Recently, Google confirmed that Android Pay will soon be launched in 5 more countries, including Russia and Canada. Inline with that, the Russian launch happened earlier this week. And now, we have an expected launch date for Canada as well. According to a report out of the North American country, Google's mobile payments service will be officially launched there on May 31. The report in question cites sources with access to internal documents on the matter. Nougat update starts hitting LG K8 V
If you remember, last year, Verizon launched a variant of the LG K8 for its network, running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. The device - dubbed LG K8 V - has now started receiving the Nougat update. The update arrives as software version VS50020a, and includes version 7.0 of Google's mobile operating system. The device's software update page on the carrier's website (Source link below) contains details on the changes the new OS includes. As is usually the case with OTA roll outs, it may take some time for the update to hit your device. Source | Via
[Mod] Get Pixel nav keys on the Galaxy S8 with this no-root mod
If you like tinkering with things and don't particularly care for the Galaxy S8(+)'s new Samsung Experience on-screen keys, you're in luck. Senior member Tigerhoods over at XDA-developers has come up with a mod in the form of a small APK that replaces the Samsung nav keys with an overlay to look like those nav buttons found on the Google Pixel. All without needing root! The best news of all is that you can still change the color of the nav bar as you normally would in the Samsung settings, and you can also still change the order of your nav buttons. Before we tell you how to get...
Sony to focus on mid-range and flagship devices from now on
Sony was off to a rocky start ever since it shed itself of the Xperia Z series to give birth to a new category of devices that would be known as "Premium Standard". The Xperia X didn't do very well given its price point, choice of processor and lack of features from the Xperia Z lineup. Yesterday's Sony IR (Investor relations) Day has seen the company confirm that it will no longer be making smartphones in the ~$500 price range or what it calls its Premium Standard' category of smartphones. From now on, Sony will only focus on the midrange XA lineup and the flagship Xperia XZ...
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 stops by Geekbench ahead of its unveiling tomorrow
Xiaomi should be unveiling the Mi Max 2 at an event tomorrow. Before that had a chance to happen, someone in the possession of a prototype of the device decided to find out how it would do in Geekbench 4.1. As usual, the benchmark run has revealed some of the phone's specs. According to Geekbench's info listing, the Mi Max 2 is powered by either the Snapdragon 625 or 626 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM. It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat, undoubtedly underneath Xiaomi's very own MIUI. The Mi Max 2 has been rumored to come with the Snapdragon 626, so that makes sense. We can't be 100% sure...
Archive feature is now rolling out to Google Photos, lets you hide images from the main view
Although an official announcement hasn't been published (yet), today Google has started rolling out what has to be one of the most requested features for its Photos service. It's called Archive and once you get access to it you'll essentially be able to hide certain images from the main view of the Photos app. Currently this functionality has been spotted on some Android devices, but it is obviously going to arrive on iPhones and the web-based version of Photos in due course as well. To check if you have it, slide out the drawer in your Google Photos for Android app and check to see...
DJI unveils Spark, its smallest and lightest drone yet
DJI's foldable Mavic Pro from last year was already rather easy to pack along on your trips, but the Chinese company has unveiled an even smaller and lighter drone today. It's called Spark and is a "mini drone", DJI says. It's not calling it a "selfie drone", although that's probably what most people will end up using it for. The Spark takes off from your palm and can be controlled with hand gestures alone, in a first for any drone. You can send it up and away from you, tell it to capture an image, and call it back - all with such gestures and nothing else. The new drone weighs just...

The VIRB 360 also has GPS built-in and Wi-Fi to transmit and live stream videos from the camera to your smartphone and over to the internet. T-Mobile really wants you to ditch Verizon, offers to pay off your iPhone or Pixel
Are you currently a Verizon customer? Well then, T-Mobile would like to have a word. The magenta carrier will be launching a new campaign called #GetOutOfTheRed on May 31. This basically should entice Verizon customers to switch to T-Mobile. How will it achieve that? Well, if you're with Big Red and switch to TMo, the latter will pay off the iPhone or Pixel you bought from Verizon. You have to sign up for the T-Mobile One plan, but you do get to keep that device you already own. You must however add Premium Device Protection to your plan, an insurance option that costs $15 per month and...
New 32GB iPhone 6 is now available in the UK
The re-released iPhone 6 that Apple quietly launched in certain Asian markets (including India) earlier this year has reached a new destination today. Following its release at the opposite end of Europe in March, it's now arrived in the UK. There's only one configuration on offer, unsurprisingly (because that's been the situation elsewhere as well). EE is now offering the 32GB iPhone 6 in Space Grey. The phone is free upfront if you choose a plan that costs £35.49 per month, which gives you 1,000 minutes, unlimited texts, along with 2GB of data and free EU roaming. For just £2.50 per month...
Xbox Game Pass subscription service is coming next month
Microsoft is busy readying a subscription service for its Xbox One gaming console. This will be called Xbox Game Pass when it launches next month. It will give you access to more than 100 titles created for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. In return, you'll have to pay $9.99 per month. The Game Pass service, or better put the idea of such a service, was first unveiled by Microsoft back in February. The full list of games you'll have access to can be seen here. Unlike Sony's PlayStation Now, Game Pass will let you download the included games - no streaming necessary. If you're a subscriber, you...
Red Sony Xperia XZ Premium is on the way too
Back in February when Sony announced the Xperia XZ Premium, it only showcased it in two color versions: Luminous Chrome and Deepsea Black. Then last month a third option became official, and it's known as Bronze Pink. However, it turns out that those aren't all the hues you should expect to see the phone clad in. Today a fourth variation has been leaked, and we'll simply call it what it is: red. That said, undoubtedly Sony will come up with a much more posh-sounding moniker for this color. Red Sony Xperia XZ Premium The red XZ Premium has starred in a rather extensive, if...
Asus ZenScreen portable monitor will cost $249 when it arrives in the US in July
Asus really likes to brand its products Zen this, Zen that. And last year at IFA it unveiled a new Zen device - the ZenScreen. This is a 15.6-inch 1080p portable monitor, and oddly it's still not available. What's more, it's also not going to be out for quite some time, at least in the US. B&H has started taking pre-orders for the device, pricing it at $249. The retailer expects to ship those pre-orders in July, though a more specific time frame hasn't been mentioned. If the ZenScreen ends up releasing towards the end of July, it means it would have spent 11 months being announced...

Save $125 on an iPad Pro 9.7, shortly before its successor is set to arrive
Need some additional (though circumstantial) proof that Apple will in fact announce a new 10.5" iPad Pro on June 5 at its WorldWide Developer Conference? OK then, how about a big price cut for the device that is widely considered to be the predecessor of that tablet? The iPad Pro 9.7 can now be had for only $474.99 with 32GB of storage, if you don't mind shopping at Best Buy. That's a whopping $125 off the usual price, and $25 less than the lowest price we've seen for this model yet. Surely it's all just one big coincidence, and not a stock clearing sale, right? Well, you'll be the...
OnePlus 5 will sport the Snapdragon 835 chipset, CEO confirms
The OnePlus 5 is coming this summer, that's already been confirmed. And yes, it will be called OnePlus 5 not OnePlus 4 because of tetraphobia. The company's CEO, Pete Lau, has teased the upcoming device once so far, but he failed to mention any specifics back then. Things have changed, and OnePlus seems to be ready to start a teaser campaign for its next handset, one that will reveal its specs bit by bit. This is a very familiar strategy that OnePlus has used before, and with some success - it basically keeps its name in the news week after week. So the first revelation regarding the...
Nokia 3310 (2017) goes on sale in the UK
The Nokia 3310 (2017) was a surprise hit at MWC this year because people mix up nostalgia for their own past with nostalgia for products that were available in said past. So for many, the 3310 brought back nice memories - once being young, for example. And HMD Global, the company now making Nokia phones, is all too happy to take (some of) your money for enabling all that. If you are in the UK and can't imagine living one more day without a phone that isn't smart, nor very useful, then by all means run to your closest Carphone Warehouse or Vodafone store. All of those should have the...
Samsung Gear 360 (2017) lands in the US tomorrow, yours for $229
Samsung's latest Gear 360 camera launched in the UK already, and now it's finally on its way to the US. It will land across the pond sooner than you might expect, in fact. The Gear 360 (2017) that Samsung announced in March will be out in the US tomorrow. You'll be able to purchase one from Best Buy, Amazon, every one of the major carriers, as well as many other retailers. It will cost $229, which means it's going to be significantly cheaper than its predecessor from last year. It's also getting much better distribution, so clearly Samsung thinks more highly of this iteration than...

Dual rear-camera sporting Motorola Moto G5S Plus leaks in images
After the Motorola Moto G5S, now the device's Plus variant has also leaked. The leaked images reveal the phone features a design quite similar to the G5S, with dual rear-camera setup being one of the main exceptions. This is not the first time we're hearing about the Moto G5S Plus - a recently-leaked presentation slide revealed details like dual rear cameras and 5.5-inch Full HD display for the phone. However, this is the first time we're seeing the handset. The new leak also reveals some other details like octa-core CPU, Android Nougat, and full metal body. There's also a front...
