuits. Then on Tuesday, Epic Games won a small victory as the court would not allow Apple to sever ties with its APIs and Unreal Engine – a wide used gaming platform owned by Epic Games. The caveat was that Apple does not have to put Fortnite back on the App Store, but this also means that Fortnite players on...

Realme 6, 6i get August security patch and Smooth Scrolling feature with latest updates

Realme has released new software updates for the Realme 6 and 6i (aka Realme 6s outside India), which bump up the Android security patch level on both smartphones to August 2020 and bring along a bunch of new features. The first one is Smooth Scrolling, which makes scrolling appear "visually smoother, faster" on smartphones, and another is Super Nighttime Standby. Both these features are still under development and can be activated by heading over to the Settings > realme Lab menu on your device. Realme 6 Realme has also added a decimal point charging feature to both phones,...

BLU G90 Pro launches with Helio G90T chipset, $200 price tag

BLU has just launched its newest unlocked smartphone in the US market, the G90 Pro. We have to say, we didn't expect the name itself to make perfect sense, but it does: the phone is powered by MediaTek's Helio G90T chipset. In a mobile world dominated by impossibly complicated naming schemes, this is a breath of fresh air indeed. Then again, there's also a BLU G90, announced back in June, only that one has the Helio A25 SoC at the helm. Anyway, name shenanigans aside, the G90 Pro has a 6.5-inch 1080x2340 LCD touchscreen with 19:9 aspect ratio, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable...

Samsung Galaxy A12 is on the way, some details leak

Samsung is getting ready to refresh one of its lowest-end devices in the Galaxy A line soon. We're talking about the A11, which launched back in May, but is soon due to be replaced by the upcoming Galaxy A12. This phone will have the model number SM-A125F, according to a new report. That's not surprising at all, taking into account Samsung's naming scheme and the fact that the A11 is SM-A115F. Samsung Galaxy A11 The A12 is said to come in two storage options: 32GB and 64GB. The latter, upper tier was missing from its predecessor. The A12 is expected to keep the A11's PLS TFT...

Apple is reportedly working on AR bonus content for its Apple TV+ shows

Bloomberg reports that Apple is preparing to add Augmented Reality (AR) content that ties into shows from its Apple TV+ streaming service. This is intended to both help keep subscribers around and to lay the groundwork for the AR headset that the company is allegedly preparing for a 2022 launch. The new feature will allow fans to view characters, objects and locations from their favorite shows, e.g. a moon-walking scene from For All Mankind using an iPad or iPhone with AR capabilities. This is apparently intended to be bonus content rather than something you watch in sync with the show....

Germany's Sparkasse debit cards gain support for Apple Pay

Sparkasse's debit card - the most popular payment card in Germany - just received a green light from Apple and is now officially supported by Apple Pay. The card is used by a long list of customers from over 400 saving banks in the country. Sparkasse represents banks that belong to non-profit organizations from local regions. And the interesting part is that the company has already received support for its credit cards but it's only now that it gets support for its debit card. The support was expected to come around in July but was delayed. Source (in German)

Sony Xperia 5 II image leaks, shows ZEISS T* lenses, but no 3D ToF sensor

The Xperia 5-sized hole in Sony’s 2020 smartphone line-up may be filled soon - leakster Evan Blass just posted the first image of the phone. The design is essentially a scaled down Xperia 1 II as expected, but there are some differences. Starting with the camera on the back, we’re glad to see that the ZEISS T* logo is still in place. However, the 3D ToF sensor is missing, on the larger flagship it sits just below the ZEISS logo. That aside, the Xperia 5 II camera should be just as capable as that of the 1 II. Further evidence of that is the shutter key on the right side of the phone,...

Let the teasers begin – the Realme 7 is getting close to official announcement as the company kicks off the promo campaign with the tweet below. The motto of the campaign is “Redefining fastest” except with a “7” instead of an “F”, just so it’s clear which phone they are talking about. This isn’t the Realme X7 – that is part of the X-series while this is the sequel to the Realme 6, which came out in March of this year. Well, “sequels” more likely as there should be at least a vanilla and a Pro model. Redefining 7astest.Stay Tuned. pic.twitter.com/fYtkgKIIrH— realme (@realmemobiles)...

Asus Zenfone 7 Pro hands-on review

Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro go official with triple flip cam and 90Hz OLED display

The new Asus Zenfone 7 is not a gaming phone, though the Pro version uses the same Snapdragon 865+ chipset as the ROG Phone 3. The Zenfones are all-rounders, they want to be good at everything, though there is a special focus on the camera. Asus improved the flip-up camera from last year’s phone – first by adding a telephoto cam, second by improving the flip-up mechanism itself. It now uses a smaller motor that has more than double the torque. The connection to the main body has been improved and is now rated for 100 flips a day for 5 years straight. Also, once open, it can withstand 35 kg...
