Oppo Reno3 Pro announced with 44MP dual selfie camera

Oppo introduced its Reno3 lineup back in December 2019 in China, with the Pro version sporting a 5G chipset. Today, the company announced the international non-5G Oppo Reno3 Pro, which comes with two selfie cameras nested inside a flat OLED panel. The Reno3 Pro is the first smartphone with the recently announced Mediatek Helio P95 chipset. It has octa-core CPU with two Cortex-A75 cores runing at up to 2.2GHz and 8GB RAM. Storage is either 128GB or 256GB and you get a microSD card slot for further expansion. The phone is built around a 6.5" Super AMOLED panel with a 20:9 ratio,...

Samsung Galaxy Buds+ review

Truly wireless headphones have been part of my daily life for the past three years, and I've grown accustomed to the Galaxy family, starting with the IconX (2018) and then transitioning to Galaxy Buds. When Samsung announced the revamped Galaxy Buds+ are incoming, I got excited because I truly hoped the Korean company would finally fix the massive flaws that I was living with in the past twelve months. Samsung Galaxy IconX (2018) vs Galaxy Buds+ vs Galaxy Buds The Samsung Galaxy Buds+ ships in three colors - White, Black, and Blue, with the latter option arriving at GSMArena's...

Watch the Oppo Reno3 Pro launch live

Oppo is preparing to take the stage in New Delhi to unveil the Oppo Reno3 Pro, the international version of the Reno 3 Pro 5G, which is currently available only in China. The company has revealed much about the phone officially and it's even available for pre-registration on Flipkart, Amazon.in and other retailers. The Reno3 Pro will upgrade to a 64MP main camera (the 5G model has a 48MP sensor). The other three modules of the quad-camera setup remain the same: 13MP telephoto snapper, 8MP ultrawide unit and a 2MP monochrome camera. The other big change is the 44MP camera on the front -...

Week 9 in review: Xperia 1 II, Realme X50 Pro, V60 ThinQ, iQOO 3, Mate Xs are here

It was supposed to be the first week of the Mobile World Congress and while the MWC didn't happen in Barcelona, many companies still went forward and announced new products at online presentations. Sony, Samsung, LG, vivo, Realme, Huawei and even HTC all announced phones this week. Let's start with Sony. It gave us the Xperia 1 II (that's One Mark Two) with improvements all around. The Mark Two has a bigger battery, more capable cameras, a headphone jack and better performance. It's coming to Europe sometime in late Spring, priced at €1,200. Sony also announced the Xperia Pro - a...

Top 10 trending phones of week 9

The MWC was cancelled, but we still got a bunch of new phones this week and one of them even managed to top our tredning chart. The Sony Xperia 1 II caused quite a stir and it might just be what the doctor perscribed to reverse the falling sales. It dethroned the Galaxy S20 Ultra, which is now second, while the mid-range Galaxy A51 completes the podium. Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro edged the Redmi Note 8 duo for fourth, while another newly announced phone took seventh - the Samsung Galayx M31. In eight we have the Galaxy A71, which just managed to hold the charge of LG's newest flagship - the...

Honor 9X Pro in for review

Despite being left without Google's Mobile Services since last May, Huawei and its Honor subsidiary keep pumping new phones. The initial response was to limit the availability of new phones outside China, but the company has been working hard on improving its HMS alternatives and is now slowly starting to re-expand its overseas portfolio. The Honor 9X Pro is the latest phone to go global and on the hardware side of things it seems to offer excellent value for its price tag. It brings a very big display, sold chipset, versatile cameras, big battery and a nice design. The Honor 9X...

Weekly poll: Sony asks for a second chance with Xperia 1 II and Xperia 10 II

A year after the rebranding and change of direction of its mobile line, Sony unveiled the Mark II models - with multiple improvements, Sony seems to have delivered just the phone that people were asking for. But will you get one? We'll start with the Sony Xperia 1 II (read as "mark two"). The triple 12MP camera features major improvements from the previous generation. For the first time, the cameras use ZEISS-calibrated lenses with ZEISS T* coating that reduces reflections that may create ghost effects. The main camera has a much larger sensor than before - 1/1.7" vs. 1/2.55". The...

Weekly poll results: Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro loved by fans, non-Pro just a bit more

Xiaomi's latest flagship duo was welcomed with opened arms by fans in last week's poll. Interestingly enough, though, the more capable (but more expensive) Pro model placed second - it was very close, but still the base model proved more popular. The Xiaomi Mi 10 5G beat its Pro sibling by 2 percentage points. And it was well ahead of Mi Note 10, which is a good deal less expensive despite having two extra cameras. Telephoto cameras just weren't the most important feature for voters. The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G does have a 5x zoom cam plus faster wired charging (50W vs. 30W), but its higher...
