Oppo phone shines on Geekbench with Dimensity 1000+, looks like the Reno5 Pro 5G

Oppo is preparing a phone called Reno5 5G for the market but usually, the midrange lineup has a Pro variant as well. While we’ve never heard any rumors about the phone whatsoever, a device with the model number PDSM00 appeared on Geekbench and it sure looks like a Pro version of the Reno5 - Dimensity 1000+ chipset, 8 GB RAM, Android 11. The single-core result of 2392 and the multi-core score of 5836 are nothing extraordinary, although we rarely see anymore a device tested on Geekbench 4.1, given there is a new version to test the performance of the CPU. We are leaning towards a...

Moto E7 official-looking renders leak showing two colors

Motorola sure is taking its sweet time bringing the E7 to the market, if we go by how long it has been leaking - and the fact that its relative, the E7 Plus, has been official since September. Today we get a new expose of the Moto E7, which is the star of two separate sets of official-looking press renders, showing it in two color versions. Accompanying the renders are also some of the E7's purported specs. The phone is said to come with a 6.5-inch HD+ display, a 48 MP main rear camera aided by a 2 MP depth sensor, a 5 MP selfie snapper buried inside that waterdrop notch up front, and...

OnePlus’ newest Nord phones won’t be updated past Android 11

The new OnePlus Nord phones, the N10 5G and the N100, are questionable choices by the company. It’s not to say they are terrible phones, but they aren’t exactly the stand-out devices that OnePlus has been pumping out over the last couple of years. The latest development on these devices is OnePlus has confirmed to Android Central that the N10 and N100 will only be upgraded through Android 11. These two Nord devices come with Android 10 out of the box, so it was assumed that OnePlus – with its excellent history record of updating devices – would eventually push an update to Android 11. As...

When it comes to deals from its online store, OnePlus has those more than Apple does, but way less than other Android makers. Today is one of those special days, though. If you were looking into OnePlus' latest flagship-ish phone, the 8T, but thought its $749 price off putting, maybe this is a chance for you, but you need to buy two of them. Not just that, but you're also receiving not one, but two pairs of OnePlus Buds for free. The...

Starting June 1, any files uploaded to Google Photos will be counted towards the 15GB default storage that you get with every new Google account. If you have a Google One subscription, then it will be counted towards that. Apple adds three new colors to Solo Loop and Sport Band Apple Watch bands

Apple has quietly added three new colors to the Solo Loop and Sport Band silicone bands for the Apple Watch. The three new colors are an orangey Kumquat, a light-blue Northern Blue and a dark purplish Plum color. The three new colors are available for these two silicone bands and aren't available for the Braided Loop or the Sport Loop bands. Apple usually adds watch band colors to go with a new season, but Kumquat and Plum aren't very wintery. Guess White and Blue are just about the only two colors of winter anyway.

Google Pixel 4a does well in DxOMark review but can’t compete with multi-cam setups

Google’s Pixel 4a is the search giant’s most affordable smartphone option at the moment. Pixels are known for their camera prowess and the 4a’s single rear-facing 12.2MP shooter was put to the test by the folks over at DxOMark. The hardware here is identical to last year’s Pixel 4 and 4 XL, namely a 1/2.55-inch sensor with 1.4µm pixels and f/1.7 aperture. There’s OIS and dual pixel PDAF combined with Google’s excellent image processing algorithms. While decent on paper, these specs managed to net the Pixel 4a just 111 overall points which positions it towards the bottom of the...

Kuo: Apple won't release iPhone SE model in H1 2021

Apple fans got really excited when the affordable and compact iPhone SE (2020) was introduced back in April but apparently they are not getting a 2021 version of it. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Cupertino is not planning to launch a new SE smartphone in the first half of 2021. The prediction was part of a bigger analysis on the overall optics market - up to four Apple suppliers are into a fierce battle for providing cameras for the iPhone 13 and that is likely to affect the preparation and production of an eventual iPhone SE (2021). Kuo revealed that 2021 will see intense...
