The Oppo Find X2 Pro is the most underrated flagship of the year

To say that 2020 has been all sorts of weird so far would be an understatement, but phone makers left and right have continued to churn out new devices at what seems like breakneck speed. We’ve seen a ton of flagships already, and most of those are excellent. And yet, the prices have crept up continuously, so a lot of them are quite expensive. However, if the amount that a proper top of the line device commands nowadays isn’t an issue for you, the question remains - which is the one to buy? That’s complicated, but if you are (or will be) looking for a new flagship smartphone to call your...

Top 10 trending phones of week 38

Apple announced four new devices this week - two watches and a tablet and yet it's the one that didn't announce on top of our trending chart The Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max might take another two months to hit the shelves, but people are already taking great interest in it. The Poco X3 NFC is now down in second with the new iPad Air rounding up the top three. That's still an amazing achievement for a tablet, but then it's hardly a surprise that people want to check the first Apple A14 chipset device. The Samsung Galaxy M51 follows, the two new Apple devices preventing it from repeating...

Realme 7 in for review

Realme is one of the few companies that actually managed to increase its sales during the first half of the year despite the pandemic, and seeing its currently lineup it will probably be able to maintain the momentum in the second half. One reason for that to happen is the arrival of the Realme 7 - a new phone with solid specs and an aggressive price tag. The phone is now with us, and here are our initial impressions before we go through with our detailed testing process and full review. Our unit arrived in Mist Blue color and it looks quite nice for a phone in these price segments....

Week 38 in review: Sony Xperia 5 II is here, new iPads and Apple Watch, LG Wing

This is your week's recap. There were a few of major announcements this week courtesy of Sony, Apple and LG so let's get started. Sony unveiled the Xperia 5 II, which is largely identical to the Xperia 1 II, but has a more compact 6.1-inch 1080p OLED with a fester 120Hz refresh rate. The Xperia 5 II will go on pre-order on September 29 for $950 and will begin shipping all the way on December 4. Apple held a September event that was focused on the Apple Watch and Apple iPad, instead of the iPhone 12 series. The Watch Series 6 has a brighter always on display, new Blue and Red models and...

Hot take: Sony Xperia 5 II

The Sony Xperia 5 II is unique for its connection to the past – it has a classic design, a size that draws comparisons with the beloved Compact models and features like the 3.5mm jack that other makers have abandoned for modern alternatives like USB-C and Bluetooth. It’s also a phone that perfectly embodies Sony – a tech giant known for its music players, cameras, TVs and game consoles. The company has a reputation of quality in all of those fields and the Xperia 5 II unabashedly displays relevant branding from those product line-ups: Bravia, CineAlta, Bionz and so on. But not everything...

Lenovo IdeaPad Chromebook Duet review

Introduction The Lenovo IdeaPad Chromebook Duet is an entry-level tablet running Chrome OS - but Lenovo includes a kickstand and keyboard (with touchpad) as standard accessories so it can be used as a laptop, completely mobile as a tablet, or flip the kickstand up and consume media on it. Starting at under $300, the Duet has a 10.1-inch Full HD LCD screen that gets decently bright and supports USI (Universal Stylus Input) styli. It runs on a midrange MediaTek Helio P60T chipset and equips a modest 4GB of RAM. Lenovo has made 2 in 1 ChromeOS devices in the past, but they were laptops...

Weekly poll: the Sony Xperia 5 II seems to be exactly what many have been asking for, or is it?

Usually when a new phone launches you see people in Internet forums describe their perfect phone and how this new model isn’t it. But the new Sony Xperia 5 II seems to check all the boxes we see most often – 3.5 mm jack, memory card slot, no notch, no punch hole, slow charging option, it’s water resistant, it has near-stock Android and so on. All this on top of being a fully-fledged flagship, of course. We get it. When you have a pair of wired headphones that you love, getting a phone that will require you use a dongle feels like a downgrade. Paying $100 extra for a bit more storage...
