Canalys: Global smartphone shipments to decline 3.1% in 2019

The latest Canalys analysis forecasts another grim year for global smartphone sales with an estimated 3.1% decline compared to 2018. The team expects to see 1.35 billion units in sales volume which is slightly below last year's 1.39 billion mark. The new report takes into account the current US Executive order which blocked Huawei's access to US-based hardware and software firms. Samsung Galaxy A20, A50 and A70 launch in Canada on June 7

Samsung Galaxy A series will premiere in North America, beginning with Canada, on June 7. Canadian buyers will be able to buy the Samsung Galaxy A20, A50 and A70 this Friday from Samsung's online and Experience stores and all Samsung partners across Canada. The Galaxy A20 (32GB/3GB) will cost CAD350 (€230/$260), the Galaxy A50 (64GB/4GB) CAD450 (€300/$330) and the Galaxy A70 (128GB/6GB) CAD630 (€420/$470). The next iteration of macOS is now official and it's called Catalina. While the Huawei Mate flagships are months away, the Huawei Mate 30 lite may arrive in just a couple of days. The phone is called "Maimang 8" in China, but remember that the Maimang 7 launched as the Mate 20 lite globally. Three teaser images show June 5 as the reveal date along with key specs. The Mate 30 lite will have a 6.21" notched screen and a fingerprint reader on the back, near the triple camera. Samsung Pay now works with New York City's new One Metro New York contactless fare payment system.
