Galaxy Fold 2 reportedly enters mass production, could be unveiled in August

A South Korean publication reports that Samsung has begun mass-producing the Galaxy Fold 2. Given the timing, a release in August seems likely. It's possible that we'll get official details about the phone as early as June (Samsung officially confirmed only a vague H2 launch window for the Galaxy Fold 2 and Note20). The insiders (citing component orders from Samsung) believe that the Galaxy Fold 2 will use Ultra Thin Glass (UTG), just like the Z Flip. It's allegedly the same UTG by Schott and Dowoo Insys. The original Galaxy Fold The new Fold is expected to cost less, despite...

Apple iPhone 12 series to launch in late November, new report suggests

According to a new report from Cowen investment bank, the iPhone 12 series launch will be delayed by at least two months and will take place in November instead of the usual mid-September time-frame. Previous reports estimated a 1-month delay to both the launch and mass production timeframes due to the ongoing pandemic. The new report also predicts a combined 35 million unit production output in Q2 2020 which would be 13% lower than the same period last year. Regardless of the actual iPhone 12 launch date, we should be getting 4 new models, all of which will support 5G connectivity and...

Redmi announces its first PC monitor, the Redmi Display 1A

Redmi is constantly expanding to other market niches as evident from its upcoming Redmi X TV and Redmibook laptop but this one comes a little bit as a surprise. The company unveiled its first-ever PC monitor called Redmi Display 1A - an aggressively priced monitor with very impressive design. The monitor itself uses an LCD IPS panel with a standard 1920 x 1080px resolution in a 23.8-inch diagonal. The peak brightness is 250 nits with usual contrast ratio of 1000:1. We don't know if there will be any other versions as this is the one that leaked through the Google Play Console. Samsung secures 80% of all OLED orders for this year's iPhones

Last year a report claimed that Samsung would be the exclusive OLED panel supplier for all iPhones in 2020 but that's probably not going to be the case as per the latest intel. Insiders suggest that Samsung has taken around 80% of all orders for OLED panels for this year's iPhones with the rest of the orders being fulfilled by BOE and LG. This way the Cupertino-based company will diversify its supply chain and won't have to rely on a single contractor. Another reason for choosing more than one supplier is the huge amount of OLEDs needed to equip the iPhones in 2020. After all, the...

According to the new report the iPhone 11 is already ahead of last year's best selling iPhone XR. It's all pretty impressive sales figures given the global pandemic and slowdown in global shipments.
