The new Nokia 3310: a tug on the heart strings that failed
"Nostalgia is a seductive liar" George Ball wrote in Newsweek back in 1971. That quote still rings true today as we look at the new Nokia 3310 in an attempt to be transported back to the heyday of the original. I know that memories are often rosy, I know that the memes use hyperbole when talking about the original Nokia 3310. It went down in history as The Indestructible Phone, even though Nokia had an entirely separate line of sporty, rugged phones. I remember a guy in school who used to kick around a Nokia 5210 like a football and then put it together again in full working...

Until then, existing players will be able to play online multiplayer games for free. After the service starts, you will have to pay a fee to keep playing online. For your money, you will also get a free classic game every month. You will also...
MWC 2017 is over, here are the best devices
LG The company played the teaser game expertly and the LG G6 was hotly anticipated. The FullVision display stole the show and pre-empted reportedly similar designs by Samsung and even Apple. The waterproof body sheds G5's modularity but keeps the dual-camera. In fact, the revised system will offer better quality wide-angle shots. Also, two square photos fit perfectly on the 18:9 screen, a widely promoted feature which can be used for some fun effects. LG G6 hands-on Sony Sony may have been the only company with a two-tiered showing at the MWC, everyone else went all flagship...
Sony Xperia XZ Premium awarded Best New Smartphone at MWC 2017
The GSMA is a pan-European organization that hosts the annual Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and as part of the MWC they also hold annual Global Mobile Awards or GloMo awarding the best tech companies in various categories. In 2017 they awarded statuettes to over 40 winners. We already told you that Samsung nabbed the "Best Smartphone of 2016" prize, but now we learn that Sony has won the "Best new smartphone" award for their latest Xperia XZ Premium. Sony unveiled four new devices at MWC 2017 - the Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZs, Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra. The first of them...
LG G6 price in Europe to start from 700
LG G6 was one of the showstoppers at MWC in Barcelona. With its 79% screen-to-body ratio, slick design and 18:9 Full Vision display surely got everyone talking. Even if it doesn't have the Snapdragon 835 and had to play it safe with the 821 version, the LG G6 still is an excellent smartphone to consider buying. And now we know how much it will cost in Europe. The LG G6 was listed today by an online Romanian retailer for the price of RON3,200, which translates to roughly 700 or about $750. The listing concerns the 32GB model with 4GB RAM. Earlier today we also saw information that the...
Nokia 6, 5 and 3 hands-on: A closer look
We keep hearing "these aren't real Nokias!" in reference to the Android-running trio. To that we'd like to say: that's not entirely true and it doesn't entirely matter either. Yes, technically, these are HMD phones wearing the Nokia brand.
Moto G5 listed in UK retailer for 170 pounds
The Motorola Moto G5 is scheduled to become available later this month but is already listed in popular UK retailer John Lewis's online store for £169.95. The phone is out of stock at the moment so you can think of the listing as more of a pre-order. The price is for a Fine Gold or Lunar Gray Moto G5 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage and is in line with what Lenovo announced. Prices will vary depending on hardware configuration and, naturally, region. Thanks for the tip, Matt! Source
Week 9 in review: A melange of MWC news and Galaxy S8 rumors
MWC brought plenty of flagships along with some reruns of some legends. LG and Huawei launched respectively G6 and P10 with an accent on design. HMD Global along with Nokia Technologies announced that Nokia 6 would go global along with more affordable Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 and finished the joint event with the rerun of Nokia 3310 which looks more like a candy bar and less like the original 3310. But one device marched over all other and it wasn't even in Barcelona - the Samsung Galaxy S8. The week was stacked with even more live videos, images of powered devices and leaks. Samsung's flagship...
Prisma now has an in-app store with downloadable filters
The Prisma photo editing app was an instant success when it launched. At first, it had to filter your image over the internet, but with an update in last August, you got to do it offline, saving you both time and data. And now Prisma has a feature called "Store" where you can download for free more filters and remove current one. Prisma gained an immense popularity due to its unique neural net that reads the image and makes an artistic paint-like picture. Some of the filters, inspired by real art styles became popular over Instagram, and now developers of Prisma updated the app so...
Samsung Galaxy S8+ with S835 benchmarked on Geekbench

Samsung wants its Exynos 9 to tick inside VR headsets
Samsung reportedly has a new VR headset in testing that's completely untethered and operated by the new Exynos 9 chipset - that means it doesn't need a smartphone slapped on it to work. When Samsung released the Exynos 9 it stressed the new chipset is VR-ready thanks to a 20-core Mali-G71. If you want to get technical about things the new Exynos 8895 promises to minimize latency for a more immersive experience and aids non-interactive VR (like 360-degree video) with the video decoder. VR aside, Samsung wants its Exynos line of chipsets to be featured in other devices and other...

Previously, Netflix only offered HDR content on select devices, such as smart TVs, Chromecast Ultra, NVIDIA Shield, Xbox One S and select Roku models. Dolby Vision was only supported on select LG and Vizio televisions. With this, smartphones with an HDR display will also be able to access Netflix' HDR library and if they...

There are a lot of music services that offer plenty of options for your audio pleasure. TIDAL has FLAC music; Google Play works seamlessly with your Android and iTunes is Apple's response to everything above. Spotify is above them all thanks to its massive music library and worldwide availability but lacks the main feature that makes audiophiles turn their head the other way - the lossless quality of sound. And now Spotify tries to fight this issue with beta-testing Spotify Hi-Fi or as the company calls it - "The ultimate music experience." Spotify is preparing to launch a Hi-Fi...

The LG G6, which was unveiled at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC), will be launched in Australia on March 28, a day before Samsung's Galaxy S8 and S8+ are expected to be made official. The date was revealed by LG Australia. Australia is apparently going to be the second major market after South Korea to get the handset. The Korean launch is set for March 10. In Australia, the device will be available through carrier Telstra at launch. Pricing information wasn't revealed. But to give you an idea, LG has already revealed that the phone will carry a price tag of around $800 in...
