Android aims at Wear OS update for Spring, custom tiles announced

Over at Google’s Android Developers Blog, Android Developer Relations Engineer announces the Jetpack Tiles library for Wear OS. This means that developers can start creating tiles for third-party apps on the wearables platform. Tiles are widget screens that can be accessed when you swipe to the right of the watch face screen. Here, you can glance at the weather forecast, health stats, or take your heart rate. Up until now, the only Tiles users could add were either made by Google or the watch’s OEM. OnePlus 8T gets its first Open Beta build

The OnePlus 8T is now the happy owner of its very own first Open Beta build released by OnePlus. This is still based on Android 11, by the way, so it's no early access to Android 12 or anything like that. The build is meant to go out to willing beta testers before receiving a wide release to everyone with a OnePlus 8T. Obviously since it's beta you shouldn't expect it to be perfect, bugs could make their presence felt. If you want to jump into Open Beta land for your OnePlus 8T, make sure you head to the Source linked below for the full instructions. Keep in mind that going from a...

Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G's price in Europe might have been outed

Of the undoubtedly expansive Mi 11 family, Xiaomi has so far only unveiled one device - the Mi 11 itself. That is likely to change very soon, as we've been hearing a lot about the Mi 11 Lite 5G lately, as well as the Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra. We're going to ignore the top of the line models and talk about the most affordable entry in the lineup. A European retailer has listed the Mi 11 Lite 5G in Truffle Black with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for €408.18. Obviously we can't be sure this isn't just a speculative listing, but bear with us here for some wild speculation. The...

The event will be livestreamed on MicromaxInfo.com at 12PM local time on March 19. The invitation is themed like a movie-theater ticket, suggesting that this device may be aimed as an economical multi-media consumption smartphone. The invitation reads “India Ka Naya Blockbuster” which translates to ‘India’s new blockbuster’ from Hindi. The In 1 is expected to serve a gap between the Micromax In 1b and...

Motorola Moto G30 in for review

The Motorola Moto G30 has arrived at our office, and we are preparing to put it through our review gauntlet to find out if it's worth your money. The retail box of the Moto G30 includes the usual paperwork, silicone case, and a 20W charger. The Moto G30 has a Snapdragon 662 SoC under the hood and boots near-stock Android 11 out of the box. The smartphone comes in three memory configurations - 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB, and 6GB/128GB. And if that much storage isn't enough, you have the option to further expand it up to 1TB via microSD card. The Snapdragon 662-powered smartphone is built...

Xiaomi teases king phone, gaming one incoming

Xiaomi VP Lu Weibing went on Weibo to promote two upcoming phones by Xiaomi. One is the "machine king" (translated) and the other is a "e-sports game phone". Weibing says if people want those devices they should "wait a little bit", not specifying how much exactly. If we're to guess we'd say the devices in question are the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and the Black Shark 4, both of which are expected later this year. Both will offer Snapdragon 888 chipsets with the Ultra focusing on imaging with a periscope zoom camera (either 5x or 10x) and the gaming phone possibly bringing a refresh rate...

Samsung Galaxy A52 5G listed by Polish and German retailers at higher than expected price

The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G can’t stay out of the stores even though the official announcement is still a few days away – we think that will happen on March 17 (Wednesday) when the A52 will be unveiled alongside the Galaxy A72. Both phones are expected to come in 4G and 5G flavors. And it is exactly the A52 5G that has cropped up on a second retailer, this time in Poland. The listing is still up, though the store removed the price. It was PLN 1,900, which works out to €415, which is higher than expected – when the phone showed up in a Saudi retailer it cost the equivalent of €365. And...

The screen will be 6.3” in diagonal, but unlike the P50 Pro, it won’t have curved edges on the side. It only shows up in Indonesia and only a select few will be able to get one. The phone will become available on March 15 (Monday) and it will cost IDR 5,700,000 ($395/€320). This is slightly more than the regular phone (IDR 5,000,000), but that is not the biggest obstacle to acquiring one. You will need a unique code to buy an Oppo Reno5 Marvel Edition.
