Google confirms only Pixel XL can charge with 18W, Pixel peaks at 15W
As it turns out, there is a particular detail on the Google Pixel's page that was not correct. After a well-respected tester of the Android Community recorded data from the Google Pixel, it turned out the 5-inch HTC-built Google phone was not charging at the advertised 18W of peak power that the charger is rated for. After Android Poilice (perfect context for the publication's title) reached out to Google for clarification of the tester's findings, Google admitted an oversight in the description of the phone's specification pages when it listed both phones capable of charging at...

Asus Zenwatch 3 goes on pre-order in the US for $229.99
The latest smartwatch from Asus can now be pre-ordered in the US. The Taiwanese company announced the Zenwatch 3 at the end of August at IFA, following up with pricing details for the US last month. And now you can make sure you're among the first people to wear a Zenwatch 3 if you pre-order it from B&H. The price you'll need to pay for that privilege is $229.99, which is very decent for a wearable that comes with a round screen and no 'flat tire' design. Perhaps the biggest shortcoming of the Zenwatch 3 is that it doesn't have a heart rate sensor. The watch should start shipping at some...
Samsung Galaxy S6 edge is getting the October security update too
Yesterday Samsung sent out an update for the Galaxy S6 edge+ which contains the October security patches for Android. And today the exact same thing is happening for the smaller S6 edge. This isn't the most timely of updates, considering that in just a few days Google will out the November security release for Android, but better late than never. The update is going out to unlocked units of the Galaxy S6 edge in Europe. It brings with it patches for 68 Android vulnerabilities, but also some Samsung-specific fixes. These unfortunately haven't been listed by the Korean company in the...
iFixit tears down the new entry-level 13" MacBook Pro, deems it very hard to repair
Last week Apple finally refreshed its MacBook Pro line of laptops, after many years. And while the company mostly talked about the Touch Bar at the event, the entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro doesn't have that, or Touch ID fingerprint recognition. This cheapest (if you can even use that word for a device that starts at $1,499) model has been torn down by iFixit today, revealing its insides. The laptop in question has the model number A1708, and an extra-long Escape key for whatever reason. To get to the internals, you first need to unscrew six pentalobe screws, which is a smaller number...
Tango-infused Lenovo Phab2 Pro is now available alongside 35 AR apps
Right on cue, Lenovo's Phab2 Pro is now available to purchase from its online store in the US. The Chinese company revealed the launch date last week, and it's stayed on schedule. The Phab2 Pro is special because it's the first shipping phone to be Tango-enabled. Tango is Google's augmented reality play for your handheld device. The Phab2 Pro is priced at $499.99 unlocked, and for now its launch seems to be limited to the US. Google has announced that 35 AR apps are already available in the Play Store, ready to be used on the Phab2 Pro once you get it. Examples of what these let you do,...

Another set of leaked Moto M live images is doing the rounds
The upcoming Moto M is one of Motorola's most-leaked smartphones in recent memory. It's unclear if this has anything to do with the fact that it will combine a full metal build with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner (the latter being a first for a Moto device), or with the fact that it's expected to launch in China first. Either way, we've seen a lot of leaked renders and live images depicting the Moto M. Earlier today, it was found in the AnTuTu benchmark's database, and now we have another set of leaked hands-on pictures showing the handset. Here they are for your viewing...
First batch of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 units sold out in 50 seconds
Xiaomi understandably turned more than a few heads with the announcement of the Mi Mote 2, also topping things off quickly with the Mi Mix. The latter is yet to officially go on sale, but the wait shouldn't be long now, if the suggested November 4 date is met. Meanwhile, the Mi Note 2 already had its first sale today and it went incredibly well. In fact, the Mi Note 2 officially broke the Mi 5 record, with its first sale concluding in only 50 seconds. Now, to be fair, we can't be exactly be sure how many units Xiaomi put out in the initial wave, but nonetheless, it is an impressive...

Huawei Mate 9 (leaked images) Some additional renders show a dual-camera on the back - one of those will shoot 20MP stills, the other 12MP. The Leica brand is not visible in those renders, but the rumor mill thinks the...
MediaTek-powered Motorola Moto M stops by AnTuTu
It is not always easy to navigate and decipher the inner-workings of the rumor mill. Lenovo, for one, really has us in a pickle with its upcoming releases. According to leaks the Chinese OEM will unveil the Motorola Moto M on November 8. The MediaTek MT6750 that was originally suggested to power the Moto M was later replaced by whispers of the highly-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 625. However, a new AnTuTu listing now suggests that the smartphone will feature a MediaTek after all, but rather the MT6755, also known as the Helio P10, with a Mali-T860 GPU. As for the rest of the...

Tag Heuer updated its Android Wear-powered watch, the Connected, and the price now properly reflects its luxury status - a wallet-shrinking $9,900. That's a long way off the $1,500 of the original and the design hasn't changed much. Let's talk specs first. The watch has a 46mm Titanium Grade 2 casing (12.8mm thick), lugs and push button. The titanium has been coated with carbide and a anti-fingerprint coating. The glass is scratch-resistant sapphire and the whole watch is IP67 rated - waterproof up to a meter for half an hour (not really a swimmer's watch, but protected from the...
Apple releases iOS 10.2 beta with Unicode 9.0 emoji set
Apple released a new beta of iOS 10.1 to developers yesterday. It features a bunch of additions and improvements, but probably the biggest one for most users is going to be the new emoji. For starters, iOS finally added support for the Unicode 9.0 emoji set. This includes some new emoji, such as shrug, facepalm, rolling on the floor laughing, selfie, bacon, and a whole bunch of other food and animal emoji. Apple also redesigned its set of animal and food emoji, giving them a much needed fresh coat of paint, and they look much more natural now and suited for high resolution Retina...
