Watch the Indian Realme 6i announcement live here

A new phone is arriving in India, called Realme 6i. It is a rebranded Realme 6S since the global Realme 6i is already selling under the name Narzo 10. Generally it's a more affordable alternative of the regular Realme 6. The event begins at 12:30 local time and will be live-streamed on YouTube, and we’ve embedded the video below. The Indian Realme 6i is basically the Realme 6 with a downgraded main camera sensor - it is now 48MP, instead of 64MP, while the other three cams remain unchanged: 8MP ultrawide + 2MP B&W for portraits + 2MP macro. On the inside you get Helio G90T...

DxOMark reviews the LG V60 ThinQ’s camera with average scores

DxOMark has posted its review of the LG V60 ThinQ’s camera setup. It was the first smartphone camera to be able to record 4K video, and it was one of the first smartphones to launch with the Snapdragon 865. The V60’s camera hardware includes a 64MP, 1/1.7” sensor with an f/1.8 aperture lens, 0.8µm pixels, phase-detection autofocus, and OIS. This is accompanied by just two more cameras: a 13MP ultra wide camera with f/1.9 aperture, and a ToF depth sensor for portrait photos. There’s no dedicated telephoto camera on the V60. In still images, the V60’s exposure and dynamic range...

Watch our vivo X50 Pro video review

The vivo X50 Pro is the first smartphone with a gimbal-stabilized camera, although it isn’t the highest-end smartphone of the lineup, what else does it have to offer? The phone has a nice, premium design, a bright and sharp 90Hz refresh rate AMOLED display, and FunTouch OS has seen significant improvements that make it less like an iOS clone, and more like Android. The quad-camera is fully equipped, with a 48MP main sensor, two telephoto cameras (one of which is a periscope camera), and an 8MP ultra wide camera. The main camera is one that’s stabilized by vivo’s micro-gimbal system...

Samsung Galaxy Watch3 appears in support pages, a stainless steel Wi-Fi only model this time

New support pages for the Samsung Galaxy Watch3 have gone live – one for the 41mm model and one for the larger 45mm watch. Both are listed twice, once with a stainless steel body and once with no mention of material. Note that these are SM-R840 and SM-R850 while earlier this month we saw support pages for the SM-R845. The “5” at the end indicates and LTE model, “0” means only local connectivity. There are two more, the R840X and R850X. However, the “X” usually stands for a demo unit, so you’re unlikely to see these available for purchase (though it seems that Walmart is trying to get...

Xiaomi first introduced the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, which was followed by a more affordable Redmi Note 9, and finally the lineup was complete with the Redmi 9 that was announced two times - first for Europe, and two weeks later in China. This €150 smartphone is arguably the true bearer of the Redmi spirit, aiming to deliver solid smartphone experience at the lowest price point possible. The Redmi 9 is a clear step forward from its Redmi 8 predecessor and in fact sits closer to its bigger brother - the Redmi Note 9 - with a proper 6.53” LCD with Full HD+...

The pilot run of Wholesale will begin next month and will focus on the grocery and fashion categories. Going forward, the goal is to help...

Gorilla Glass Victus unveiled: survives 2m drops and has twice the scratch resistance

Corning just introduced the next generation of Gorilla Glass – no, not “7”, but “Victus”. The new aluminosilicate glass promises significantly improved resistance to scratches and falling onto hard surfaces compared to competing glasses and even older GG generations. In tests, Victus has shown that it can shrug off a face-first fall on a hard surface from 2 meters (6.5 ft). That’s a drop onto concrete from head height. Non-Corning glasses typically shatter in drops from just 0.8 m, says the company. Gorilla Glass 5 had an 80% chance to survive a drop from 1.6 m, GG6 improved those...

Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro Zoom scores highly in DxOMark's testing

DxOMark did a review of Xiaomi's Redmi K30 Pro Zoom and found out that it's not too shabby. At least according to the overall score of 120 points. This puts it right after last year's Huawei Mate 30 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro. They found that the phone excels in autofocus speeds, exposure, white balance accuracy and the amount of detail in standard and zoom shots outdoors are also impressive. However, there's a loss of texture at times and colors get a distinctive hue. As opposed to the outdoor shots, the indoor zoom shots lose detail. The ultrawide camera was found lacking when it...
