Week 20 in review: OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro, Asus Zenfone 6, Moto One Vision are here

This was yet another big week in the world of tech. We got a number of exciting phone announcements and some interesting leaks along the way. So let's take a look back as we move into the new week. The biggest story by far was the announcement of OnePlus' two new phones. The OnePlus 7 Pro is the first OnePlus flagship that openly tries to battle it out with the big flagships on merit rather then on price. But the company hasn't given up on its usual practives and also brought the the OnePlus 7 - a superb overall package for a great price. Asus also might want a word when it comes...

Weekly poll: OnePlus 7 Pro is now available, who is getting one?

OnePlus is officially part of the mainstream - with its partnership with T-Mobile and a promo campaign with Robert Downey Jr., the company wants its brand to be as recognizable as Apple or Samsung. That also means it's not shy about the price. At $700, the OnePlus 7 Pro matches the iPhone XS ($730) and Galaxy 10e ($750 MSRP, though you could easily find an S10 for that kind of cash). Long-time fans will likely scoff at that price, but they can look to the OnePlus 7 as an upgrade path. Indeed, the non-Pro won't even be available in the new hunting ground for OnePlus, the US. Americans...

Counterclockwise: searching for the meaning of max, mini, pro, plus and other such names

Is "Pro" better than a "Plus"? Which is bigger, "Max" or "Note"? Which has the bigger battery? How small is a "mini", anyway? Some of these qualifiers do carry some meaning, e.g. "note" always means a larger device. Larger than the company's average phone that is, there is no legal minimum for a phone to be get "note" in its name. "Max" is more vague - it could mean a large screen, large battery or both. Similarly, "Pro" and "Plus" carry connotations of a more premium device (which often means larger too), but again there are no rules to naming phones. Let's start by finding which...
