Google Play Games services no longer supported on iOS, some features cut from Android
Google is often praised for its openness in cross-platform compatibility, most notably with iOS, Android's largest and most direct competitor. Unfortunately, this open-mindedness doesn't always benefit Google like in the case of Android's Google Play Games service. Given that iOS already has Game Center, the OS is not in need of another gaming service to clutter the default experience. As a result, Google has found very low usage of the service among iOS users. At the same time, it also found that Gifting, Requests, and Quests on the service were also quite low across both iOS and...

We have no doubt that the Galaxy S8 can carry the title of the "best smartphone display on the market". After all, Samsung's Infinity Display has a lot going for it, according to DisplayMate's findings: the...
Moto X 2017 may have been slipped into Motorola's 44th anniversary video
Only yesterday, Moto USA has released a video on its YouTube account celebrating the past 44 years of cellular mobility and pays homage to Motorola's greatest invention: the cellular phone. In the first few seconds of the video there is a brief montage of flip-phones and smartphones, a couple of which are not immediately recognizable. This, on top of the fact that the video is only available in 480p (limiting the amount of detail we can make out of a single frame), and we've got ourselves a great foundation for speculation. One device in particular struck us. Consider that this...

Samsung publishes Galaxy S8's "Design Story", using phrases such as "holistic oneness"
Alright, kids, it's time to learn something new today. How about the concept of "holistic oneness"? That's what the Galaxy S8 is a manifestation of, in case you didn't know. This revelation comes straight from Samsung's marketing department, which published the "Design Story" for its latest flagship duo today. The Story takes us through the most important aspects of the phones' design, as you'd expect from the name, but for some reason needlessly peppers the whole thing with phrases such as "a grip made from curves" or "a design that merges the user and device as one". So yeah, it looks...

Well, YouTube channel JerryRig Everything is here to deliver all of those, combined, in one neat torture video. See for yourself below. Not only did it show you the LG G6 being durability tested with the standard suite of scratch, burn, and bend challenges, but if you paid attention you also learned something about granite. Apple talks about future Mac Pro design, updates current ones
Apple finally broke the silence on the growing and near deafening criticism on the lack of focus on the Mac lineup, especially with regards to the current Mac Pro, which was launched back in 2013 and hasn't received any updates since then. In a small briefing with select journalists, Apple talked about what it plans to do with the Mac Pro and the Mac lineup in general in the future, as well as announcing some updates for current products. The biggest takeaway is that there is a new Mac Pro coming. Apple mentioned that it will be returning to a modular design after the current one...

We have a first good look at the next LeEco flagship - the Le X850. The device has been pictured from every angle possible, including a few images showing the phone's software and more importantly, its official name - LeEco Le Max 3. The images show the same design we saw when the upcoming LeEco smartphone passed through Chinese TENAA. It was rumored then to be arriving on April 11. The phone is encapsulated in a metal shell with antenna lines running the course of its top and bottom. The rumors say the screen on the front is a 5.7" Quad HD panel although we've seen a 5.5-incher in the...

alcatel Flash arrives with 4 cameras and 10 CPU cores
Alcatel has come up with a new smartphone, named the alcatel Flash, and it's not to be confused with the other alcatel Flash from 2014, which was then succeeded by the Flash 2 in 2015. In any case, what logically had to have been the Flash 3, and in fact isn't, is quite intriguing. Taking the dual camera fad a notch higher, the alcatel Flash packs two on the back and two on the front. The rear ones are a 2x13MP affair, one monochrome, the other is RGB. The latter uses the Sony IMX258 - same sensor as in the LG G6. Both are behind f/2.0 lenses. 4K video recording is supported, though...

Samsung foldable phone to arrive in 2019
The hopes of seeing a foldable Samsung smartphone this year were killed today. The Samsung Display Principal Engineer Kim Tae-woong said the bezel-less display sells well and there is no need to rush a technology that will only be ready for commercial launch in 2019. The statement puts a halt to all the speculations that the alleged Galaxy X could debut at IFA in September. Korean analysts confirmed that the bezel-less displays are profitable for Samsung and the company doesn't need to rush products that aren't ready. According to Chung Won-seok, Samsung Display has 20% operating...

Sony Xperia XZ Premium goes on pre-order in NL on May 1
The Sony Xperia XZ Premium soaked up quite a bit of spotlight at this year's MWC. If nothing else, you got to hand it to Sony that the handset is quite bold with a 4K 5.46-inch display and impressive 960 fps slow motions video capture. All the fan hype is definitely putting some pressure on the Japanese OEM for a speedy release. And it looks like it might be coming a bit sooner than initially anticipaced. According to Sony's local branch in the Netherlands, the handset will go on pre-order on May 1. The first units should then hit shelves around the end of May or the beginning of...

No premium Zenfone 3 Zoom variant for US, says Asus
Back in February this year, when Asus confirmed that the US launch of its Zenfone 3 Zoom smartphone has been delayed, the company said that it's because it will release a more powerful variant in the country. Well, turns out that's not the case. The company is now saying it was a mistake on their part. This means the US will get the same model that's been launched elsewhere in the world. As per the previous confirmation, the US launch for the Zenfone 3 Zoom is set for this quarter, although an exact date isn't yet known. Source | Via

But now we know the European launch date at least. UK retailer Clove has the handset listed on its website, and the listing says "first stock expected 5th May." The phone carries a £499 price tag. Other European markets should also get the Keyone around the same time. No word on exactly when the US will get the device, although it's already FCC certified. Source
